Sacred 2-Is it like Dark Alliance from last gen?

I know, I know. I'm sure there's a thread for this game somewhere on the PS3 board, but I did a search and didn't find it.

Anyway, after trying to slog through Demon's Souls and getting annoyed enough to trade it off and buying Dragon Age and realizing(too late) that the game was not to my liking either, I finally remembered that Sacred 2 came out for the PS3.

Anyway, my question is:

Are the controls similar in this game to those of Dark Alliance 1&2 or is like a Jade Empire/Dragon Age?

I prefer RPG games where when I hit a button my character swings their sword/mace/club/etc and not the controls from Dragon Age.

I'm sure this has been answered before as well, but how are the interactions between your character and random NPC's and other characters you have to interact with? Is it a menu type system with no voiceovers for your character like in DA or is it fully voiced?

I have no problem with the menu system, as long as my character is fully voiced and not a mute like 'the guy from GTA III'.

So, will I like this game or loathe it much like I have EVERY RPG thus far this gen(Fallout 3, Oblivion, Demon's Souls, Dragon Age)?

Sacred is a top down type game thats a loot fest. The only RPG aspect to the game is upgrading skills and farming better armor. Its on par with Diablo more than Dark Alliance, if you can find it on the cheap used it might be worth $15-$20. Summary hack and slash with tons of loot and the game gets pretty boring real fast.

Thanks for the response. I knew it looked like it was 3/4's above view, but that's the kind of game I really like is a hack n slash.

I've been looking for a game like this, but the cheapest I've seen is $30 on Amazon for it thus far.

This is very similar to Dark Alliance. Game is decent enough, and as always much better either with a buddy split screen or online (up to 4 I think).

But yeah, gindias summed it up pretty well.

Not in the least. I can't stand the battle system for any of the FF games.
