Yep. Looking around at recent threads and posts, there's been some negativity. I know I've been just as guilty of it as everyone else, so I figured a thread dedicated to being happy and being nice to each other would be helpful. :)

Let's start it off on the right foot with the Happy Happy Joy Joy song!

Hello, boys and girls. This is your old pal, Stinky Wizzleteats. This is a song about a whale. No! This is a song about being happy! That's right! It's the Happy Happy Joy Joy song!

Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!
I don't think you're happy enough! That's right! I'll teach you to be happy! I'll teach your grandmother to suck eggs! Now, boys and girls, let's try it again!

Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!
If'n you aint the grandaddy of all liars! The little critters of nature... They don't know that they're ugly! That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumblebee! I told you I'd shoot! But you didn't believe me! Why didn't you believe me?!

Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Happy Happy Joy Joy
Happy Happy Happy Happy
Happy Happy Happy Happy
Happy Happy Joy Joy Joy!

Now be happy and be nice to each other dammit!! :) :) :)

I still love you, man.

You know, I don't think anyone's every really said it, but there are some rather nice retail clerks out there. They'll put up with people heaping coupons on, or coming up with deals to good to be true, but they very politely do thier job and make visiting those stores a pleasure.

It seems kind of odd that with all of the shopping everyone on here does that you really don't hear about all of the good service you get, but rather it gets bogged down in the negative of the situation, or the great service one recieved gets lost in ones excitement for getting a great deal.

For example, at the EB and Gamerushes close to my house, there are some really nice clerks that really do thier jobs well.. even times where I've gone in and just browsed, I don't think I've ever walked out of either store in a worse mode than when I went in.

I think that's actually better than them always having the great deal I want all the time... sometime having to hunt down that great deal is half the fun... and sometimes even more fun that the item you actually buy turns out to be.

People tend to focus on the bad instead of the good, and that holds true for most aspects of life.

We've all had good experiences, but we don't share them. Maybe happiness is more fleeting than anger. Maybe society has taught us that bad events are more important than good ones. It could just be that bad days make better stories. In the end, we've got to remember that those are just isolated experiences. We'll have bad and good in our lives...we just need to focus on the good instead of the bad.

An EB opened by the Wal-Mart near my house a few months ago. Almost every experience I've had in the store has been good. I have yet to hear the clerks get mad at a customer or to see them not doing their job. Like JSweeney said, I'm usually in a better mood when I leave the store than I was in when I went into it.

I think it all comes down to perspective in the end, though.

There was this awsome clerk at Circuit City who was nice enough to hold Pikmin 2(with free shirt) for me after I had went to the 2 other local stores and found out they lied/didn't know they had none left in stock. When I called, he said they weren't allowed to hold items, but when I got there he had it in his drawer, just for me. He kicked so much ass.

The brighter the picture, the darker the negative.

I've just been going back and looking at posts over the pasts few months, and in general, the site is trending towards more negativity.
Perhaps it's the season change, or the elections, but in seeing that trend, I thought to myself... I said "Self, do I really want to be this negative all the time?"

The answer was no.
I figured, even if the rest of the board gets negative, this could serve as a bastion of hope and positivity. Kind of like an offshoot of the constantly evolving off topic topic, but more positive in it's outlook.

Yes the site has been a little more negative at times, but overall I think the wonderful moderator stuff (congrats sneakypenguin and stealthyseal) have governed the website alright. There are those though that will still ruin the fun of others.

Naw, JSweeney is pretty cool, he just seems, well...not nice sometimes because he fights the good fight with extreme prejudice.

More on-topic, I always have great experiences at EB and GameStop when I can get to them. One time I wore my CAG shirt to an EB and one of the female clerks, who was pretty easy on the eyes, gave me head. True story.

What good fight mihgt that be?? Sort of sounds Don Quixoteish (sp).

I wish that would happen to me at any store. Was it just becasue of the t-shirt? IF so I'm not wasting anymore time and buying one.

Oh there are days, when skies are grey
And everything goes wrong
When I start yelling, "Go away!"
And people say, "So long!"
When everything's in disarray
I'm right where I belong
When fun's away on holiday
This grouch must sing this song

I'm sad, because I'm happy
And I'm happy, 'cause I'm mad
And I'm mad, 'cause it sounds sappy
To be happy when you're sad

Yes there are days when skies are grey
And all the world looks yucky
When clouds and rain won't go away
And the road I'm on turns mucky
My feet splash in the mud, and hey,
My toes get wet and gucky
Yes everything just goes my way
I feel so gosh-darn lucky!

(The Grouch Choir joins in)

I'm sad, because I'm happy
And I'm happy, 'cause I'm mad
And I'm mad, 'cause it sounds sappy
To be happy when you're sad

Oscar: Everybody sing!

(sung in grand style)

I'm sad, because I'm happy
And I'm happy, 'cause I'm mad
And I'm mad, 'cause it sounds sappy
To be happy when you're sad

(spoken, with music still playing)

Oscar: Ah, I wish every day was like this!

Grungetta: Ah, me too, Oscie!

Oscar: Well, if wishes were garbage trucks, grouches would ride.

Grungetta: So true, so true!

Oscar: Let's just enjoy the moment. Yeah.

Moving fast and bright as a firefly
Just when you think the trouble's gonna pounce
Who's gonna be there when it really counts?
Do the Care Bear Countdown
And send a wish out through the air
Just do the Care Bear Countdown
When you need them they'll be there
Don't be afraid when trouble's brewin' in your heart
If you can dream just send a wish out in the dark

It's always great to see CheapyD add more and more to the site isn't it?
The "In your face" columns seem like a great idea... they take the community nature of the site and run with it.

Even if responses to those get heated, it's contained in that special little ecosystem... sure hurt feelings and such will bleed over into the normal board, but having such a structured forum so such a discussion will likely lead to some great discussions that don't end up falling into the post+1 nature of some of the other discussion.

Looking at the good things that have happened today...

I managed to hand in the portion of the research paper that was due today early. The first time that that's happened this year. :)

One of my friends wore a sleveless shirt to school today, and she looked absolutely stunning.

I got to spend an hour playing with LEGOs in a class called "College Reading and Writing." God, I love our public education system...

The student teacher in my AP English class told me that my writing is already well beyond where it needs to be for college.

My mother decided to stop being an evil schizophrenic bitch (not an exaggeration, unfortunately), and bought "Aladdin" on DVD. It's my favorite Disney movie. :D

So...how good has your day been? :D

How about lyrics for "Dont Worry, Be Happy"?

Don't Worry, Be Happy
Bobby Mcferrin

Here is a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy...

Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The land lord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy
Look at me I am happy
Don't worry, be happy
Here I give you my phone number
When you worry, call me
I make you happy
Don't worry, be happy
Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got no girl to make you smile
But don't worry be happy
Cause when you worry
Your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy (now)...

There is this little song I wrote
I hope you learn it note for note
Like good little children
Don't worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
But when you worry
You make it double
Don't worry, be happy...
Don't worry don't do it, be happy
Put a smile on your face
Don't bring everybody down like this
Don't worry, it will soon pass
Whatever it is
Don't worry, be happy

Here is a little song I changed
I took the words and rearranged.
Go CAG'n, and be happy.
Some hunt down deals and try cause some trouble
But if you're nice and happy your chances of gettin' it double
Go CAG'n, be happy...

Runnin' outta places to put your games
People may point and laugh and say you're lame..
Go CAG'n, be happy
Some people post like they're so great...
it's like while they post about themselves they masterbate.
Go CAG'n, be happy
Look at me I am happy
Go CAG'n, be happy
Here I give you my username
When you worry, PM me
I make you happy.
Go CAG'n, be happy
Ain't got no cash, that ain't no trial...
We get the deals like they're goin' outta style...
Go CAG'n... you'll be happy

Cause when you're CAG'n
You'll start a trend.
And when you've got good deals everyone's your friend
So go CAG'n.. be happy (now)...

There is this old song I changed
I took some words and rearranged..
Cause it's a parody then.
Go CAG'n, be happy
Why in the world did you just say Banky's gay?

Dude, I'd take that back or you can expect some trouble
You better worry..
I bet the price on your head will double.

Go CAG'n, be happy...
I bet he'll get the horse to do it, by cracky..
Then they'll be body parts and stuff all over the place...
Don't bring everybody down like this

I mean, really, of course he's so busy with chronicles, so I guess they may let it pass.
Being called gay, that is.
Go CAG'n, be happy

I took the words and rearranged.
Go CAG'n, and be happy.
Some hunt down deals and try cause some trouble
But if you're nice and happy your chances of gettin' it double
Go CAG'n, be happy...

Runnin' outta places to put your games
People may point and laugh and say you're lame..
Go CAG'n, be happy
Some people post like they're so great...
it's like while they post about themselves they masterbate.
Go CAG'n, be happy
Look at me I am happy
Go CAG'n, be happy
Here I give you my username
When you worry, PM me
I make you happy.

It's time to play the music
It's time to light the lights
t's time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight.

It's time to put on makeup
It's time to dress up right
It's time to raise the curtain on the Muppet Show tonight.

Why do we always come here
I guess we'll never know
It's like a kind of torture
To have to watch the show

And now let's get things started
Why don't you get things started
It's time to get things started
On the most sensational inspirational celebrational Muppetational
This is what we call the Muppet Show!

Piggy: Just close your eyes and make believe and you can be anywhere

Kermit: I like adventure
Piggy: I like romance
Fozzie: I love great jokes
Animal: Animal dance!!
Scooter: I've got my computer
Skeeter: I swing through the air
Rowlf: I play the piano
Gonzo: And I have blue hair
Bunsen: Me, I invent things
Beaker: Mee mee mee meee!

Nanny: Is everything all right in here?
All: Yes, Nanny.

Muppet Babies, we make our dreams come true
Muppet Babies, we'll do the same for you

Captain Planet, he's our hero,
Gonna take pollution down to zero,
Gonna help him put us under,
Bad guys who like to loot and plunder

"You'll pay for this Captain Planet!"

(chanting)
We're the planeteers,
You can be one too!
'Cause saving our planet is the thing to do,
Looting and polluting is not the way,
Hear what Captain Planet has to say:

"THE POWER IS YOURS!!"

But he'll still go and rend asunder,

CHEAP ASS GAMERS!
I ain't a' payin' full price! (3X)
CHEAP ASS GAMERS!

[BigNick] Something's on sale, but I don't know where...
Something's there....

[WSB] Not at the mall, already tried that track...
Looked, round and round, don't feel like goin' back.
'Course there was this chick,
With some monster tubes.

[BigNick] Yo-o-o-o did you do what I think?
Did you show her your new groove?

[WSB] Nah, she wasn't that fine,
even though her rack was alright.

[ajh2298]
Not like I have pride, gonna do this right...
I'll lie and say, I BANGED HER LAST NIGHT.

[WSB] But I walk all day long, all through the mall.
It really sucked, no deals at all.

[BigNick] You log on to CHEAPASSGAMER!
It'll solve this all!

But when you see the post, you don't have time to waste
So get out to the store or mall, but you don't have to buy them all
Go outside and leave some still at the place.
Now it's no dream, when you look at the price because you seein

All by myself, with no one around

But I didn't care G, I just screamed for HELP!
Then - GHOSTBUSTERS - had strapped to their back
Screamin - GHOSTBUSTERS - those 'busters attacked
"We are your friendly neighborhood ghostbusters,"
that's what they said to me
"We are the busters of an ?, G-H-O-S-T"

GHOSTBUSTERS!

Maybe if you posted erotic stories of yourself this thread would get the jumpstart it needs. Well don't worry I'll pick up the slack.

I was an innocent teenage boy at the time when my gym teacher and I went into the supply closet . . . and when he said drop down and give me 20 he wasn't talking about push ups . . . Now I'll never look at balls the same way again.

What? Did he need you to help him get out the ping pong balls so that your gym class could have some wholesome tabletop tennis fun?

Or was there a softball tournement in town? I guess it could get tiring having to help carry softballs out of a supply closet all day so that the games weren't help up due to a lack of supplies.

Minx:
Of the many early notable posters at CAG.
Her, Deadzone, and NintendoFanGirl were amongst the very first of the frequent female posters.
At one time, her posting was rather frequent, but due to either disinterest or personal issues, her posting fell of drastically and she fell into a state of relative anonymity.

Her recent post dealing with her being roused from her sleep by police officers have breathed life back into the Is Minx Hot or Not thread. Of course, if you weren't her when Minx posted constantly, or if you missed those two thread this weekend or early this week you would be rather in the dark.

You'd be within the second generation.
The way I view it, 1rst generation runs from site inception until about the Begining of the Q3-Q4 sales rush of the holiday season. The users that joined during that period I consider second generation. Third Generation begins at the begining of 2004 and runs until just recently... the begining of the holiday boom. I think it might have something to do with several of the regulars MIA, like JSweeney and 6669. Also because lack of deals lately there hasn't been much to discuss (not including Halo 2). Hopefully that will change with the upcoming holiday season and bevy of top tier releases.

OTT... where everybody knows your name... and they're always glad you came...

Have you ever heard the whole song? It's weird. Still a damn good song though.

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

All those nights when your've got no lights, the check is in the mail.
And your little angel hung the cat up by it's tail.

And your third fiancé didn't show!

Sometimes you wanna go..

Where everybody knows your name
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
the troubles are all the same.
you wanna be where everybody knows your name

You roll out of bed, mr. Coffee is dead, the morning's looking bright
And your shrink ran off to Europe, and didn't even write.

And your husband wants to be a girl!

Be glad there's one place in the world

Where everybody knows your name
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same.
You wanna go where everybody knows your name.

[Repeat]
Where everybody knows your name.
And they're always glad you came.
