Bear with me here, its a lot of info and im trying to find the best logical solution to it.
-I have a 20gb hdd (no system) with my profile, xbla games, saved data/ achivements on it. (I was on a Gold account, but i havent had a 360 in about a year so I do plan to get Gold again).
-I also have a 256mb memory card.
-Im going to most likely buy the elite system with 120gb. I want to transfer my profile/saved/games/xbla games (including double dragon, which i heard was removed from Live).
-So- is it faster/easier/possible to just copy the game saves to the memory card then to the 120gb, re-download all my xbla games, and retrieve my gamercard with my achievements on my new system? (Also deleting my gamercard off the 20gb)?
-OR do i need to buy the transfer cable?
-The reason I ask is because i read the transfer cable "rules" on the xbox.com site and it says you can only transfer once and thats it- so what happens if i transfer the files and then the hdd dies? Would i be SOL???
I hope you xbox 360 pros can help me out here. Im not sure what to do.
