Gamerush deal starting 10/12

I work for Gamerush ( Blockbuster ) and my manager told me today that the new deals for the month are as follows:

Trade one used game, get any new game $29.99

Trade any game and get any new, 'Best of 2004 " game for 1/2 off.

The best of is apparently a listing of certain games, don't know which ones yet though. Both are killer deals.

Does not apply to preorders and ends the day before Halo 2 comes out :(

Basically what Gamerush is doing is trading profit margin for used inventory, for which they can make up the lost margin when the used games are sold. I sure don't think the deals are going to be this good always.

also, minimum of $8 per DVD trade at BB too ( and you can use the credit for anything in the store ;D

I haven't seen all the details on the deal yet, but worst case scenario is that it would cost $39.99 instead of $29.99. That is my best guess.

Yes, you always get the credit for the game, the deal and credit are 2 seperate issues. This may change in the future though.

bah! Just got back from gamerush b/c I heard the pre-order deal was ending tonight. I didn't think they would top that deal. I thought their whole plan was to give amazing deals at the begging to build a customer base then start giving gamestop/eb deals. This deal is ever sweeter than the last. Oh well.. I just spoke to someone at one of the stores in the Cincinnati Area (Mason store on Kings Mills Road). He indicated that the trade 3 get $5 extra in credit deal was still going on. He also mentioned that there is a 2 for $30 deal on certain games. The games I remember were:

GTA 3
one of the Tony Hawk titles.

He also stated that they were running a trade-in two games get 50% off what they are calling the best of 2004. The list was long and he didn't cover all the games. The ones I remember are:

Yes you do. You get the credit of the game as well as a new game for $30. You do not get an extra $5 for your trade though.

Technically the coupon is a flat $20 off but if the game is less than 49.99 they may not use it and manually take off the amount to get you to 29.99, or in the case of Midway Arcade Treasures take nothing off. YMMV, good luck.

It's any new game for $29.99... I don't think they will let you take a new $19.99 game for free.

Not ALL Dallas gamerushes are still doing the preorder deal. I just got back from picking up Kindom Under Fire and some other games, and they don't have that deal po anymore. They have the extra $5 credit and the best of 2004 for 1/2 off when you trade in two games. The list is pretty crappy, they had alias, catwoman, shrek 2, and other crappy games. Onimusha 3 and Sudeki were on there and I picked Onimusha up for $20 and Sudeki for $15. Still was a great day, because I got 3 deals combined again. So I picked up Onimusha 3, Sudeki, MAT 2, and a used Madden 2005 (I got madden 2005 for a $1 from a coupon) for $60, but I got over $100 from the 5 games I traded in so I left with $40 credit added onto my card. The GRs still don't have Bloodrayne 2 yet, though.

i don't think there is any restriction to buy GTA: SA because it is a new release. if they don't let you buy it then just tell them that it doesn't say anywhere the restrictions or what games you can't get. cuz i'm looking to get men and doom 3 cuz i didn't get the chance to preorder them when the deal was around. so your more than likely going to get this deal to go with GTA: SA

Just got back from the Gamerush In LA on Venice and picked up my preorder for Paper Mario 2. This is my first pre-order at this location, but I have picked up a couple at another gamerush. At this one they had the game stored away with a copy of my receipt showing that I had payed in full. It was a much better experience than the two previous times (at another gamerush) when they didn't have my copy saved, and tried to charge me full price when I had already payed in full. Hopefully gamerush stores are becoming more professional with the pre-orders like the store I went to tonight.
