has anyone played this game? I hear its good. But is it 7.41 good? I mean I gotta lot of other games to disperse the money on specially with B2G1 coming up.

I have not played the original VF4, but Evolution owns.
The fighting engine is amazing and it is one of the best fighting games ever. If you like deep fighters this is one to own

from the reviews I've read, save your money and get VF 4: Evolution. Definitely sounds like the better of the two VF PS 2 games. since Evolution came out as a GH title, it's automatically $20, so you can get it for $15 at BB using the GGC.

Couldn't help myself. From what I read about the reviews for evolution, hardly anything is different cept 2 new characters a couple of new songs.. Any the original is 7 dollars cheaper :)

it was 10 at TRU.
If you do like VF4, I would pick up evolution when you get bored. there is a whole club circuit mode and a 10th anniversery mode as well which is worth the price of admission alone

I wish I had kept the case from my original copy of VF4 to put Evo in, that's the only GH/PC/PH game I still have.

The graphics in eveolution are better no jaggies that plague the original.

I received VF: Evolution as a gift last Christmas, I love the game, much better than the original VF4, but, I mean, it's only 5 dollars... I'd recommend getting VF: Evolution though.
A shame it's ONLY GH...

I picked up Evo for 5 bucks on clearance on Target, so if you prefer that version, you may want to check it out.
I don't own Evolution, but I have rented both before, and I definately recommend Evo over the original. And yeah, that stupid GH box bothers me as well.

You can also pick up VF4: Evolution for $10 at Target if they still have it.

Get VF4 EVO, It's the best 3D fighter ever IMO. To this day It's still the only PS2 game in my collection with that ugly GH label but the game is worth It.

So you own an inferior game simply to not have a red label on the case? And that seems somehow sensible to you?

i didn't say it made any sense, cause i know it doesn't. however in a collection w/o any GH, PH, or PC i refuse to let this one be the exception. i'm sure there are people out there that depise those damn red/silver/yellow labels just as much...

I'd suggest seeking medical attention for your OCD. Your obsessive behavior is disturbing. ](*,)

Not sure, but damn five bucks is a great price for almost any game. I don't care if it has a freakin pink stripe on the top either.

Ha, about a fourth of my PS2 games are GH versions. I even traded my non-GH copy of Silent Hill 2 and picked up the updated version. I think the red is sexy.

the other thing to think about is the fact that evolution is dvd-based. it has cleaner graphics, a refined engine, and most importantly for those of you with finnicky ps2's, it is on the more reliable, faster loading dvd media.
btw, goh is awesome. if you like grapplers, you need evolution. i have both editions and i enjoyed vf4, but i would rather've waited for evo at 20 bucks.

I found EO in a PH edition for $15 today at CC. Passed it by thought because I'm tapped out.
Grabbed three Killzone Demo's for a penny each though.

That damn red label on top just freaks me out....I just stare at it and think "why the hell did they put that ugly red label on there?" It just ruins it so much that I have nightmares about waking up and all my other PS2 games suddenly have changed over to the ugly red banner across the top. I wake up and I run to my game collection to see if they really have changed or not. Then I realize, it's just a dream and everything is ok again. This is a dream I have a few times a week. I think I will go see a sleep therapist as soon as possible, because now I am dreaming about the ugly yellow banner on my gamecube games...

Screw the sleep therapist. You need to upgrade yourself to a shrink. :P

Akira is by far the toughest VF character to use. Just remember some good attacks that'll fit well into a combo. Remembering most of the useful attacks isn't that hard; it's keeping track of all the defense options that's difficult.

VF 4: Evo is a great game, definitely the deepest fighting game for any console. I've had it for probably about 9 months now I've only really "mastered" one fighter (Sarah, considered a beginner character to boot) and am maybe competent in 1 or 2 others and that's it. I couldn't even fathom being able to master all the characters. The only advantage for the original VF 4 was the neat A.I. mode that you could "coach" your own computer controlled player and pit it against yourself or other A.I. players. A cool feature I wish they kept in the Evo version but I would still spring the extra 5 ot 10 bucks for that version rather than the original.
