As many of you know, Rodney Dangerfield, Christopher Reeve, and Ken Caminiti recently passed away. They say celebrities die in threes. Who untimely passing surprised you the most?

Rodney was pretty old, plus he was already in the hospital.
Chris Reeve, on the other hand, seemed like he had some more time to go.
Caminiti took steroids, and it seems that a lot of people who take them for a decent amount of time end up dead in their 40s. Hulk Hogan being the notable exception...

i'll say chris reeve. We heard that he was gaining strength and moving different areas of his body that he couldn't before. Mr. Dangerfield has been sick for a while now, and for Ken Caminiti some people was waiting for this so they can scare people with the steroids are bad idea.

Can you add "None of the above" to the options? I mean, drug addict, near 10 year survivor as a quadriplegic, and an ancient old man who has had heart troubles for a long time... none seem too surprising to me...

Add in a healthy dose of cocaine for Caminiti. The guy was asking for it.

I'd say christopher Reeve, but I think Janet Leigh should have been on the list.

The only reason that even the Hulkster is still alive is probably because he supposedly quit about 15 years ago... supposedly... Which would probably have been early enough to give him a few extra years than most users.

She wasn't exactly a youngster either though.
None of these come as a huge surprise to me, but I will go with Reeve only because like some others have noted, he seemed to be making some improvement.

I'd say Reeve, mainly because of the reasons already stated.

Rodney - Least surprising considering his condition, but most heartfelt.
Reeve - Most unexpected. While it is very sad, I was never a huge fan of his, unlike Rodney.
Caminiti - Who? (I don't mean that as a joke, I've seriously never heard the name.)

I figured he was someone in sports. I don't follow sports at all.

Yes, I almost listed my reason for Caminiti as "he's not all that famous."

Reeve. He had such optimizim and strength that i honestly thought he'd be around much longer. There was also no recent reason to think that would happen. Yes, he's had his overall condition, but that seemed like stable ground for him.
Caminiti is the kind of person im glad is off this planet, but overall never cared about him.
Rodney...well, i probably would have lost a few rounds of "Dead or Not" with that name for a while...but its still weird knowing he's no longer alive.

I'd say Mr. Reeve was the biggest shock. Rodney was 82 and when you get that old and die, it aint a surprise. Caminiti is kind of a marginal celebrity so his death doesn't hit as hard to most people. So I saw Christopher Reeve's tops the list easily.

Christopher Reeve's was the most sudden for me. In the course of two days he went into cardio arrest and passed away after being healthy just a few days prior. A real shame.

Caminiti, I was playing some ff-x on sunday night with my wife asleep in bed next to me when espn broke to announce it. I said, "HOLY SHIT"
no idea how I didnt wake her.
I remember him vividly as a padre, Im from san diego and he was a very generous part of the community. he had an exceptional amount of problems. tortured internally type of guy. wasnt all about the money, everyone who knew him cared for and respected him.
very sad.
And yea, its a very good reminder of what drugs can do to a person.
I doubt the steroids played as big a part as the excessive coke and who knows what else.

I was really surprised when I read the headlines of the morning paper, reading that Christopher Reeve was dead. Although I hadn't been keeping up with his modern well-being, I was taken back that he had died.

Reeve was very suprising, but I think the most suprising one in recent memory was John Ritter last year. He just suddenly died one day, with no real conditions.

Yeah, that was especially shocking. As far as i knew he was in perfect health and doing well with his new tv show and than, bam, gone. Really sad.
