Adorama?

Holy heck, that store is 115% legit.

I ordered my camera rig from them and they are TRUE professionals at their craft, which is first and foremost being a photography/video enthusiast specialty store.

How comfortable was I when I bought from them? A good friend of mine, who is a professional photographer, has been shopping with Adorama for the past 15 years. No complaints from him.

That's when I decided that Adorama was THE store to buy my camera rig from, not only because of their reputation, but because their prices were the most competitive as well.

I've spent over $2500.00 at Adorama and I've always been satisfied with the products and their service. Seriously, Adorama is totally legit. Have no worries.

Holy fuck yes! I remember my very first memory card was a whopping 128 megabytes for my Toshiba e310, fucking thing cost me about $40. Now I've got a bunch of little microsd and a few mem-sticks pro duo laying around.

Ah well, at least now my PSP will hold a respectable amount of music and vids.

Edit: Oh, and thanks OP, nice deal!

Yeah, this is what I was remembering: I think I waited a bit, but I still spent like $80-90 on a 1GB stick, which has since become basically useless and is buried in some junk drawer. Makes me want to wretch...

I think it works as is. No need for formatting. I could be wrong but either way it should be a problem. My last 2 PSP cards, all I did was put them on my PSP and they were ready to go (at least one of em was Lexar I think, not 100% sure, sorry, memory is off today).

Same here... Heh, well, the product page does say "$14.95 before $-3.00 savings," so maybe that means they're applying a negative discount of three dollars. Bravo, e-commerce!

Plus, I hate swapping (and keeping track of which saves are on what card). :)

Just got my package about an hour ago. For those with psp and concern with speeds and such here are my findings:

My results using black speed v2.0 test

Here is the Lexar 8gb Plat II (Mark 2 branded) card:

[blackSPEED v2 log]
Vendor :
_insert vendor_
Product name :
_insert name_
Product ID :
_insert id_
Total Space: 7627.000 MiB (7997489152 Bytes)
Free Space: 2905.594 MiB (3046735872 Bytes)
Cluster Size : 32.0 KiB (32768 Bytes)
read : 9.0511 MiB/sec (Blocksize 1024.0k)
write : 9.4911 MiB/sec (Blocksize 1024.0k)
read : 8.3738 MiB/sec (Blocksize 32.0k)
write : 9.1826 MiB/sec (Blocksize 32.0k)
read : 2.7521 MiB/sec (Blocksize 2.0k)
write : 1.0099 MiB/sec (Blocksize 2.0k)
read : 0.7859 MiB/sec (Blocksize 0.5k)
write : 0.3423 MiB/sec (Blocksize 0.5k)
PI: 415

For comparison, my Sandisk 4gb Gaming (red case) card:
[blackSPEED v2 log]
Vendor :
_insert vendor_
Product name :
_insert name_
Product ID :
_insert id_
Total Space: 3904.938 MiB (4094623744 Bytes)
Free Space: 904.563 MiB (948502528 Bytes)
Cluster Size : 32.0 KiB (32768 Bytes)
read : 15.9759 MiB/sec (Blocksize 1024.0k)
write : 6.0225 MiB/sec (Blocksize 1024.0k)
read : 13.4003 MiB/sec (Blocksize 32.0k)
write : 6.1823 MiB/sec (Blocksize 32.0k)
read : 3.8622 MiB/sec (Blocksize 2.0k)
write : 1.7899 MiB/sec (Blocksize 2.0k)
read : 1.1987 MiB/sec (Blocksize 0.5k)
write : 0.3894 MiB/sec (Blocksize 0.5k)
PI: 508

Notice that they were both 1/2-3/4 full so it's not a fresh card (fresh results were similar though). Looks like the new Mark2 branded lexars took a little bit of a hit on read speeds but are still acceptable (to me). The plus side is that it is a 150% improvement over the sandisk gaming. Overall with read and write speeds near 10Mbps, I'm pretty happy with the price vs speed ratio.

No plugin issues.

Nope everything is playing just as fast as my other stick. I think for 99% of the time read speeds for the psp won't matter as it may come down to maybe up to a second longer load time if the stick is really slow. I'm betting we are talking ms difference in actual performance between my lexar and sandisk that I have (at least it seams that way since I can't tell a difference). Btw I'm using cfw 5.00 m33-6 fyi.

So, I got the PSP 3000 Gran Turismo entertainment bundle with the Sony 2GB card and decied to use the 'UMD Install' feature of GT as the game projected it took about 15 minutes. I decided to upgrade my memory card to this Lexar model when I went to use the 'UMD install' feature again it took about 40 minutes to write to this memory card.

I thought that in theory the bundled sony card and this lexar version should be very comparable in speed.

Has anybody else noticed any problems/performance issues with this card in their psp?

Thanks,

well...for just game saves, you wouldn't need a whole lot-case in point, my 1 gig stick still has over 80% free after putting on what I need for saving for the 20+ games I have (and I am also a huge save guy-so go figure)
However, if you want to use it for some other purposes, i.e. the other multimedia features of the PSP, video/music-well, that's anybody's guess

2GB is fine for game saves, music, and photos. I got a bunch of saves, a couple of PS1 games, like 50 songs, and some pictures on my 1GB with a little room to spare. If you want to start putting large videoes or dump your entire music folder, though, you'll want something bigger.

Picked up one for a new digital camera I'm supposed to be getting from Sony.

I've ordered from them before, never been an issue.

It's now $35, unfortunately I missed it.

Anyone know other sites that sell 8gb stick under $20 w/ S/H?

Very happy with the 16GB I ordered.
Fits half my game collection, so I should be good for the other half when I actually unseal them.

Can anybody confirm that this 8GB Memory Stick Pro Duo is not compatible with the 60GB Playstation 3? I cannot get my PS3 to detect it.

You may want to try reformatting it in your computer first.

Thanks. My computer does not have a MSPD drive and I don't have a PSP handy. Is the PS3 capable of formatting it? If not, can I just buy a USB adapter to have my PC read it and forward it that way?

I guess the deal is dead now because it's showing $34.95 for me.

Time to move onto the next best thing.

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41ejceZH89L.jpg (http://www.amazon.com/PhotoFast-CR-5400-MicroSD-Adapter-Dual/dp/B001I0T92Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1262157809&sr=8-2)

And then pick up a pair of 4GB MicroSDs.
