View Full Version : Power button stop making that click sound. How do I fix it?
Just noticed that the power button on my Xbox 360 stop making that click sound when you press it, and seems to be a bit mushy. I can turn it on and off just fine. The problem isn't the faceplate as the faceplate works fine on another system. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

I got the RE5 bundle this year...and it has always been "mushy". I hate it.

Don't know, maybe there is some tape or something misplaced on the inside that went around the button?
Also, it usually makes a clicking noise in my experience. Not quite 100% sure what you mean by "mushy".

Who the hell uses the power button!?
Yea mine is the RE Elite too. By mushy it doesn't make a clicking sound when you press it.

It probably has something to do with the logic board that holds the button. I have the same problem with one of my 360s. You'd have to replace the board to fix it. I don't really think $20 is worth hearing that 'click' sound again. ;)

Exactly, it's much easier to just use the guide button on the controller to turn the system on. I don't think except for when I first got the system, that I've used the power button on the console.

It is a lot faster to turn off the system

Getting up out of your seat to turn it off? Preposterous.
Other front-page news: the main page of Yahoo has a side-blurb for Yahoo Personals with the slogan:
"your love life is in your hands." Disturbing.

Pro Tip: You can use the Start button too!
