S-video system selector?

Hey there.. I've been looking for an s-video system selector for my PS2 and GC. I read about the Pelican one which was like $100 but degraded video quality. $100 is a bit too much for me anyway since I don't plan on using component or optical cables.

Anyway I was hoping someone could recommend a good system selector which has s-video input and output which isn't too expensive. Thanks!

The $100 one is for component input/output. I managed to snag a 5 system selector for 5 S-video inputs for about $7 two X-mases ago. It works great. Check the bargain bins at Gamestop/EB games and see what you can find.

none that i noticed. plus, it has printed tags so you can label it. 4 systems hooked up at once, and i couldnt tell the difference in pic quality.

I use the same pelican systen selecter that i got from BB for $20. It was worked perfectly for me without any loss in video quality. The $100 one is really only useful if you plan to connect your consoles to a high def television like

plus, if you have 100 for a system selector, you could splurge a bit more and get a nice reciever and speakers. my reciever has 2 component and like 8 s video. only 300 on ebay new.

Thanks for the input. Turns out I was hallucinating, and that TV tuners are just not that good for video gaming. Took screenshots using a normal GC video signal and using the selector and there was no difference at all.. *sigh*

Either way here are the screenshots.. Please do tell if you can notice any difference(other than Snake's breath of course)

I dunno the 2nd one has sort of a crisper image, I noticed it right away. Then as I kept looking at them they seem similar, but I don't know there is just a better quality to the 2nd one.

Also the pelican selector they had it for 80 bucks at Gamestop...YMMV, but hey 20 bucks less is not too shabby

I've got the $20 Pelican system selector, and I don't think it degrades the picture. However my ex-boyfriend talked me into buying Moster cables to replace the ones that came with it, so maybe they make a difference.

KB toys (atleast the one near me) has a 3-input s-video selector for $10. I don't think a s-video switch will affect video quality too much, as it's just a switch and not a long length of cable.

I see them as totally identical. I gues just go for personal preference and comfort.
