Is Zelda Wind Waker really that damn good?

I love this game, I praise it, and there are not many games from this gen I would recomend as high as this one.

And I must also say that is an amazingly awesome game, definitely worth picking up, especially now at its new, reduced price.

I hated it, I thought it was the worst Zelda game.

It's a well produced game with attractive visuals, containg many Zeldalike ideas and some brand new ones.
It's 20 bucks now isnt it? How can you pass that up even if it wasnt as good as it is?

Good, but not quite great IMO. Definately worth the 20 it goes for now.

It's not bad, but IMHO, it wasn't as good as OOT or Majora's Mask.

Not many games are.
I just picked up WindWaker when the price dropped, so I'll hopefully be able to shed some light on this soon.

Yeah deffinitely not as good as quoted but, that's pretty tough to live up to, this game is great, and like everyone has said it's cheap now, like 16.88 at Target and Wal Mart

It's totally decent. Not the best ever, but it was a fun ride.

its nowhere near as good as ocarana of time/majoras mask, but yes its good.

Easily worth it. A great game. Again, not as good as some other games, like OOT, but at the same time still a refinement in many ways, the fighting system particularly.

It definetely takes a while to get into. The ocean travelling can get monotonous, but the last part of the game is spectacularly satisfying.

I hated OoT, I enjoyed Wind Waker...Go figure.
WW is a good game IMO and worth the pick-up.

Er,... lets see. I say Not better than Oot, but MUCh better than Majora's Mask (just couldn't get into that one...). AND... 75th POST! WOOT!

It suffers from an extremely tedious travel mode but any fan of the action RPG genre cannot call their life complete without this game. Now that the GameCube has a good spread of $20 titles it's pretty hard for any avid gamer with a decent job to excuse not having one.

You're not alone on that. I also didn't like Ocarina. I think Majora and Wind Waker are much better heirs to the Zelda name. Go buy Wind Waker, OP! (If you have the money, anyway.) If you're an old-school Zelda fan, you will probably not be disappointed.

I picked up a used copy this summer, tried it, and thought it was OK. I got rid of it, though, because I wasn't really getting into it as much as others have. At the new $20 price tag, I may feel compelled to buy it again, but not any time soon.
BTW, off topic, but I have a Wind Waker guide that I'm selling for $5 if anyone wants it. PM me if interested.

I bought it for $50 when it came out. And it was well worth it. Go for it, you probably wont be dissapointed.

Its a really easy game, but its a ton of fun. I would recomend that everybody with a Gamecube get it now that its a PC.

It wasn't bad, but i didn't think it was that great either (in comparison to past zelda titles) I got extremely bored with the sailing aspect of it. I'm hoping the new zelda comming out makes up for it.

I agree. The sailing aspect of the game ruined it for me.

My favorite Zelda game.
It's the last game I pre-ordered / paid full price for, and I don't regret it one bit. I thought the game was great, and I for one liked the graphic style of the game. Sailing around kind of gets mundane, but the sound, presentation, and gameplay more than make up for it.
I like what I played. I bought it still at $50, but sadly, everytime I picked it up, I never finished.

I beat the game, and WindWaker is a great game. Anyone would be crazy not to pick it up at the new price (or even at the old price). Don't be fooled by graphic whores; the game was awesome.

I personally make it a habit of mine to hate all things Zelda, as it is a terrible franchise as low as anything Blizzard's ever pushed out through its doors. That being said, get Morrowind GotY. If you already have that, Get Vampire: Bloodlines.

It is a great game. The only thing that kind of sucks about is the sailing. My recommendation? Play a dungeon, set your ship in the right direction, do something else for about 10 minutes, come back, play the next dungeon. The game is perfect when played like that.

For $50 bucks, this game sucks. But for four fins it's fine!
This thread should have been a poll....

I just hated the long boring sailing portions early on before you can warp. If they can make sailing kick ass the next installment will deffinitely kick ass
