Stumbled upon this tonight on ebay. This seller has 100% positive feedback and is offering the game for 18.00 shipped! Don't forget to use BING for 8% cash back.

Bought it 2 seconds after I saw this post. haha. New I couldnt pass this up. Top rated game at a very decent price. Also used the bing cash back. Got it for basically $17.80. To get Bing Cashback go to Bing.com and then the Shopping tab and search "wii". When you get to the search results look right at the top and the sponsored link should take you right to the ebay site with the bing cashback activated. Remember you have to use Buy it Now and PAYPAL. Also remember that after you activate BCB you can search for anything on ebay and can get BCB.

I'd be cautious with this one, they have no feedback for selling games before this and suddenly are selling 60 copies of a game for a low price

as with what jjj said, there is also some feedback mentioning games, so your claim is totally bogus. The rest of their feedback is older than 90 days, so you can't actually see if the auctions are for games or not.

I bought this game on release, but haven't actually got to it since a few weeks ago. I'm pretty far in the single player mode and its a pretty good game so far. Better than I expected as part 1 didn't do that much for me. I have only tried single player so far and a few deathmatches so far. No co op yet.
The scope, size and detail of some of the bosses are INSANE.
Its a Steal at this price!

This is obviously a "fell off the back of a truck" kind of deal. How the seller got a large quantity of sealed copies may be suspect, but what you get will obviously be legit, as it's already been pointed out the seller's 100% rating and PayPal protection to boot.
The way I see it, if you want this game you would be an idiot for not taking advantage of these circumstances.

Here we go again...
Stuff like this has been popping up a lot lately. A number of CAGs got taken by a guy selling cheap electronics, including 360 controllers for $15. And guess what? The person had good feedback. He even had a lot of very recent feedback for selling a bunch of other cheap stuff. Needless to say, the $15 360 controllers were never shipped. There was also another guy selling $60 games for less than $20, but I don't remember what the feedback situation there was. Point is, it's been going around. Likely, it is hijacked accounts.
This game still retails for $60. Does anyone honestly think the seller legitimately got a hold of 60 copies of the game at such an insanely cheap price that they can sell it at $18 shipped and make a profit, after PP and eBay fees? Sure. If you believe that, please, let's do business. I mean, come on. This is an account with a 214 feedback rating since 2003. And now, they are selling games by the dozen? And just that one game? Kind of doubt that.
As far as PayPal protection goes, don't always assume that's going to come through. There have been plenty of stories of people getting screwed out of money, despite the fact that the seller was obviously a scam artist. The biggest issue use to be people clearing out their PP and bank accounts, so that PayPal could not recover the funds. That, of course, was greatly alleviated when eBay and PP started putting holds on certain high risk transactions. I know that people did get their money back from the 360 controller fiasco.

I ordered one of the $15 360 controllers previously mentioned. Here's the thread:
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=244918
I did get my money back, fortunately, even though the seller's accounts were closed up soon after the stuff was sold. I don't know if that was the seller cutting and running or Ebay and PayPal looking into whatever shady stuff was going on. All I know is that I won't bother with deals that are obviously too good to be true. We got our money back this time, but like was said, there are horror stories all over the 'net. I know, because I looked into them after it was obvious that the seller wasn't shipping or responding to messages. I figured it was likely we were all gonna get screwed.
I'm probably smarter than you and your whole family combined.
That was certainly a mature response. Are you going to call him a cocky-doody head next?

I wasn't apart of this controller scam, but I think it's easier to find deals on software than it is hardware. For example, Tekken 6 was on Amazon.com for 19.99. It was a supposed $60 game. I would have been more cautious if it were a Sony PS3 controller for 19.99, but the point is there are good deals out there.
Regardless, I won't be losing sleep over this deal. I bought it, sure, but I am not dying to play it. I will be fine with a my refund, too.
Deal or no deal, life goes on. I don't need a detective to give me his life story on this website.

If I were scammed on Craigslist, I wouldn't tell the world about my experience and ask that no one use the website or approach it with paranoia. It makes no sense.
Well, I don't know about "paranoia", but it's perfectly reasonable that someone warn people to approach Craigslist with caution after they've been scammed. That just makes sense.
One needn't be scammed by the exact individual in question to see that a particular sale might be suspect.
Approach this purchase with caution, that's all.

I wouldn't even respond to him. I simply ignored him, because he sounds like a complete jerk. The great thing about CAG is that we try to help each other out. For those expecting full coverage by Paypal, that is not always the case. As stated by bigdaddybruce, if the seller (scammer) liquidates his bank account and paypal account before a large number of claims are filed, Paypal will refund nothing to you. I got scammed on eBay when I tried to buy a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga a while back and I did not get all my money back because the seller had already partially spent my payment money.
I've been selling on eBay since 1999 and I can assure you that no seller with any amount of intelligence would just stumble on 60 copies of a popular game and liquidate them at rock bottom prices when they could obviously get more for their product.
I hope to be proven wrong, but I believe you will all be back in this thread within a week whining about how your game never arrived. If it does, congratulations, you got a great game at a great price.

Exactly. Doesn't make any sense. Like I said, the game still goes for ~$60 on Amazon, Newegg, etc. Why would they sell them for less than $20? Granted, this is another example of a PS3 exclusive that has stayed at $60 for way too long, but look at the completed listings on eBay, and you will still see that new copies easily go for between $25 and $30 shipped. They could have put them up for more than they did, and they still would have sold out easily.

For reference, this is the last item this seller sold:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300373220156
Compare the descriptions between the two. It should be relatively clear from the differences that these were not posted by the same people. Sellers have a consistent style and wording in their listings, and these two are not consistent with each other.
Also, the feedback (and this item) seems to suggest that this seller used to sell baby supplies and not video games. I with the others in thinking that this is a hijacked account.

Probably because a newer game is way too obvious. They would send off massive red flags, as it did in a thread from, I think, last month, where someone was selling MW2 for like $20.

The two feedbacks you posted earlier just said "game." If this person sells baby stuff, for all we know, it could be some kind of kid's game. Anyway, even if it was for a couple of video games, there's a big difference between someone selling a game or two and then suddenly stumbling upon 60 copies of one game.

I didn't even look at the feedback until Doomstink pointed it out. Definitely doesn't seem like the same person.
Anyway, as far as feedback goes, as was mentioned earlier, the person who "sold" us the $15 360 controllers had very good feedback. He had even recently sold a bunch of stuff. Feedback is meaningless if the account was hijacked, which seems like it's definitely a possibility here. The only odd thing is that it's just one item. But as someone else mentioned, they could be trying to make it less obvious, now that people are catching onto this game.

To comment on those who said to be weary of this because of possibly not getting a refund. A few years back I was scammed by a CAG person for $70. I filed a complaint and won, but the guy emptied his PayPal account and there was nothing they could do about it.
When the whole $15 360 controller thing happened I decided to jump on the Zune he was sellng. I of course did not get my item, so I actually CALLED PayPal and spoke with CS. Retailers offer Resistance 2 for 60, yes (isnt that a sin?), but the "regular eBay price" for this game has always been in the 20 dollars section.

Even is this seller was real, he really never lost any money.
i mean, is not like he can head to his local game store and say " i would like 40 dollars for this game considering you selling it for 60"
right?
he might as well just sell them as a buy it now product

They definitely would have sold still for a few dollars more but yeah it could be legit.
I think ebay takes 15% of all buy it now sales for video games on top of the listing fees so how this seller would make any money off this is beyond me unless they were gotten in some shady manner.
Either way they should have just charged more for shipping and sold the game for less to keep the max amount of money out of ebays greedy hands.

Yeah, I thought I was out the $15 with the controller fiasco. After I won the dispute, though, the e-mail did make it sound like you can still be screwed out of your money. Unfortunately, I deleted it, so I can't paste the exact wording. Maybe, someone else has won a dispute recently and could? I know it was along the lines of "if the seller's account does not have sufficent funds, we will take steps." Again, I don't remember exactly, but I had a feeling I wasn't getting my money, but then it showed up a little while later.
Anyway, this isn't such an amazing deal that it's necessarily a scam. Still, there are good points other poster brought up to make me think something up: the different style of description, the fact they are suddenly selling a ton of copies of one game, etc. Good luck to everyone. You'll probably get your money back if this goes up in flames, so not really a big deal, I suppose. I was just trying to help people out that didn't want to get taken.

I told them the story about me not getting my money back from the last dispute I filed and asked if the guy emptied his account would I be out of my money no matter what. I was told that in the past that was the way things worked, but now whenever you use PayPal and eBay it is 100% covered if you win the dispute.
I personally would have bought this game from the seller if I did not already have the game.
Hasn't paypal changed it's policy, effective this year, that a seller cannot empty their account (or that the funds remain in limbo) until someone leaves positive feedback for the transaction?

Just checked the USPS website a few minutes ago and there's information up. The package is being sent Media Mail, I think. There's also delivery confirmation.
Since I live in Indiana, I figure I might get this somewhat quick. At least by the end of the week at latest. Hopefully everything here turns out alright for everyone involved.

He just relisted more, but the price went up to $20. I wouldn't worry about getting scammed. a couple of years ago I found a stack of Dynamite Cops for Sega Dreamcast all new and sealed. I kept getting emailed with people asking to see more pics because the $9.99 with free shipping was too good to be true.
I'm going to wait and see if you "guinea pig" CAGs get the game. If all is legit, I'll prolly order one (just to send it to the backlog pile).

Same here, I am in Illinois, so we should find out fairly quickly.

"We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your
favor.
If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to
recover the balance from the seller.
If the seller's account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed
to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the
seller's account, which may include limitation of the seller's account
privileges."
From the 360 Controller fiasco. They decided in my favor, and I did get my money back, but it can always go downhill. Although in this case video games are treated as a high-risk item and the seller should not be able to touch the money for a while.

For the zillion other reasons people mentioned. The description of the item did not seem like it was written by the same person. The person had little feedback concerning games. They mostly seemed to sell baby-related items, judging by previous feedback and the user name. They did not seem like an active seller. And then suddenly, they were selling dozens of a copies of a game. If it wasn't a scam, then fine. But everytime this stuff pops up, which has been a lot lately, people bitch, moan, and cry about it after they find out it was nonsense. People were simply trying to point that out.

CONFIRMED. Recieved mine today. New and in plastic. All you douche skeptics can SHOVE IT. For those who missed it the original seller is still selling the game but for a slightly higher price - $17.oo + $3.00 Shipping. So $20 total.

Here we go again...
Looks like you were basically calling us idiots for buying the game from this seller.........
I received my copy of the game today.

Wow, some of you people really need to go to another community, because you act like a bunch of children. People try to help you, and you insult them. Honestly, you look at everything there, and it definitely looked fishy. That is all bigdaddybruce44, Dommstink, myself, and others tried to point out. And rather than just say, "Thanks for the information. Thankfully everything worked out," you act like a bunch of brats, sticking your tongues out at us the whole time. Good job. At the very least, I see a few idiots who can go directly onto my ignore list, never again having to read your retarded nonsense.

I do agree that a couple people in the thread went on the defensive real quickly when this thread popped up and people questioned how legitimate it was. But to flame people here who lended their opinion and told us to be wary with this deal were right to do so.
A few days ago, none of us knew if this was going to be a legit deal. That doesn't mean we should bombard each other with insults over the whole thing. Now we know that this deal looks to be legit with a few CAGers. Doesn't mean we need to shove it in the faces of the naysayers, they were just adding their opinion on something that didn't look right to them. It's no big deal.
If this whole thing was indeed a grand bamboozling in the end, it's just a lesson learned to CAGs about what they need to look for in the future. I also believe that PayPal probably would have refunded us what we spent after whatever investigations completed.
But let's knock off the "I TOLD YOU SO" bullshit. The only thing a few posters did on this thread was to throw up some warning flags they seen from previous scams. Can't say I blame them. In fact, we should be thanking them for looking out for fellow CAGs. I'm sure everything they said here was not out of spite, but words of caution to things like this in the future.

 Hilarious.
The "advices" were wreaking of logical fallacy when the dummies compared the sale price of a controller, which retailers rarely ever drop the price of, to the price of a video game, which is prone to drop regardless of how great/popular it is. Also the seller accepted Paypal, making the worse case scenario a full refund. Add on to the fact that Resistance 2 has been on eBay for around $25-$30 for quite some time now, and you get an "lol".
It was a case of "hey, I'm not going to buy it because of so and so, and it's probably not a good idea if you buy it" -- and they were wrong.
Ignore me, ignore us, no one cares. There are people on the internet who are not sensitive to that. It doesn't work on me. I don't believe I will lose sleep tonight over that, but I'll get back to you about it tomorrow morning, just to be sure.
As for me, I haven't opened my copy of the game, and probably won't anytime soon, but I doubt the price gets lower than $18 for a new copy.
Thanks for the deal.

Got my new copy in the mail yesterday. I'm glad it turned out to be legit, but I do appreciate those of you who pointed out the red flags. I have no problem with you trying to warn other CAGs when you think you smell something fishy. I took those warnings under advisement, but decided to do it anyway.

Yeah, mine still hasn't arrived. Last checkpoint was from Forest Park, Illinois on the 21st. Seeing as I live in Indiana, I'm a little surprised that I haven't got it and even moreso that the status hasn't updated since then.
If I don't get it tomorrow, I'll probably call USPS.

Got mine today. Unfortunately, mine has a pretty sizeable crack in the top of the case (more shattered looking than cracked). It was brand new and sealed tho, and the disc is fine. Debating whether or not to contact the seller and see if they have another case (since I'm particular about my new games actually having cases perfectly intact).
Anybody have a spare PS3 game case laying around by any chance? Willing to pay shipping for it.
Got mine today too. Brand new sealed in immaculate condition.

Guys, check your eBay accounts when you have the time. It appears that my account has been hacked. I don't know if this has anything to do with this auction, but it's the last activity I did with it.
I'm currently on eBay's live support to try and figure out what happened.
