EB and Gamestop are saying they cant even fill all their pre-orders and the rest wont get filled to AFTER thanksgiving! I bought two today and put one up for auction...

I just looked through some of your old auctions and feedback. The collector mentality just blows my mind. I can understand paying a premium on games that are not otherwise available like Panzer Dragoon Saga and Suikoden 2, but paying $355 for the same game that is readily available for $15, just because it is a different cover, in addition to which, the game will most likely never be played, as that would devalue it immensely, is just incomprensible to me.

This is in no way a slur on your character, I just don't understand the buyers. I also don't understand the people who a) could not tell that the Canadian Thanksgiving was a joke, and b) had a problem with it being a joke. "Screaming FIRE in the movie house"? Lighten up, Francis.

I have no problem believing that it is sold out in the OP's area, as it probably is in many other areas. I have no problem believing that it is available in many areas as well. It's early yet but this is the most pathetically needy person I've encountered today. The fact is that anyone who pays more than SRP for a PStwo is a drooling moron. This platform already hady over 30 million units installed on this continent. Until the next major price drop nearly everyone who cares about running PS2 games is already spoken for. Ever after factoring in all the failed units, secondary purchases for portability and/or attractiveness of the new model, etc., it is very hard to believe Sony is going to have any great difficult keeping the retail channel supplied.

Any auction that begins with the premise of scarcity immediately earns my scorn and contempt.

For me anyways, I have no problem with the auction or this person selling a PSTwo. The tactics in which he goes about to try to sell it is where the problem lies. I have the same problem when corporate stores do the same thing. They try to create a demand much more for a product then what actually exists. I do not like it when Gamestop tried to tell me that if I did not preorder Paper Mario 2, that I would not get a copy on release date. Period. End of story. Funny, I strolled into Best Buy and bought a copy the day it came out. I also checked in that GS when I was at the mall and they had it up for sale. Same thing happened for me at Best Buy when the original GBA came out. I think every department store has tried this tactic on someone at some time, and to educated people, it is insulting.

This guy is using the same tactics by proclaiming that no one will be able to purchase a PSTwo until at least Thanksgiving. That is simply not the case. The purpose behind it was not to try to help anyone out. It was to try to get people to compete with their money against one another to drive up his price. I too find this insulting, and judging by other people's responses, I am not alone.
