This is the cheapest I have ever seen this stick, so I doubt it will last long once word gets out. If you still do not have an arcade stick, or are looking for another one this is a good choice.
Pros-
- Sanwa Stick
- Quick disconnects for easy modding
- Solid weight
Cons-
- Stock Hori buttons (they are not that bad but Sanwa or Seimitsu are better)
- Lack of a turbo option for SHUMP players

Ordered one. Orders are not fulfilled by Buy.com, but by some third party vendor that normally doesn't sell this type of merchandise (Solid Signal?). Probably a mistake.
Paid through amazon, just in case. I'd rather deal with them for refunds.
Jesus freaking christ, I wish this was PS3

How does this compare to the stick in the Tekken 6 bundle?

I would say the hrap ex is a lot better. Arcade quality joystick, much better build quality.
I'd jump on this if I didn't have the MadCatz TE already.

It takes a dump all over its chest then sodomizes it over and over.
Non Sick Fuck version - This stick is 10 times better.

Where are the American style sticks at? The Japanese ones are so awkward.

What does these normally go for? I'd like a good stick for the 360, but 60 is daunting to me (even though this is a good stick)

MSRP is $130, which is what it's currently at on amazon.

Thanks for the response-- I may have to bite on that. That's a great deal, then.

You can get HAPP sticks direct from HAPP ;

I would recommend the Perfect 360 stick from them it is very good. If you are looking for a prebuilt arcade stick, there are a few custom build sites that will make you one. I think the last company that used American parts was last gen and that was Nuby Tech. You can still find their sticks on Ebay and Amazon for around $100+.

I'm going to assume no since the data boards are different, but will this work on PS3?

That's what I though =-/ I wish they would drop it for PS3 so I can play my fihgters with joystick...haven't bought one for PS3 yet because they are too expensive right now, even if using Sanwa parts all the way (excluding unneeded buttons like start , select). I like Sanwa better than the other one

If you want one mostly for SHMUP and classic arcade games, is this a good stock or should I spend the extra for the EX-SE?

I've read that the SE is better for shmups. I like Seimitsu (SE) sticks better myself.

I'm thinking about going with an SE from ebay. Price is about $100 shipped from one seller there. I mainly want it for SHMUPS, Pac-Mac CE, etc. It's a bit hard to pull the trigger at $100, though. Hmm.

Check SRK.com for a guide to mod it. Though you really don't need a guide it is as simple as taking it apart and plugging in the new gear. That simple as for shops for where to buy buttons;
http://www.lizardlickamusements.com
http://www.akihabarashop.jp
I have ordered a lot from both places, both are safe just depends on what you are looking for.
For those asking if you should get an EX-SE for now it would be cheaper to mod this stick with the parts than to buy a SE which is $130-140, with this one shouldn't cost you more than around $90-100 modded.

This one is better hands down. The SE is a more for first time users to sticks, where you will need to replace everything in it down the road if you want better parts. Though the SE does have turbo options if that is what you are after.
If you have any more question check out the thread here at CAG, a lot of useful info was put together from MarkMan, on top of that is where the rest of us stick nuts hang out which I'm sure they could get to answering any and all questions faster than I have been.

Thanks for the links folks. I love fighting games, but have avoided them due to the crappy d-pad. Looking forward to playing them again.

Finally decided to go the EX-SE route. Bought one from ebay for $98.99 shipped, but 8% Bing cashback ($7.92) and $1.98 ebay bucks. So, in effect, $89.09, if you're willing to accept all that as price reductions. :) I wanted the Seimitsu stick, especially, and adding that and buttons to this EX was probably more expensive.
EDIT: I'm hoping I'll be able to plug this stick into my Mac mini for MAME as well - it's a bit unclear if that works or not. I do have the Mac driver for the 360 controller, so presumably this should work fine with that. Anyone tried it?

Looks like the price went up $10.00. Got my stick today, and it's the real thing. Never heard of SolidSignal, but they delivered.
After playing around a bit, I think I like the SE better.
