I saw Gamestop have the sign Free Download Pikachu start Feb. 1 to Feb. 14 something. Bring your pokemon Pearl, Diamond or Platinum.

First, it's a pikachu colored pichu.
Second, the main point of this is that if you buy one of the new pokemon games coming out and walk around in a certain area with this pichu in your party, you will get a one time chance at a pokemon you normally wouldn't be able to catch.... A spiky haired pichu! (Wahoo)

That flyer says nothing about having to buy one of the new games coming out, it says to bring in your diamond, pearl, or platinum. The only thing it does say about the new games is that you can unlock a secret pokemon in Heart Gold and Soul Silver by trading the special Pichu to them.

Oh, so it's like the game is trying to help you get the Pichu Brothers, from the cartoon?

I got my Pichu yesterday. Played around with it last night. Aside from Volt Tackle, it's pretty useless.
