The bookshelf holding up my TV, Xbox, etc is collapsing, I need a new one, and I need it right now. Who has some cheapass TV stands? I don't need a bigass entertainment center, and I don't want to pay too much. Certainly under $50. I've checked walmart.com, target.com, etc, and none of them strike me as great deals. Walmart.com used to have one for $20, but its gone.

Anyone seen anything anywhere?

Try office depot. I found a printer stand for $30 that I'm using as my TV stand. It's currently holding a 32 inch TV, my digital cable box, my VCR, and my Xbox, plus the center speaker for my surround sound. So, basically, it has all the shelves you need for all your stuff.

Wow, office depot's navigation sucks. Can you show me a picture of what you have? I'm looking at a few "equipment stands" that could work, but I'm concerned about sturdiness. My TV is from 1985 and weighs a ton. It would probably be cheaper to buy a new TV than to keep replacing TV stands every few months.

Staples stand (url is too long) (http://www.staples.com/Catalog/Browse/sku.asp?PageType=1&Sku=518614&bcFlag=True&bcSCatId =2&bcSCatName=Furniture&bcCatId=98&bcCatName=Compu ter+Desks&bcClassId=70303&bcClassName=Computer+Des ks&bcSSetId=1009689&bcSSetName=O%27Sullivan+Easy%2 Dto%2DGo+Computer+Furniture+Collection)
Kmart one looks like crap and will probably break though.

I've always looked at furniture as something that it really doesn't pay to be to cheap when buying... you end up paying more money in the long run by having to replace it.

Target has some cheap modular tv stands I think each piece is 20 bucks We have a couple in our home, they look nice, are very sturdy, are nice and small (I like the minimalist approach to home furnishing) but If I evcr want to add on its not a problem.

what i use is an old old night stand i got from salvation army.

it was 8$ and holds stuff amazingly well. dont limit yourself to traditional tv stands or youll get ripped off becauseeven at salvo they are 15-30$

I managed to snag 2 Store-model Sony stands at a Montgomery Wards that closed about 5 years ago for $30 each. I have them double-stacked full of consoles with my 27" on top. I *heart* my set up. :)

Seriously though, look around your area for stores that are closing down. You can usually find good stuff that they normally wouldn't sell for amazing prices.

Good luck!

My monitor is bigger than your TV punqsux...

A friend picked one up for me for $40, its not too bad, more than I wanted to pay but I needed one right now, my bookshelf collapsed.

Cardboard TV not included.

I bought my last TV stand from Bradlees when they were going out of business for $20, it eventually broke and I used a $10 bookshelf until now. Kinda pissed at what I had to pay but what can you do...

Hey dafoomie....Thats the exact one I have...youll be happy with it...My suggestion is, is dont use the turnstyle on the top...it will bend from the wieght...it has tons of space inside and I could fit my xbox and ps2 in that shelf and my gcube next to my 19" TV which will hopefully be upgraded to a 20" flat screen samsung soon...

I'll get a picture of my configuration if I can... I have a bigass stereo reciever on the bottom shelf with a vcr on top, and on the higher shelf I have a ps2 and Xbox side by side. Had to put my Dreamcast and Saturn on top of my speakers on either side of the stand. Works much better than the bookshelf I was using, but I need to find places for my NES, SNES, Genesis/SegaCD. Maybe on top of the TV.

The one I have is the OSullivan one you linked from Staples.

I know it doesn't look sturdy and when you put it together you won't think it is sturdy, but I sat on top of it to stress test it and it never made a creek or wobbled at all. I weigh 180, so as long as your TV weighs less than that, you shouldn't have a problem.

Oh, also I left the wheels off because wheels on stuff looks cheap.

I'd have gone with the O'Sullivan if I had time, it was only $35 delivered. Kinda sucks when you need something right now, but this one isn't so bad.
