Some problems im having with counter strike...please help!!

ok these have been going on for a while now and its pissing me off Xop

i cannot vote or do anything that involves pushing numbers (team radio message, race selection in wc3 mod, ect.)

my voice chat does not work. i can thest the mic in the options and hear my voice on my system, but when i go into the game i hold down the key and talk. the speak icon appears in the lower right of my screen, but i cannt talk.

how come people can jump higher than me? some people can make it up on boxes i cant, is there a trick to it that i dont know?

For voice chat, did you enable it in your options? If you did, dont know how to help you =P
As for the boxes, you go over to it, crouch (duck) and then jump. You jump higher that way. It depends on the angle and timing and specific boxes also. Some boxes on the side, the ground is slanted up makes it easier to jump on box from there.
Other reasons for you not being able to not reach boxes and others can:
1) Warcraft 3 skills - Undead Race
2) Had a teammate crouch down and use him as a step to get there.

No, don't duck then jump...You need to jump in the air first and as you are reaching the top of your jump, press crouch.

What type of keyboard are you using? Some keys have more than one function on certain keyboards and you may have a "function" button that you need to press to disable it.

It's basically a button that will allow certain keys to do more than their original function. I.E. access a certain file on your computer by pressing the F10 button.

It interferes with my voting buttons for certain games, kind of how you described it.

Apparently you haven't learned the oh-so-helpful jumping that ducking so you "jump higher". Actually, you're not jumping higher, put you're pulling your legs up so you can barely reach the top of crates and whatnot. It's very useful.

I think prolly some server or admin screwd with your configuration file located in your cs/cs folder, config.cfg.

If I were you, I would test just that first. Delete that file into the recycling bin, or move it out of that folder, into a new created folder I suppose, just name it config folder inside your Cs>Cs. Then join a game, and quit. Then with the new config, I'd start up Counter-Strike again, and chance config from there. After your happy and set with your settings, quit cs, and make the config.cs file read only < (the new one that was created when you joined a game). Lets see how it turns out.

Hooray, you got it working, I came late to the party. Just to re-interate. You jump, and when at the top of the jump, press and hold crouch while pressing the direction key forward the box.

To gain maximum height, have another player crouch, jump on his head. Have him get out of crouch, then have him continually start jumping while you jump. If you time it right, you will jump off his head at the height of his jump, then when you jump off his head, press crouch at the height of your jump. This can get you to some quite high locations.
