I'm wondering if I got a good deal on Ikaruga, I got a used copy for 18 at GS but its in good condition with manual. Is it really that rare of a game?

I think the Dreamcast version is rare, but the Gamecube version is not rare. I'd consider anything under $20 a good deal.

It's Medium-Rare.

The important thing is that no matter good you think you are at videogames, Ikargua will lower your "gaming self-esteem". So hard, but so cool.

I got it for $16.99 new... But it is well worth $18 used.

I have to say Prince of Persia is a much better game, IMO. I was tired of IKARUGA after about 10 minutes. Extreme repitition. Insanely difficult.

I loved that game. I love most of those type of fighter games. Very fun, and gets a little repetitive but is it worth it once you accomplish beating it. I got it for $20 at Fry's and would say that it is fairly rare on the Gamecube, sometimes just depending where you live, and super rare on the DC.

Nope, it isn't rare, but I heard that it was good.

Very good, hard as everything. Did I mention for $18 that's a good deal?

yah, dat's like saying "oh tetris isnt that great, it's get repetitive"

the fun in ikaruga comes from not playing the game, but freakin solving it. anyone can shoot and dodge, hence why the game's difficulty isnt as hard as gradius. It's all about shooting enemies in certain patterns and orders so that you can max combo the stage. that's freakin mastery rite there

Good space shooter but it is not rare.

It's not really that rare for Gamecube, but it doesn't matter because it's a great game, especially if you're a fan of Treasure or the shooter genre in general. Although beating the game is an accomplishment, the real challenge is getting high scores by chaining the enemies in each level. Check out www.ikaruga.co.uk for great videos.

My local Super Walmart has it for $40.

50$ new at a local small game shop, dunno if it's worth it...

I've seen it for $25 new lately at a GS, but it's pretty rare to get it new. I've seen a few GSs have used ones for $20, so no, I would not pay $40 or $50 for it. I paid $35 for a new one quite a while back.

I wouldn't call it rare, but I'd call it slightly uncommon. I got mine for 20 bucks on BB.com about a year ago, so, I'm glad I did when they had it in stock.

Sure it took like 3 weeks to ship, but it was worth it, definately. One of the best GCN games to come out.

I would say that Metal Slug 3 for XBox is definently rarer and harder to find that Ikaruga.

Ikaruga is getting pretty hard to find new now. Still, unlike, say Rez, you can still find it if you look hard enough.

I think Metal Slug 3 is a lot easier to find than Ikaruga. I can find ms3 in Houston almost anytime. But regarding Ikaruga for DC, I hope you all mean the import version right? Because there wasn't a domestic one for as far as I know.

Has anybody beat this game yet? I've had it for about a year now and I can't get past level 4! Sure it only has 5 levels, but man, this game is SO HARD!
 :x

I still love it though, easily one of the best games to come out for a long time.

None of us were ever talking about the DC version.

It's games like this that make me wanna kill myself. That and every Mega Man game I've played except X2, because I apparently suck at them...

I dunno why everyone says the game is so bad. Don't get me wrong, I know it is hard but even though it is difficult, I always feel like the reason I died was on my own part not because of the game being cheap. I hate games that are hard because they are cheap, but Ikaruga is a game that test one's skills not one'sm patience. That is why the game is one of my favorites.

All of you "repetitive" people - did you guys even live in the 90s, much less the 80s? Have you ever played a shooter? A puzzle game? An Atari game for christ's sake?

Hey I saw a sealed copy at compusa for 27, should I pick it up for you? Of course you would have to pay me more than that.

I can beat it with numerous continues. I have never gotten past level 3 on one credit though (at gamefaqs.com, there are several people who've gotten over 25 million on the game. It's insane. I've gotten almost 7 million once.

I don't think the game is rare. There aren't a ton of copies out there, but I don't think there is a huge demand. Too bad, its a great game. I paid $20 new for it awhile back (when bestbuy.com was blowing it out). Anythhing in the 20 range is well worth it.
