Hey, I was looking to get some more anime this Christmas and I decided to start browsing animekrazy.com and discountanimedvd.com again. I can't really find anything I want but the Beserk Complete Collection for about $30 looks tempting. But I've never watched it before, is it good? If it is, how so, do you think I'd like it if I enjoy Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, Ninja Scroll, and Akira? Also, what're some series you think I should look into? I'd prefer some that I could buy a import complete collection for about $30.

$30? Well that might be the bootleg/HK version of it. But I HIGHLY suggest Berserk, but you must note that the anime is just a marketing tool for the manga. The manga is where its at, most epic manga I have ever read. I think you should watch the anime, then read the manga right away. The anime is a great intro the the manga, you'll see why :) You should really try to enjoy stuff out of the mainstream anime scene, and Berserk is a great start.

Gundam Wing is good along with its movie with the mecha fights in space and little loveness in it.
Trigun is always a good laugh and nice shooting action, kinda on the search for revenge kind of plot.
Berserk you should definatly get, bloody killings are always a good watch and storyline is good too with a little love of course fights in war and against demons and .
I want to saw Escaflowne.. but I'm a bit bias on it since that is my favorite anime. But get it if you like some machine fightings and family/love storyline.
ok so it's like a poor review.. but I recommend those for now.. I know there is much more..
Hellsing.. duhh -if your into vampires and the dead huntings
Excel Saga.. if you want something realllyy random
Samarui X- cmon.. it's Kenshin ^_^
or ask for a computer with more gig this Xmas.. and download the animes ^_^ like Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto *definatly a must*,Gundam Seed Destiny if you haven't seen Gundam Seed yet then you should or whatever one you want..

They are Bootlegs dude. They're not official in anyway. There are eastern companies (mobfronts) that simply rip japanese DVDs and get fansub script translations. Sometimes they steal the Fansubs altogehter (Like who are they going to call? the police?)
yeah they're imported but they're imported from countries like Taiwan who cant really stop the massive operations completly and just ignore them.
As for what I'd suggest I think the question is what do you like first before people offer up their favorites since they have sooo many differnt shows to choose from.

Being a gamer and not much of an anime fan, I must suggest Street Fighter II V. I loved it.

Yeah too bad they made Ken and Ryu look like a gay couple and Sagat and Ryu became FRIENDS!

inuyasha is the greatest. i watch that show all the time (except the older ones since i have seen them all on cartoon network). trigun is also a good show, but i don't watch it much anymore.

SFVII was okay but 15 episodes of watching ryu practice a single fireball is too much.
I suggest Read of Die-TV since no one else has.

That pretty much rips a chunk out of Sagat's entire storyline right there. Lame.
I'd suggest Hellsing, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Evangelion, Naruto, and Love Hina. As for some more of less popular, but still animes, there are Samurai 7, Windy Tales, DearS, and Sokyuu no Fafner.

I've been enjoying Steel Angel Kurumi and Soul Hunter recently. Should be able to get the full series of both for under $40.

Bebop is a must. I like Trigun too. Just started Steel Angel Kurumi, and i like it. Blue Gender is pretty good. Havnt decide on Evangelion, the first disc was so-so. Didnt care for Excel Saga, was to over the top for me.
Thats just some CAG input.
