I just picked up my copy of Nocturne from ebgames, they let me trade in some cds for store credit, and some of the prices were pretty decent:
$4.20 for LA woman(the doors)
$4.20 prince 1999(yeah yeah laugh all you want, but this was some good shit to play when you are freakin a little chick)
both of these were scratched to hell, and no used cd store would take them, so i was very happy to pawn them off at ebgames, they NEVER check the condition of anything. The cds have to be complete with original case and cd booklet
There was a lot of crap they wouldnt take(toy story, the soundtrack) or would only offer fifty cents on a few of them(cant remember what else they outright refused, and what they only offered fifty cents)
But if you have loads of cds that you no longer listen to, or it is too badly scratched to take to a used cd shop, then bring it to ebgames and they may take it.
They also give pretty decent credit on anime dvds(i traded in Ys book one, the dvd, and they gave me $6 for it, i know gamerush/blockbuster will give 8 per dvd right now, but gamerush does not get the superfine niche titles like nocturne or metal slug 3 or the time crisis games)
When my preorder of nocturne came in, eb called me and said to bring in dvds and cds for trade in credit, normally they just call and say the game is in. So not sure if this is YMMV or a new promotion at all ebgames.

yeah, ebgames has been doing cd trade in for awhile, though the best place I've found is FYE. I got roughly $100 in credit for about 25 crap cds that were all 10 years old or older. Stuff that the record store wouldn't take as trade in. Was able to get it put on a gift card that I could use to buy stuff online as well.

I tried to trade in a few SWV CD's and a rare japanese Mary J blige CD. They only gave 60 cents for the SWV CD's, and they couldn't even find the Mary J Blige CD in their system.

you know all they do is send them to another store (Sam Goody i think) and they sell them as used there.

Actually I saw one EB that did sell the music CD's. A lot of 'em probably do just dump them all at another store in the mall though.

Interesting, this is news to me, I've never seen an EB that sells CDs. I'll have to remember to look for them at some of the EBs around here in the future.
And if anyone is laughing at your Prince-1999, they gotta answer to me first. Prince absolutely kicks ass, and 1999 is a classic album. And he's from Minneapolis, so he's a source of MN pride too.

man now i am regretting getting rid of it....
not really, i was just really wanting to bring the price down on the nocturne. I think that will be the last time i ever buy a game for fifty dollars.

I find it funny they gave you 4.20 for those CD's a piece... :P
A sign, perhaps?

Can anyone tell me if FYE or EBGames will take the CDs if they don't have their cases? By the way, thanks for this "deal" (i guess", because there are alot of CD's i don't even listen to anymore.

My store's been selling cd's since April. We now have roughly 500 or so.
Price's are very good. Most of them range from $2.99 to $5.99.

i now have a box of cd's ready for trade in. Is there a limit as far as quantity of a single cd? i have four copies of Bjorks dancer in the dark soundtrack...we were giving them away at the movie rental place i worked at...but no one took them. I used some for "tests", but ive still got a few.

i work at eb games and they ussually don't take the cds unless they have they case and artwork. ususally most eb games just send the cds that they get straight back to their corporate office. but if you want to buy them and you find them they are usually at good prices.

i want one. i like bjork(and thought dancer in the dark was a kickass film). i would trade you a jampack winter 03 or a killzone demo for one of your bjork freebies.
Oh man, this is  admitting to listening to bjork and prince.
They also take old cell phones now.
Do you mean EB or FYE takes cell phones?
