I saw that in the paper yesterday.. facing up to 2 years in jail. That's absurd for something so stupid.

Dude, wait.... What kind of a system puts innocent people who expose themselves to children in prison when Osama Bin Laden is still free.
Now I know I'm chic.

or how about a small fine? geez.

Every time I see the word "streaker", the streaker music from LSL: Magna Cum Laude plays in my head.

He should have been given a small fine.

That's what happens when people think a child's innocence has been trodden upon. I think its absurd too. Martha Stewart didn't get that kind of time. That being said, it should be common knowledge that public nudity is illegal. He should get some time but a possible max of 2 years is stupid.

Agreed. I also think that if it was a female streaker she would have gotten off easy (please no crude jokes, lol). I remember when a lady streaked at Wimbledon and merely got a fine and an order to not show up there again. Children were there too. Of course that was Europe though. I bet if a girl did that instead of that guy she still would have gotten a lighter sentence. I am not sticking up for the guy but that kind of sentence is ridiculous. Even some drunk drivers don't get that kind of sentence (Leonard Little for the Rams). He should have had a 1 month max sentence, a fine and community service. I think the fact that he wasn't supposed to be there playe a part in the ruling too.

Expanding on GuilewasNK's comment, didn't Martha Stewart do something illegal that involved a shit-load of money and she got six months as well?

regardless, a streak is not worth jail time. That's just the cops abusing they're power so in they're mind that'll convince others to not do it. Utter ridicolous

Law enforcement is most efficient when the guilty party is an average Joe who pays his taxes, has a permenant residence, no aliases, is sound of mind, and holds a steady job. That's their time to shine, and to make an example out of the dangerous felon (was this streaker even guilty of a felony?) If the perpetrator is a jobless, tattooed, drugged-crazed loser with no easily traceable background information, police don't know where to drive to to arrest him and can only ask you, the common citizen, to please please please help find this dangerous man for them (1-800-DOMY-JOB) so that he can be brought to justice. If the guilty party is a famous, wealthy celebrity, he'll turn himself in so he can do time in a "prison facility" that's more nicely equipped than many people's apartment complexes. Look at that, I think I just channeled George Carlin (the older, angry version) ...and he's not even dead.

Um....ok...

The world isn't that screwed. If it was you wouldn't be on CAG :)

Saying all cops are bad or pigs is just as bad as cops saying all kids are potential criminals. Neither side should stereotype.

RBM - You F'ing rule- I love your answer- exactly damn right.

Problem is that cops are people too- people are generally lazy- who do I want to bust--

Option 1- bust someone who will probably try to kill me, but if I do I'll stop them from killing and hurting people.

Option 2- Pretend that I don't see the crime and bust people who pay taxes for speeding, jaywalking, whatever because I'm really a pussy at heart.
