Just got back from target, where i had to pick up some bread and i noticed that General Mills cereals are carrying cartoon dvds inside the packages. One of the dvds features the old Super Mario Bros cartoon.
In addition the GM brands are 3 for 7 dollar on sale so I picked up a few boxes of Cin toast crunch and cocoa puffs.
The smb show is nothing special imo. So i wouldnt bother picking up unless you are a fan of the show, or need to fill your quota for the bread and cerals group.
Yeah, I bought my Cinnamon Toast Crunch and found a SMB DVD included. I was surprised, but I used to like the show. I haven't watched it yet.

would it not be worth it, just to hear the corny theme song again?
Also I will admit in my younger days to wearing my Dr. Mario sweaters, carrying a Zelda/ Mario lunch box, and watching the mario bros. show everyday after school

a Zelda/ Mario lunch box
I so had the Zelda/Mario lunchbox. It had Link fighting a skeleton going up stairs on a tower, and Mario and Luigi playing Zelda on their NES. :)

For some reason, i wasn't watching the cartoon when it first came out, so going back and watching it wasn't the most impressive thing :). But if it instead was something like Captain N the Gamemaster (which i watched frequently in the day), and is just about as equal quality, id be loving it :).

I got this DVD early in the summer, and I was extremely disappointed. It's not even the same show I remember--I always watched the earlier versions, that had live-action skits, but this one is based on Super Mario Bros. 3.
Maybe it's not the same disc (I think it had a Heathcliff cartoon on it, as well), but if it is, I wouldn't recommend a special purchase just for the DVD.

Oh. I thought it was gonna be the one with the live-action skits in it. I think I remember a show based on SMB 3 but I never watched it.

I'm gonna have to hunt one of these down for my son, he would flip out over something like this. Plus, it beats watching Dora the Explorer constantly, like he does now.

I'll have to add it to the shopping list, I miss the Capt. Lou Mario.

I had the same one, good stuff.
And the SMB3 cartoon was better than the SMB1/2 one, and way better than the SMW one.

I might pick up on of these. I'd be all over it if it was Captain N on DVD though. This one time he hit pause on his controller buckle, and it "stopped time" and allowed him to walk on air to cross this gap. Hahah it makes no sense at all but back then I thought it was really cool. He coulda just pressed A to jump higher.

I'm definently picking these up just for the sheer fact that I'll be able to reminisce on my childhood.

I went to the store as soon as I heard this and picked up a box of "Reese's Puffs" that had the dvd, and am watching it right now. It has one episode of Mario, and two of Heathcliff. Is this the dvd you ere talking about or is there one that has only SMB? Either way thanks for the tip.

Yes, what you've got is the free one. But they're really promos for the 6-episode DVDs.
