Just got this e-mail:
Many of our program participants have asked if and when Halo 2 will be added to the Xbox Online Training Prize Shop. The answer to this question is "Yes. Halo 2 will be added to the program Prize Shop." With your help, Halo 2 has exceeded all presell expectations and recently surpassed 1.1 million presales alone! That is the largest presell number for any video game ever. Needless to say, excitement is high at retail.
As with any Microsoft product, our first commitment is to insure our valued retail partners and customers have access to inventory. Therefore, we need to insure ample supply is made available to our retail partners in order to meet this incredible consumer demand. That supply needs to be maintained on launch and through the Holiday.
Given this inventory commitment to our retail partners and consumers, the availability of Halo 2 in the Xbox Online Training Program Prize Shop is scheduled for a post Holiday release. This allows us to insure that our retail partners have sufficient inventory to meet customer demand on launch and through Holiday. Our current plan is to add the standard version of Halo 2 in the Prize Shop on Monday, January 3. The Halo 2 Limited Edition will not be offered in the Prize Shop as that inventory is reserved exclusively for our retail partners. If for some reason that date should change we will provide an update on the site.
We highly value your contributions to our success as well as your participation in the training program. Our commitment is to provide Halo 2 as a Prize Shop reward. We clearly understand many of you are excited to get hands on game play with Halo 2. That experience surely helps provide you with a solid understanding of the game for which to speak to customers. As you would expect, the online training site will provide numerous opportunities to enhance your knowledge of the game via modules and other Halo 2 resources.
Although Halo 2 won't be immediately available through the Prize Shop, we do have exciting Halo 2 sweepstakes opportunities planned for November. We will offer opportunities to win copies of the Halo 2 Limited Edition as well as some other fantastic Halo prize packages. More details on that will be shared through our regular sweepstakes communications.
Again, thanks for your tremendous support and efforts helping make Halo 2 the biggest video game launch ever!

Sounds good to me. I wasn't planning on buying Halo 2, but for only $8 I might as well see what all the hype is all about.

How many people use this site? My workplace sells used xbox games as an aside, so I'm thinking of jumping on board.

I'm almost positive selling used games doesn't count. Only licensed retailers of new product.

I know games and other products on the retail site need points, and because I dont work at a retail store that sells Microsoft products I was just wondering how you get these points? Is it based on sales, or do you just get them for working?

Unless you work in a business that sells NEW Microsoft software, you shouldn't even concern yourself with it.

Yay a good answer without the "noob" flame. at least some people on here have respect and realize that post count doesnt equal internet experience.

What makes this so funny is that a guy I was playing ESPN NHL 2K5 with on XBOX Live asked me which would be the bigger game in popularity: Halo 2 or GTA San Andreas. When I said Halo 2 because literally every XBOX Live owner and most non-live users were buying it, he argued that the PS2 has a bigger fanbase and got pissed at me. I wish I had these numbers then.

both should be hot titles. If preorders are any indication, at my store Halo2 will sell 3 to 4 times as many copies as GTA. Both though should sell extremely a lot especially due to xmas season.
I already preordered mine at my EB. I knew they weren't going to put up the LE version so thats why I went ahead and did it at my store.
Fable is sold out for everyone. I grabbed mine a couple weeks ago.
