I gotta call my GameStop. I don't think they are doing a Midnight release, but they might.
I'm picking it up at midnight as well, but I don't believe in all of the hype. The only reason I am going at midnight is becuase my EB said they had too many preorders, and not all will be filled. And I also don't think it will be "The best damn game."

I get mine around 5 pm NOV 8 when UPS delivers it to toys rus (I work R zone, so I will take it to cashier outside of the Rzone and buy it(cashier dont know jack about games and release day, i already bougt outrun 2 last thursday)

I'm with you on half of that. I'll be buying the game, and I will be playing it frequently (so I don't agree with your "it's an FPS..."). That said, though, the fanboy fervor is making me ill. I feel as lame as those Star Wars nerds who wait in line for weeks to see the next movie. But oh well, I'll be a happy nerd come 12:30 am on 11/9 when I fire up my first game of Halo 2.

couldnt have said it better myself...its just that san andreas seems to have added more to the series than halo 2 has...but that's just from what i've seen...you cant really judge until you've played both games' final releases...but still from my perspective, that's what i see....

I think it's great. When lots of big releases come out like this, you get to show your interests and allegiances. Kind of like sports boosters for nerds.
Plus, you know these games are something special when they get people riled up. Like I said in another thread, at least people are reacting to it, one way or the other. The trouble would be when it starts getting broadly ignored.

i think the fact that its on live ... makes it so much bigger... i mean that was the biggest thing added from halo 1......imagine all the halo players that now get to play online....there will be games nonstop.
