They took the ugly players choice cases and replaced it with a sticker on the outside of the case. So no more asking the question, PC or non-PC?
I know they started this for the other systems, but I just found Simpsons Hit and Run like this and I was thrilled. I almost wish they could take the older titles and remove the yellow markings from the case.
Long story short...go Nintendo!

Sony has started doing this too, AFAIK. I hope they do that with XBox games. I'm glad that they realize we want original cases.

I saw that today as well on Kirby. Nice to see that they are stopping with the ugly yellow banner (I do not mind the PS2 red, but the yellow sticks out too much)

This has been done for a while, it hasn't replaced them, it is just like the stickers on PS2 GH titles which are done until the real GH printing is ready to go.

Can you describe it a little more, just a sticker on the front, can it be peeled off, where on the case?
Yes it's about time, i hate having to track down non GH cases for my games.

The Sony Greatest Hits line has been doing the same thing, but it seems to be somewhat YMMV. I think it has more to do with being overstocked with the original release than it does with a policy shift.

yep. I see red bannered R&C2's, Rise to Honor's, and SOCOM II's all the time

I think it's more of a doing it for their surplus originals thing, not really a full on switch to this. Wind Waker is a brand new PC and I see amny of them with the ol' yellow on the case design.

exactly right. Its just the stock that is original but with a sticker over it. Thats most likely the truth

This is great, now I don't have to buy every game I want as soon as the price drops so I can still get the original case.

Just got Jak 2 this week at Best Buy with the red sticker. I was pretty happy.

The red Greatest Hits cover has to be the ugliest of the three. I really don't mind Nintendo's that much. But if they did away with it all together, the better.

It's pretty clear to me that they're not doing away with the Player's Choice yellow bar on the box art.
They're just putting these on the old originals until the PC versions come.

Just be happy that Sony isn't using that pea-soup green from the PSX on their PS2 games. Far and away the worst label abomination.

I think zewone posted something about this a long time ago only it was about PS2.

Yes he did. He was (is?) working at a distribution center where he spent all day applying the red sticker over non-GH games.

Pea-soup green?! What kind of radioactive neon green pea soup do you have?!

 Yeah, pea soup wasn't the best descriptor, just the first that came to mind. XtRe3m Gr3eN is what it's official name should be. I mean, it's just so extreme. Like, whoa man, way extreme.

That is exactly right. I saw the older Nintendo PC stickers before. My friend owns a copy of MP with the PC sticker, and, well, now MP is found with the yellow band. They aren't doing away with the yellow band, they're just placing the stickers on games that are a PC that don't have the yellow band to distinguish it from other titles that are not PC.

Ugly, agreed.
