I don't see any clan matches recorded for us on Bungie.net. Maybe we should get some going tonight? Ugamer_X, I think the way to do it is open your friends list, push the D-pad to the right and you will see the list of your clan members. Then you can invite the ones who are online to your lobby to jump into a minor clan match (3-4 players) or major clan match (6-8 players). Anyone correct me if I'm wrong.

I was waiting and waiting to get to play clan vs clan matches (not that I wasn't having a lot of fun playing w/you guys, it was really fun), but I left to play the Campaign and I missed the clan matches!! Oh well, it was very worth it, the Campaign mode is very rewarding... I would've never thought they would have that twist in the gameplay... Play the campaign mode.

here's how the clan battles are going to work: if i see several of you online, i will invite everyone to a match. the first 3-7 people (4-8 if i back out), depending on what size match we're doing, will get to play in that match, which we will search for in the quickmatch system (ranked). as for specific games that i schedule with other clans, i will be pulling the best and the brightest for that - that is, the people who perform well consistently, communicate often, and play defense when needed. i already have my eye on a few people, and i think that this is a fair way to do it. also, from now on mics will be REQUIRED to play in ranked clan matches. i know this sucks for a couple people, but it's worth the investment and we really need to be able to communicate. if anyone finds any of this unfair or thinks they have a better system, go ahead and speak your mind, i'm open to ideas. see you guys online tonight.

update: i'd actually prefer it if for now you guys didn't start up your own clan matches. i've come to realize that not everyone knows all the different modes and maps yet, and i'd like everyone to be totally comfortable before we start playing a lot of clan games.

Is it possible to schedule games with other clans? I thought the pairing system was kind of random for games that count towards the ranking. I haven't tried it, but I would assume if you invited another clan to your lobby and tried to start a minor/major clanmatch it would say you have too many people in your lobby, like it does if you invite a couple of people into your lobby for a Rumble Pit match.

If you are a hardcore SOCOM II Player....all the strategies and skills developed over your 100+ or more hours spent on that game translate incredibly well to HALO 2.

The color for everyone would be fine (and helpful..i use Tan, myself), but the logo's makes it so you can really tell people apart.

It wouldn't really matter. The only distinguishable thing would be the body color, which wouldn't make a difference in clan matches as they are always team games. It would be cool to have a CAG logo for the clan page though.

Any time you get betrayed, it gives you the option to boot the player. So more than likely he was booted by a player. All in good fun though. :wink:

It hurt my feelings too... I was booted before i could give a reason why i accidently killed 3 teammates well until i rejoined 2 minutes later.

well, i will certainly never be cutting people based on skill.

we're currently at 90 members invited, about three-quarters of whom have accepted the invite. if they don't accept it by sunday, and if our list fills up, they will be taken off the list and put on a waiting list. i also realized that by default every person whom i invited to the clan and accepted was made a 'member', who can invite people (therefore we have a couple of, shall we say, rotten apples in the clan). everyone should have started as a 'peon', who can only participate in clan matches. so everyone is back to peon, except for me (overlord), sticky waffles (staff) and cheapy d (member). from here on out promotions will be giving based on performance, communication skills, and participation.

I think we should have a noobie halo 2 MP FAQ put on the first post or some other place on CAG. Stuff like what weapons are good/suck, how ranked games are played, why the sword kicks so much ass, duel weapons vs granades and so forth. I think it would be much more helpful then just reading the manual.

Someone from the clan has to invite you. When they do, you will see the message pop up (provided you are signed into Live). All you do is click the "accept clan invite" option and you're in. :wink: I'm sure rocksolid will, provided we have space as always.

Possibly rocksolid could seperate the list of people for those who are in the clan and for those who have yet to sign up, but still want to be in it. That way CAGers can see how large the true clan is. It's no college admission process but it may help out down the line.

well, i will certainly never be cutting people based on skill.

we're currently at 90 members invited, about three-quarters of whom have accepted the invite. if they don't accept it by sunday, and if our list fills up, they will be taken off the list and put on a waiting list. i also realized that by default every person whom i invited to the clan and accepted was made a 'member', who can invite people (therefore we have a couple of, shall we say, rotten apples in the clan). everyone should have started as a 'peon', who can only participate in clan matches. so everyone is back to peon, except for me (overlord), sticky waffles (staff) and cheapy d (member). from here on out promotions will be giving based on performance, communication skills, and participation.

Today was the first day I played online...I was pretty confused at first. It took me a few games to figure out what assault was and what I was supposed to be doing in it. it's tough to manage a 100-person clan where everyone wants something different, but i'm doing my best. i can't stop you guys from playing clan matches, i was just suggesting we hold off and practice together a lot (that includes me) until everyone at least knew the basics of all the maps, modes and controls. do what you like though. in the mean time, the more competitive people would be rewarded by getting recruited to play in clan matches. from my experience people just in it for the fun prefer to play casually (read: unranked) with everyone else anyhow. i could be wrong. i've done a lot of work thus far to get everyone playing together and in the clan, and i don't think splitting it up will benefit anyone at this point. as i've said, once the clan is full and everyone is signed up in the right places and participating, things will become more organized. in the mean time, cut me some slack. keep the comments coming though, feedback helps.

It was called www.tacticalwhiteboard.com , but it appears to be defunct as of now. it was an interesting little flash application that you could "draw" on and send the flash to clanmates to organize strategies. It was mostly for tactical/military-styled games like Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, SOCOM, etc. The map features on bungie.net are more than I'll ever need though.

Yeah that game was great. It was the longest game i have ever played.

And i was the guy who had the brute grenade launcher and i still couldn't hit you when you up there. So after i saw Cheap got popped i ran like a girl.

Great games last night. That single capture the flag game of Coagulation lasted forever. I eventually had to log, due to lag issues, and by the time I tried to reconnect, someone had taken my spot!

It took me a little while to figure out the basics of Bungies "party" system (hell, I am still learning about some of the options), but once you do, hooking up with other CAG's isnt that hard to do. Invite the clan members that are online, and open the game to matchmaking while you are waiting for it to fill up. Once you start to get a good number of Clan members, turn off matchmaking.

Special thanks to Goosedude for explaining this to me last night. It really should make the process easier.
