Hit Y and go to clan. Then look for Rocks name and click A and you'll see options.

Yeah I just checked there also, this is weird. On XBL it just gives me the option to start a clan. I hope it gets fixed soon, because that is how I choose the games to play in online, I join a clan members game.

I love to play Defense so protecting the flag/bomb is not an issue for me :D

I totally agree that at lower ranks in the match making games you play with some real retards, I was playing (solo with no other Cags) the one (team skirmish) last night and we were on the burial ground map playing assault and my 3 team mates jumped in to the warthog and took off and I was left standing alone staring at the bomb on the ground.

In these ranked games if you get matched with retards is it better to complete the game and lose or quit? Does quiting hurt your rank? if so is does it hurt more than losing a match?

When you quit a game, it will stand the stats you had when you left against what everyone else had at the actual end of the match. So if you leave early, it very well could hurt your rank as you will more than likely place last (and your team may lose as well if they are now short a player).

I played a game last night, and it really pissed me off. It was an oddball match, and you had to hold it for two minutes. I get in, grab the ball, and run. Everything is good, until the game starts glitching! I appear, then I reappear in a different part of the level! It was good at first, since I had the ball, it was throwing off everyone else. Well, it got better, and I was killed. Then, another guy grabbed the ball, and it glitched out again! No one could get ahold of him, and he won! It really pissed me off! Just thought I'd rant a bit.

Yeah that is just crazy, might as well just spawn both warthogs at the other base.
I also had one of my own teammates kill me while we were Standing around on defense, no one else around just me and him. He stands in front of me and shoots one, I ijnored it and then he unloads on me and I die. At least it gave me the option to boot him for betraying me.

That's a smart son of a bitch if you ask me. In all my years playing Halo 1 CTF, I always found it easier to take a warthog by myself to an unguarded or vulnerable area of a base. If you don't seem like a threat, then you won't garner any attention, especially on large maps like WaterWorks. The problem with a full hog is that you create a lot of attention (ESPECIALLY if the gunner is just spraying bullets without a target. PLEASE DON"T SHOOT unless you have a target. You're drawing attention and will get your driver and/or passenger killed. I bet my fucking life on it). With an empty hog, you can sneak across a large map undetected, take the flag, and leave before they een know what's going on. I can't count how many times I've done this on Blood Gulch.

EDIT: I just remembered an old inside joke between my Halo buddy and I that perfectly reflects my thoughts on a full Hog.

To spend 56 minutes playing a single match only to have it go down the drain because no one on the other team was mature enough to even it out is a damn shame. They were giggling like a bunch of schoolgirls in the lobby after the game. Pathetic.

Is that how it really went down ? If it's an inter-clan match you guys (espically the high rank guys) should be willing to change teams to even out the player count. I hate stat whores and hope we don't have too many of them in the clan.

I'll admit you guys got ripped off, but its cause it booted some of you guys out, not cause my group tried to cheat. CheapyD and some dude got booted out of the game. I wasn't even playing much for my team cause I needed to leave and was distracted. Who knows what would have happened really. Its not like we tried to get help on our team that's just how people joined in. Our main defender was with me so the split screen had him messed up anyway.

Though if you go against The Purple Rain without anyone bringing us down, you're done. :)

WildWop - I don't know what to tell you. I told people who joined not to join the red team. I guess I could have booted them, my fault, but I would rather have had them join the blue team. And MADHOTGANGSTER and his brother were also on your team, but switched to ours and sabotaged us with betrayals. I know it is real aggrivating to be winning and all that crap happen, but I hope this is a lesson to the ones who played to have better online etiquette and keep the games fair and fun. If you are joining late: join the team with less players even if they maybe losing. Its the right thing to do. And the blue team was the rightful victors.

WildWop - I don't know what to tell you. I told people who joined not to join the red team. I guess I could have booted them, my fault, but I would rather have had them join the blue team. And MADHOTGANGSTER and his brother were also on your team, but switched to ours and sabotaged us with betrayals. I know it is real aggrivating to be winning and all that crap happen, but I hope this is a lesson to the ones who played to have better online etiquette and keep the games fair and fun. If you are joining late: join the team with less players even if they maybe losing. Its the right thing to do. And the blue team was the rightful victors.

Beyond that if you look at those stats I think we only had one guy over 8 anyway and when you consider I was barely paying attention, my guest had no mic, and we had that one guy killing us its not like we had some great advantage except for the few guys on your team that got booted and again that's not our fault.

Oh and don't buy that one guy's brother BS. He was specifically on my team attacking us at one point and it wasn't a four year old's voice.

I joined the game in the last couple of minutes, and switched sides to try and make it even... or even remotely even. That is why my stats (4-2-3-0) were so low. I wish that I could have made more of an impact.

The lobby situation after the match kind of sucked, but I really didnt know what was going on at the time, and didnt know why people were so bitter. After reading some of the posts in this thread, I understand the situation better, and can see why people were upset.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the next mega-battle clan match. I only hope that I will be a part of it for longer than 2 or 3 minutes.

The boot option for the team killer never showed up or only did at the end, I think it has to be done so many times before it will take effect and he kept switching sides.

If the host is the problem take that up with zewone not me, but its not his fault. We could have closed the game, but beyond that he can't keep people from joining in and playing where they want too.

Also, it isn't like it wasted 50 minutes of anyone's time. Only the last ten minutes or so were a mess. If it wouldn't have ended then I would have quit and our team would have been routed cause I needed to leave, either way it was a shitstorm waiting to happen.

There have already been a bunch of clan matches played. We're 12-21 in minor clan matches and 7-11 in major ones. I've been trying to organize some scheduled ones (instead of just clan matchmaking), but go ahead and start one up if you've got enough people whenever you want. I initially wanted to hold off until everyone knew their stuff, but with this many people we won't be playing with the same people each time anyways so....yeah, go ahead and play 'em. I'll be on nights this week and will get some going with whoever's on if there aren't some going already.

I think the real problem with getting games going is communication. I really can't stand the bungie.net site interface. Perhaps CheapyD could setup a seperate forum off of the main site just for Halo2 so people can start posting available game times or perhaps like a chart of gaming times and people check in when they can be there and play, its hard to get a game going by posting in the same post. Either that or someone with better skills than myself can setup a site all together seperate from CAG for Halo2 CAG clan. All suggestions.

The worst feeling is running in, getting someone in your sights, and lunging right next to them without hitting. If you can get the first down, the rest are usually no problem as they get caught off guard. But if you miss that first kill, kiss your swordey ass goodbye.

I find the sword to be a huge "SHOOT ME" sign. I keep it hidden then whip it out when I want to use it. The damn thing Glows for gods sakes, they can see you from a mile away.

Fire fights usually end up with the players running twards each other. So I wait till the guy thinks we are going to have a fire fight and charges me and then I whip out the sword.

Yeah it does draw alot of attention but that can be useful if you have someone coming from the opposite end with a rocket launcher, especially in headlong. They'll see you and everyone will come after it then you just lay down a couple rockets into the pack from the opposite direction and its all free and clear. Then the sword guy can mop up whatever is left.

Yeah. The targeting reticle is the circle in the middle of the screen that shows you where your aiming at. Once it turns red or "locks on" than pull the R trigger and watch the bodies fly.

Doesn't it seem a bit odd that the match lasted a full 12 minutes, yet the kills were a measly 11-13? Lemme tell you why.

I was playing with some buddies from work in a Team Slayer ranked game. We enter this match, and the first thing the other team does is grab a Banshee. I could have sworn that I read somewhere that Bungie was removing the Banshee from Slayer games; I sure wish they had. After racking up a few cheap kills with it, we saw it drop off the map. Along with every other opposing player.

We thought perhaps they had quit, but they were still showing up in the stats screen. We spent the remaining ten minutes of the game scouring the map looking for the other players. We figured it was some glitch, and a pretty shitty one at that since it left us at 11 kills and the other team had 13.

The match ends, and we hear the other team laughing at us during the Postgame Carnage Report. Somehow, they had all used the Banshee to access some secret part of the map where we could not find them. I was fucking furious, as this counted as a loss for our team.

Anyone know who we can contact about exploits and cheats like this? I scoured Bungie.Net looking for who I should contact, but came up with nothing. Problems like this need to be addressed, esp. in ranked games.
