How did UK video game prices become cheaper in the UK compared to the United States ?

As an example, if I look for Bayonetta on 360 new in US price comparison sites, the lowest price is $37 US, while Amazon UK are selling it for 17.93 GBP about $27 US

will we see a trend of US gamers importing from UK to get better deals ?

When you consider that you have to pay shipping charges of (usually) at least £5 (about $7.50), suddenly the difference becomes much smaller.

It already happened when the UK version of little big planet is a lot cheaper than US version. Site like gogamer can do bunk order so shipping isnt that much.
