Right now I am using Virgin Mobile (pre paid) I have the Kyocera phone which is an absolute piece of crap. It will turn itself on in the middle of the night, it wont charge half the time, and it even calls random people sometimes. I have already had it replaced and the new one doesnt work either. They wont give me a new model they just want to send me the same phone again, and they are junk. What are some other prepaid phones I could look into? I know plans are the best to have but I don't use my phone enough to need a plan, I just want something prepaid. Any help would be appreciated..

You must not understand what I am saying. I dont need a regular monthly plan... I maybe use the phone 20 minutes a month so I don't see the point in paying 39.99 a month or whatever to talk for 20 minutes, thats a complete waste of money.

I used Tracfone when they first came to market around 2001. These prepaid plans wouldn't be such a bad idea if they didn't have the time restriction as well as the minutes of use restriction. My advice would be to sit down and look at what you would spend in a year for a prepaid plan and then look at the wireless carriers in your area and see what their most competitive price plans are. I've had no hassles so far with either Alltel or Verizon.

Have you looked into Boost (Nextel), they're using motorollas, and TMobile uses the Nokia 3390 (what I had before I replaced it with an NGage).. just other options.

at&t has one plan that is like 19.99 a month with only like 200 some minz....but i guess thats still too much if you only talk 20 minz a month.

I used Tracfone before I upgraded to TMobile and got my really nice Samsung phone. Tracfone was really good, the only problem I had was it didn't work everywhere like my TMobile phone does.

20 mins a month? Why don't you just use payphones and save the cash on buying a new phone?

my mom would be thrilled if i only used 20 minutes a month.. my current plan is 800 minutes + unlimited night / weekends + 1000 mobile to mobile, yet i always manage to go over..

i have a virgin mobile too. i got the kyocera 2119b, the first model made for them. I'm looking at the this one. It's a camera phone, so you know it gotta cost a lot at first. Or step up to K9.

I actually ended up buying a motorola V300. It did cost quite a bit ($180) but its got everything on it. It's got AOL, a camera, and you can download some pretty cool games. Their plan rates were the same as virgin mobile so I think I'll be happy with the phone..
