My handwriting is horrible. I was told it looks like a mix of Arabic and Sandscrit.

Sanskrit. And yeah, my handwriting is terrible. It is because I never learned how to hold a pencil properly.

Mine's pretty good except when I'm in a hurry. Which it can change from neat to somewhat sloppy in one paper.

Let me guess. You're asian, mousin. Heck, I'll go one step further and guess that you're chinese. Chinese people (traditionally) place great emphasis on one's penmanship. I'm left-handed, myself, and to correct for that crime against nature my folks made me practice my handwriting for hours on end when I was young. #-o

I havent written anything in script besides my name in 10 years, I print everything now... partially because of my comic book hobby I suppose.

I think my handwriting is pretty good, but I spend a lot of time writing so I get a good amount of practice.

My handwritting is really crappy, but for some reason I really like the way it looks. Ohh I'm pitching a tent just thinking about it....

Strangely enough, my handwriting is really good. I have no idea why.

I cannot write anything in cursive except my own name, which still is pretty terrible. I print all the time. I suppose it is pretty legible.

My handwriting is atrocious but thats the fault of Delaware's public education system. They were just happy I could sign my name as a child.

Luckily I was smart enough to realize I needed to educate myself. So I read voraciously as a child and that gave me some writing skill. Even if it is sloppy.

I learned how to write cursive in school, but never used it.
What kind of sense does that make?

My writing is complete crap. Only I can read it, but its gradually getting worse since I have write notes freaking fast in class.

Only if you make little hearts over your i's.

My handwriting is decent, I usually write in all capitals for work (I work for a Structural Engineering company), and on any details or sketches it has to be good.

Cursive? Thats for squares. It all about writing in all capitals.

Yeah, same here. We spent most of one year learning it and then we never use it for the rest of school.

I remember that too, I think it was 3rd grade but I can't be sure.

The only times I ever used cursive for was practicing and eventually coming up my signature (which doesn't seem to have any discernable cursive characters anymore).

I notice a lot of girls (especially Asian ones) have extremely nice writing, almost font like. Alas, this somehow eluded me as I grew up, and most of the stuff I write is messy and hard to read :\ I like how I write regardless.

I like it when people handwrite their labels for their packages... slightly more interesting and unique than printing out a label (though more likely to be misunderstood by the postman and lost forever).

so i am not the only one that didn't learn how to hold a pencil/pen properly. my hand writing is horrible as well as most others are here.

My hand writing is absolutely terrible - I also cannot write cursive (for the most part - I can wing it. It's just mostly illegible).

I don't print, I type.

I'm pretty much the only one who can read my writing. It's kinda cool, like I have my own special code.

I can't write either, I use to actually print out labels but its amazing what the post office people can read so I don't bother anymore.

Same here I think. My kindergarden teacher would get so angry at me or so I was told because I kept switching hands to write with and holding the pencil wrong. (turned out to be a lefty :)) My handwriting has been complimented a lot, I like it but it's nothing special IMO.

I usually have decent handwriting (albeit big), but usually when I write a note, I'm just jotting it down and I can't find myself caring if it looks good or not...

How long does it take before they figure out that you're not incompetent at writing and just left-handed? I've kinda wondered about that.

Heh, I've held a pen/pencil with 4 fingers since I was little. They tried giving my a triangle thingie for my pencil to try and correct it, but it didn't work. It doesn't help that I write small on top of that.

Mine is so bad I can't even read it. I think it has to do with the rise of computers and typewriters. We became a society that just doesn't have to hand write that much. I taught myself how to type in the fourth grade because I hated writing.

They also made us learn cursive in school, but we never used it again. Infact, most of my teachers require you to print, which is a good thing because I cant remember how to write most of the cursive letters.

The neatness of my handwritting is directly proportional to the effort I put into it.
I can write in cursive perfectly... if I bother to take the time. Most of the time, my handwritting is average, but never illegible.

Handwriting is tiny, all caps, and in print. Cad for so many years the writing just stuck. It is semi-sloppy but mostly readable and thats all that matters. Typing is all i do i hate writing.

From the Pirates of Penzance:

I am the very model of a modern Major-General,
I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical;
I'm very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical,
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical,
About binomial theorem I'm teeming with a lot o' news,
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse.

I'm very good at integral and differential calculus;
I know the scientific names of beings animalculous:
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I am the very model of a modern Major-General.

GENERAL:
I know our mythic history, King Arthur's and Sir Caradoc's;
I answer hard acrostics, I've a pretty taste for paradox,
I quote in elegiacs all the crimes of Heliogabalus,
In conics I can floor peculiarities parabolous;

I can tell undoubted Raphaels from Gerard Dows and Zoffanies,
I know the croaking chorus from the Frogs of Aristophanes!
Then I can hum a fugue of which I've heard the music's din afore,
And whistle all the airs from that infernal nonsense Pinafore.

Then I can write a washing bill in Babylonic cuneiform,

When I can tell at sight a Mauser rifle from a javelin,
When such affairs as sorties and surprises I'm more wary at,
And when I know precisely what is meant by "commissariat",
When I have learnt what progress has been made in modern gunnery,
When I know more of tactics than a novice in a nunnery--
In short, when I've a smattering of elemental strategy,
You'll say a better Major-General has never sat a gee.
