I just saw a commercial saying that if you test drive a Kia (some model) you get a free Shrek 2 DVD. I haven't looked into it yet but sounds straight down my alley.

Saw that tonight also. The thought crossed my mind, but I don't know if it's worth the trouble.

If its just simply filling out paperwork and test driving it and you get a Shrek 2 for free, well count me in, as long it doesn't require applying for a loan.

They don't mention that while you are test driving, the car salesman gets in the drivers seat and you give him road head. But hey, a shot in the mouth for Mike Meyer as a goddamn scottish ogre!?! I'm in!!!

Road head? Maybe for a Mercedes, not a Kia

I did it because I had nothing to do at the time. I also turned 18 only a year ago, and this was my first test drive. I would call in advance to see if they are doing it so you don't waste the time.

I didn't want to act like I was just there for the free DVD so I acted like I was interested in a KIA. It was kinda funny listening to the sales rep tell me how hip and cool KIA's are and how I could really soup them up.

 A "souped up KIA"

you would end up at this site: www.laughatrice.com

I hate people who soup up poopy, inexpensive cars. I mean I have a Scion tC and you don't see me modding it.

I've seen this commercial too much. It's funny the first time, but then after the 10th time, I just want to throw a shoe at the TV.

This is like what they did with the Lord of the Rings DVD a while back, it was the full screen version, though. So, I'm not sure if Shrek 2 has a fullscreen/widescreen version on seperate DVD's, if so, it's probably the fullscreen one they'll be handing out.

I don't know if test driving, waiting, and filling out papers for a few hours is worth a 20 dollar DVD that you could probably get for 15 if you looked around hard enough.

But, I suppose, if you wanted to buy a really expensive car, and wanted a bonus, this could be good in addition to a test drive. Me? I never spend more than 3000 on a car and I've got a beautiful 95 Mustang, with a new interrier, and CD player, it looks brand new. But, I mean, this isn't about my car... :P

God, this commercial is on ALL the time, it drives me nuts to hear the guy say "blah blah blah" over and over again. (sorry, I should probably not leave my TV on all the time)

But hey, free DVDs are always good.

There is a fullscreen version of Shrek 2. If you have a best buy near you and the DVD is still sealed you can take it to BB to exchange it for a WS copy.

When they did it for LoTR, I went in, told them I wanted the DVD for test driving the car. They asked me was I interested in buying a car, and I said no. But I will test drive the car to get the DVD. They just handed me the card to mail in for the free DVD and walked away. (They were rather upset, but I saved everyone time.)

I am going to go up there tomorrow and try the same thing. :-)

Sorry to hear that.....haha....j/k

I avoided Ford though...although the new Mustang was tempting...although I had to settle for the Scion tC. Probably the nicest car for the price out there....IMO
