I saw the video in the latest PSM DVD and I must say I can NOT wait for this to come out... they finally brought back the individual characters versus the groupings of 3 which ultimately made it unplayable to a degree... the battle music too sounds good.. pissed it's been delayed until January...

If it is true and it's something along the lines of say... oh.... I don't know... Suikoden 1/2 in original form, I'd run to my nearest EB and reserve this.... literally run...

At EB they're gonna have (or maybe already have) a Konami Preview disk that you get when you reserve Metal Gear Solid 3. On it is supposed to be a playable demo of Suikoden 4. Has anyone seen it, or heard of when it might be avalible?

I got the demo for free! No reservations needed (I got a killzone and jak III demo too! w00t!)
It's not to bad. At times I was left wondering what I should do. The runes in the battle seemed rather weak compared to before... but I'm pretty sure that's just because of the demo. Your physical attacks were stronger than your runes.
Graphics are good, music is good and it's got the feel of the first 2 again thankfully! I did not like suikoden 3. The battles are fun too.

You get those at EB?

Great, think I'll swing by my EB and try to get one. Do you have to reserve MGS 3 to get it, or did you sweet talk your way into getting one for free?

Yeah I wasn't a fan of Suikoden 3 either, but the first two rocked. I want the demo now. I'm jsut scared to go into EB now, afraid I'll spend money I need to save.

Well I hope they bring people back for 4, I really didn't like how no one from 1 or 2 even made a guest appearance in 3 (excluding the one guy who's name I with hold to prevent putting a spoiler in the thread)

Is the preview of Suikoden 4 on the OPM disk with the MGS3 demo? Also, they have demos of Suikoden 4 at EB? If so, I'll have to try and pick up a copy.

Part 4 is actually a prequel so they really cant bring anyone back, but some characters are still in it.
Viki, Jeanne (forgot if that was her name) , and good ol Ted are in the game i believe.

From what I understand it's a Konami demo disk that you get when you reserve MGS 3 at EB. Not sure if the demo is availible any where else.

Oh, ok.
Do you get it immediately? I might just reserve and then cancel my preorder. Or just see if they'll give me a copy.

Delayed until 2005? I was looking forward to a three-way between that, Shadow Hearts 2, and SMT: Nocturne for PS2 RPG of the year...
I've loved the first three games. I finally bought another copy of the first one, to complete my trifecta. That was one of the few PSone RPGs I played to completion, sadly. I didn't even beat any of the Final Fantasy PSone games, save for FF VI in Anthology.

Yeah, both Suiko 4 and Wild ARMs: Alter Code F have been delayed until January. Just in time to stack up with Xenosaga Part Deux...

The Wild Arms delay really hurt my feelings. That was the main game I was looking forward to this fall, believe it or not. :(
Ah well, now I have something to look forward to the first of the year. :)

Xeno II looks awesome. The new art style makes characters much more realistic looking, and there's some clever new battle mechanics -- including something similar to Shadow Hearts' combo attacks. I love the characters in the first game, and they're all back. The amount of cutscenes has been trimmed for people who thought there were too many of them in part one (I'm not one of them).

The decision to cut back on the amount of cutscenes actually disappoint me. I love a good story in RPGs, and Xenosaga had one of the best. The fact that it was almost like an interactive movie didn't turn me away at all. On the contrary, I loved Der Wille Zur Macht because of that.

I would love for their to be a pre-order bonus of Suikoden 1/2 along much of the line of what Legend of Zelda did. I would be all over this in a second.

Ditto for me too. I thought the Cut scenes made the characters come to life. One of the early ones was great - with the robot kicking butt!!! I was hoping to see JR have a large role to play. It would have been great to see cut scenes with the little guy wasting people left and right.
On a side note, why did this game take 2 years to make? It seems to have taken forever to come out.
Thanks,
Matthew
My favorite RPG's
Xenosaga
FF9
Suikoden 2
FF7 does not count. It was the first RPG I ever played, so I loved it...

Got mine pre-ordered off ebgames.
I loved the first two, I think the second one was the best RPG of all time, or second best behind Final Fantasy 6.
I really couldn't get into the third one, and I'm hoping the forth one is alot better.
Quick question: How is Suikoden pronounced?
"Su-ee-ko-den"
Some people say "swee-ko-den". Close, but there should be more pronounciation of the "u".
