Wii not putting out a picture...

My cousin hadn't played his Wii in awhile and when he went to turn it on, the screen was black. Here's what he said...

"My wii turns on, but nothing is displayed on the television. A disc can be inserted and ejected, and I tried someone elses cables, so it isn't that. Yes, everything is plugged in correctly. The LED lights up green. And the controllers won't sync up."

He called Nintendo and they said to send it in and they'd charge 75.00.

Is his AV out busted?

Sounds like it. Could possibly be the AV in on his tv, maybe try a different AV slot/different tv?

try unplugging the power cord from both ends let it sit for 5 minutes try hooking it up again, if it doesnt work the first time just unplug from the back of it and plug it back in and power keep trying to power it on til it works, i have this issue from time to time, its something to do with your power cord, bet the led is yellow and you have to unplug it just to get it powered on to the black screen

Uh, all the other topics you bumped were pretty old too. As a rule of thumb, if it's not on the front page, it's probably over a month old.
