View Full Version : I was walking home today...

So, after eating some McD's, I started walking home (about 7 blocks, gas is hella expenisve here). I saw a girl (maybe 16-18 years-old) talking on her cell phone. A few yards behind her was an old fat guy with his shirt off and sort of limping along. Living in the city, this stuff is normal, and we have been experiencing a slight heat wave for the past three days.

Anyway, I cross the street, now walking parallel to the girl and old guy. After a couple of blocks, I reach a red light, as does the girl and the guy with no shirt, who is now standing beside the girl. The girl turns around, looks at the guy for a second, and quickly turns the other way. Funny stuff, right?

Well, we're still headed in the same direction and the girl is off her cell phone. She crosses the street onto my side. Several seconds later, the old guy also limps across the street. I found that a little weird, as did the girl, who began walking in an accelerated pace. I became suspicious. My street was coming up, but I decided, to, um, "investigate" this a bit, you know, do a little sneaking around, hiding behind cars, etc. Well, before I had a chance to do anything, the girl starts running and turns the corner; the guy is still limping along in her direction.

At this point, I was confused and didn't know what to do, so I turned around and began walking home.

In the end, this is what I know: the girl runs somewhere; the guy is still limping along in the same direction; I walk home (in the other direction); just as I reach the front door, I hear sirens (not sure if it was a policecar, ambulence, or firetruck) off in the distance.

What just happened? :?:

she probably called the cops? i sure would if a fat guy was limping around after me. i'm just still wondering how the limping-guy is still behind the girl, who is running. seems like something outta a game....

You could have saved a life, tsk tsk.

I dunno, maybe he wanted some money to support some type of habit.

Maybe he was he long lost father and got reunited with his daughter, but because she didn't recognize him she killed him.

Maybe she needed money from the limping guy to support those phone calls on her cell phone and offered him some service and he was shirtless because he wanted to be partially ready?

Maybe she got home, he went under a bridge and someone got in accident looking at the 16-18 y/o girl?

Go find out and tell us! :P

This sounds pretty goddamn hilarious. In fact i was cracking up when I read your story. The girl starts running away from a limping old man?! If he was really limping, and she was running..... I'm confused. :? Couldn't she just easily shake him off. Though  I would be scared if I was her too. Poor girl. Hope she is alright. But the whole thing sounds silly, unless the old limping man had bad intentions. But really, a police siren for a limping old man.. turn the corner and poof she's gone.

SF is an awesome city. I've gone on vacation there a few years ago and I loved it.

I highly doubt that he was stalking her or anything. It was probably just some dude walking home or something and happened to be following the girl. I highly doubt that a fat man with a limp would be trying to chase a girl in public.

Maybe, just maybe....the guy was hurt and need to use her cell? She ran, he got into an accident and an ambulance was called.

It's a weird coincidence, him following her across the street like that, but if he's limping and all, is he really "chasing" her?

It does sound like a riddle....

A girl is trapped in a sealed room (no windows, 1 door locked from the outside) - 4 walls, ceiling, floor. There's a bat in the corner and a piano. How does she get out?

Hire a bird to fly through the wall, smash the cement, and pick up the bat and smash the door open, while she plays wonderful music to inspire him.

Errrrr...?

I'm from Santa Clara and I hate SF for this exact reason. WAY too many weirdos walking around.

Now if only I could get out of Washington, D.C. Have the same problem here except it's a bunch of crack addicts begging for money. (And I thought the bums in Santa Cruz were bad...)

I hope you guys are right. I'm going to check the local news to see if any story develops. Am I a coward for not doing anything? I could have called the police, but I didn't have any solid information and they probably would have laughed at me. I could have followed the old guy, but he wasn't really moving all that fast, and the girl was running pretty fast.

Anyway, I just hope she made it home okay. [-o<

So, after eating some McD's...

I kidna stopped reading after this. If the first 5 words are that disgusting, I thought how gruesome the rest could be...

Seriously though, thats kinda creapy, but funny at the same time.

Bat as in baseball or flying animal? Is there an answer or did you make this up right now? And is the answer "she uses the bat to break down the door"?

x0thedeadzone0x

no, that would be too simplistic. and besides, you haven't extensively used the piano's worthy contribution to the story. I GOT IT! she could hide in the piano, grab the bat and... no... no.. doesn't work.. :(

I hate to be the skeptic, but I have to believe that there are probably police sirens going off every 15 min. in Frisco for various and sundry reasons. Probably just a coincidence. Don't lose sleep over it.

Some samaritan you are. I'll make sure to never choke or start drowning near you, YOU CAN BET ON THAT!

What could I have done? Run past the limping man and chase after the girl? It would have been kind of awkward if she had no idea what the hell I was talking about. "There's this old guy without a shirt following you and I've come to protect you!" *SLAP!* The end.

I hope at least that she wasn't cute...otherwise, you just blew it.

She was slightly chubby, but there's nothing wrong with that. :D

Anyway, there wasn't anything in the news about a kidnapping of any sort in San Francisco. Although, in another city, a woman was kidnapped in front of her home, but her friends thought it was a practical joke or a drunken affair or something. That night, the friend's and family's of the missing woman started putting up flyers. D'oh!

First of all, I was joking. Second, don't go after the girl (unless you are looking for some *Bow Chicka Bow wow*), go after the guy, kick his ass, take his cane, break his good leg, hide him in a creek bed, kill any witnesses, hide your tracks. Repeat as necessary or when the urge strikes (and it will, TRUST ME)

Limping old man...
overweight woman...
as long as the girl was already in front of the old man
It's sounds like no matter how far she runs the old man with the limp will always be the same distance behind her, thus never catching up

what, were you scared the old guy was gonna bitch-slap you if you encountered him? you're right, that cane's pretty intimidating.

i would've rescued the poor girl. for all you know, the old man could have her captured shouting "muahaha! you are mine now!" poking his cane into her chest while she's tied up screaming and theyre in a torture chamber and then he makes her sniff his 500 cats and eat... OLD LIVER! ahhhhhhhh!!!

evilmax17
03-17-2004, 12:39 PM
Well, for all you know the Fat Limping man could've been her father. Maybe after a fight, the girl decided not to talk to her dad and "storm off". The dad (not wanting to make a big deal of things) just decided to go after without saying anything.

I dunno, maybe not, but you can't always jump to conclusions...

x0thedeadzone0x
03-17-2004, 12:44 PM
If the girl turned her head and quickly looked away, chances are that it's probably not her father because she'd have a look of disgust and say "LEAVE ME ALONE DADDY". Also her father would have to be pretty old. An old, shirtless limping man and a young teenager (16)... gotta be about 50 years in difference, at least. Though of course, you NEVER know what could have happened, if only yellowaznboy had followed then he would know the truth and we wouldn't have to jump to conclusions here.

By the way, that piano question is racking my brain: how does she get out already???

side note, this is my 225th post. hooray.

haven't you ever heard boy?! that's not old, that young! even middle-aged! now you've completely thrown us off!

For all we know now, the guy could just be pretending to limp out in public. perhaps he could really run, and he threw his cane down once he was out of public, only to kidnap her.. man.
i would've followed anyways, to watch in a bush and laugh my ass off while a limping old man chased after a running chubby women.

I remember having a emotionally similar delemma when I was 15. At the reform school I went to, a few students put on a play, in which they made fun of the teachers. Unfortunately for one girl, she referred to one of the teachers as a "slob". Apparently unknown to the girl, or to myself for that matter, "slob" is/was a deregatory term for bloods used by cryps. They had to stop the assembly, and a s we were walking out, the girl was assaulted by five guys. It was very quick, and over before I got past my shock. I know that there was nothing I could do, I was too far away in the crowd to get there before they began to run, and everyone saw who had done it, so that delaying them would have been pointless.

The incident still has the power to make me feel like shit. What's ,my point, other than catharsis? Do the rational thing and just let it go if you can.

Anyway, if the girl began to run, I'm sure she did her best to protect herself, i.e. call the police as soon as she ran into the house, and hid in the attic with a baseballl bat in hand to wait for them.

A girl is trapped in a sealed room (no windows, 1 door locked from the outside) - 4 walls, ceiling, floor. There's a bat in the corner and a piano. How does she get out?

There has to be some other entrance there. A grand piano (if that's what it is) can't fit through a door.

Anyways, what's the answer?

She played the piano until she found the right key. Then she unlocked the door and let herself out.

She swung the bat 3 times. It was 3 strikes, and she was out.

She ran around and around the room until she wore herself out.
