Actually it will read CD-RW.....but it depends on the kind of CD-RWs you buy.

Most Xboxes will read CD-RWs but won't read CD-Rs. Sometimes it also depends on the type of CD-RW you're using, so you might have to try a few different brands.

I'm not sure if it will play music directly from the CD-RW, but I know that you can copy music onto the hard drive and play it that way.

Does anyone know what brand of CD-RWs to use? I'll get some if I know which ones work.

Ebgames has them used occasionally for around $10

I found that Fujifilm CD-RW will work with most Xboxs. It won't alow you to play music off the CD but you can rip the cd onto your Xbox.

I have a Phillips drive that will play Memorex CD-Rs, but it won't let me copy them to the drive. Which I really hate, since some of my favorite songs are on burnt CDs. :(

Just grab the Xbox Music Mixer. It is only 20 bucks brand new and it enables you to do karaoke, make slideshows, plays music with cool backgrounds. (As long as you have your Xbox and PC linked up and your computer has XP on it.)

I would if I had $20, and if my Xbox and PC were linked. I hate being poor :(
