Anyone played all three of the nipon games? I have Disgaea and La Pucelle is it best to play them in order?

La Pucelle was released first in Japan, so if you want to play them in the order that they originally came out, I'd start with La Pucelle. I believe they get a little more complex as they go along...but I wouldn't say it's a necessity. I do think some characters from La Pucelle make cameo appearances in Disgaea, though.

I don't know about now, but in the beginning they sold the SE lots of other places.

I got my Special Edition of Phantom Brave at Hastings, by trading in 4 $5 games. I at least know that they carry it.

The entire first batch were SE, everything after was regular. Lots of places didn't differentiate, and you can find both in the same stack. They look exactly the same, except for this one spot on the back of the case.

Yeah I was a sucker who bit on the whole 49.99 special edition thing myself. In the end though for the 10 dollars saved I wasn't really ready to gamble not getting a special edition of the game, even though it's not like the soundtrack really matters. So if I knew there woulda been special editions left at this point I woulda waited, but oh well i've lost 10 dollars on worse things.

Sometimes its best to get the games while they are there instead of waiting too long fo deals. It seems like non-Square Enix RPG's (strategy, turnbased or otherwise) have lower print runs than most titles and I don't like to wait too long to get those. They can either get too hard to find or cost an arm and a leg on an auction site. I almost waited too long on Arc the Lad Collection before I lucked out on the Toys 'R Us sale awhile back. I also lucked out on getting a sealed Tales of Destiny II from Defender's site.

I agree with you 100%, Guile. You really have to weigh the chances with some of these games, if you're into the whole collector's item thing or even if you're just a completionist. AtL collection, or any Working Designs game is not something I'd want to buy used, that's for sure.

S.E. only has the sound track right? There's no extra content in the actual game? I can deal with having no sound track, not like I listen to my Chrono Cross CD or Silent Hill cd's anytime except once when I first got it.

ANd about waiting, I waited for La Pucelle to get hella cheap, then I was too busy during the time it was at target for a good price (wasn't playing too many games at the time, lots of work) and now if I do find it it's full price. But I'm not too dissapointed, I bought Disgaea for the same reason (thinking it would go rare) and it did. But it's come back now, so I bet they'll print some more up down the line.

I was in Gamestop today and it was $39.99 new. Be careful though, the first copy they put in my bag was not the special edition. I had to ask for it, and then they looked around and gave me one. Good thing I checked.

Be sure to check behind the counter for MegaTen: Nocturne. I asked the clerk if they had it in, since there was no display box or even a place holder for it. He wasn't even sure what I was talking about, so I just looked over his shoulder and scanned the PS2 games...was there, 3 copies. They had Ace Combat 5 and GTA: SA out on the floor, so there really isn't an excuse except they don't know how to pronounce it or spell it (even though its on the box) or something stupid like that. Both TRU's I went to did this. I only went to the 2nd one because they were out of Shadow Hearts Covenant at the 1st one I went to, they had that in the 2nd one...but I opted to grab GTA:SA instead since it was just sitting there.

Can't play too many RPG's at once, you'll forget about one (already playing Tales of Symphonia & Skies of Arcadia Legends replaying on the GC. Then I have to finish Xenosaga before episode 2 comes out in january....)
