Hi everyone,
I just got a PS3 slim so I was wondering if there are any good games that are selling at decent prices. Any recommendations would be great! Thanks!

From the Flyers May 7-13 thread,
- Best Buy, Bayonetta, $39.99
I've got this but haven't played it. They released a patch for it you can install to supposedly reduce load times or w/e. Read up on it if you haven't already though - PS3 version vs 360 version I mean.

- 3D Dot Game Heroes, $35.99
Again, I have yet to play this, but it looks fun.

- Metal Gear Solid 4 [no idea where the cheapest place to get it now is]
This game was the reason I wanted a PS3 in the first place. Definitely worth it, should be $20 or less by now I think.
- Valkyria Chronicles, $19.99 US [could buy through Goomba]
I would try out the demo from the PSN store first. I love this game.
Excellent style, and very good music too.

- Super Street Fighter IV, $38.99
If you like fighters, this is a great one to get.

- BlazBlue: Contiuum Shift [not out yet], $44.99
Another good fighting series

Other great games [not sure they're on sale]
- God of War III
- Uncharted 2
- Little Big Planet - Game of the Year edition [recently became a greatest hit, should be $30 or less]
- Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition [I like having DLC on the disc]
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma I and II [try the demos from PSN]
Hope that helps :D

Any particular type of game you're looking for?
Dead Space, $19.99
Still have this in my backlog of stuff to play, but I assume it's good lol.

Infamous, I think it should be $30 or less everywhere now.
My first sandbox type game, haven't played GTA games.
Quite liked it.
Batman Arkham Asylum, $49.99
Not sure where to get this cheap now, I bought it new when everywhere had it selling for $40. Very good game, extra stuff on the PS3 version - play as the Joker in challenges, Batmobile for HOME, can't remember what else.
I haven't bothered installing HOME, so I have no idea if it's any fun.

Read up on Bethesda's forum (http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/forum/38-playstation-3-issues/) on Fallout 3 tech support problems with the PS3 then decided if you ever want to play that game.
Download a bunch of demo's find out what you want to play and try to find the cheapest price. Meta Critic has a page for the ranking start there for looking at games you want to play. (http://www.metacritic.com/games/ps3/scores/)

Um, I have had a few hiccups playing Fallout 3, but never anything that would keep me away from probably my favorite game ever. It can be found at a few stores for around $20. Check gamestops website for codes to get 15-25% off new or used games. They have had some really decent deals lately. I got Borderlands from there a few weeks ago for around $25 holy shit that game is addicting like Diablo with guns. Ratchet and Clank (the first one) is fun and probably super cheap. And Demon's Souls if you have a masochistic streak in you. Try hittng up your local pawn shops too. I have seen some really good titles for at least half off retail.

I passed it on Xbox 360 but I heard the bugs were patched out in the latest updates. So I think that argument is fairly moot at this point. Especially for $20.
Fallout 3 is in my top 10 list of favorite games of all time. Great fun if you are into that genre.

it depends on what type of game you are looking for :)
Resistance 2 is VERY cheap, and people still play online.
Uncharted (the first one, is cheap now)
White Knight Chronicles is now like 40$ it's a very good game IMO (if you like RPG's)

Thanks for all the replies... After looking at the options I think I might wanna try out heavy rain and 3d dot heroes.... anyone played these ones yet? Heavy rain is very expensive btw
I have LBP and Fat princess now, both are amazing games.
I tried some demos online for shooter type games such as infamous and i was getting dizzy... I've always had problems like that so FPS type games aren't gonna work for me....

Heavy Rain is a renter imo. I guess you could play through it a couple times to try different story options or for trophies but I was done after one playthrough which was only about 8 hours if memory serves me correct. Interesting idea for a game, but not much lasting appeal to me.
The biggest problem with your question is that taste in games, like most things in life are extremely personal. I'm sure there are folks out there that live and die by sports games where I get bored of them real quick. Same as I love RPG's there are folks that can't stand them.
I bought a PS3 a couple of months ago and my favorite two games by far that I've tried are Uncharted and Uncharted 2. They were actually one of the reasons I bough the console though, been wanting to try them for awhile now.

I had a blast playing fat princess this weekend. Does anyone have suggestions for unique games like Fat Princess or Castle Crashers on the 360?

I would try the Heavy Rain demo before buying.
The controls were too awkward for me i.e I was horrible at it lol.
