I think this is probably fake. A joke.
If not, then these people need serious help (and a spell checker).

Oops, wrong forum. I was in two at the same time and posted on this one - please move.
Damnit, you realized it before I could point out the irony of calling people idiots by posting in the wrong forum!

Has anyone else noticed that every time some self-righteous over-protective delusions-of-grandeur parent decides to make a "Mothers Against" website, they always use shitty free hosting like geocities? I remember when Maddox found out about the "Mothers Against Maddox" site, he mirrored the whole thing on his own site to prevent its bandwidth from being consumed within minutes.

Ironically enough, I was looking at reviews for St. Anger last night at Amazon and this review caught my eye (the first review).

I love how they say MAVV studies prove all this stuff.

Doom was one of the first games that started this. It made children become angry, it gave them streets, it made them more aggresive, it made them more violent, and it made them do other things.
Could someone tell me how to get "streets?" I want some for Christmas.
Ok, I'm stopping now.

"a MAVV packet (for the low cost of $5 plus shipping and handling charges) which includes the following: A MAVV T-shirt, a paper, and a cirtificuit from MAVV"
I don't know what a "cirtificuit" is, but I know I want one.

How can we fight back? By not buying it - you'll see, another GTA wont be made after MAVV spreads the word (it wont sell well because parents wont let their kids buy it). Help us by spreading the word or buying a MAVV packet for $5!
HAHA, yeah right. How about this winner:
Need For Speed Underground 2 lets your children race dangerously on real streets throughout America and also lets you speed against cops. We do not want kids to think this is safe. Dont buy it for your children or anyone else! Also, it features online play. Your kids will play with total strangers across the globe which can be dangerous. Dont let it happen!
Speed against cops, yeah like every one of these MAVV members has never been caught speeding.

They probably don't even know what MMORPG stands for... just a buzz word they picked up. Between their unproven claims, inability to spell and type out coherent sentences, i think MAVV might stand for Morons Against Videogame Violence.

How can the MAVV group prove anything? They don't even know how to write complete sentences! Their kids are probably stupid punks because the parents are idiots.

And remember GTA won't sell well because MAVV will stop them!
Seriously isn't the average age of gamers now 29 or 30?
Warning parents! Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas will be released this tuesday! Dont let your kids get ahold of this game. It is rated "M" for mature, yet it is targeted to kids ages 14 and under! How can we fight back? By not buying it - you'll see, another GTA wont be made after MAVV spreads the word (it wont sell well because parents wont let their kids buy it). OMG, there are so many things wrong with the MAVV website that its funny! Whoever wrote it can't even spell properly or even write complete sentences. I think that MAVV should be more concerned with her kids growing up to be idiots who can't read....something which is much more harmful to society than a few people playing GTA.

Chill guys chill. This is nothing but a joke and parody of MAVAV, which turned out to be some kid's school project that he put on the internet for his 15 minutes. It's a joke of a joke.
What oranization would use Hometown AOL as their main site anyways!?

Anyone noticed on the real MAVAV website how they state "We have received an overwhelming amount of letters on the topic of video game addiction and violence. While the majority of the responses were sent in by feral young children and pre-teenage gamers (a very surprising statistic, more proof our cause is not in vain)".........somehow wild, untamed young children and "pre-teenage" gamers have the ability to find the mavav website, compose an email to said site, and then cause enough chaos for the email address to then get pulled off the site. Give me a break.
I love this "fact" too:
Fact: Hardcore gaming not only leads to video game addiction and abrupt lifestyle changes, but to crime and felony as well. Hardcore gamers never buy computer video games. Instead, downloading illegally copied video games or “warez” is the only method acceptable by the underground. Buying a legit copy is grounds for abandonment by community groups. You may not be buying your child videogames, but they can illegally obtain them off the internet.

The group opposing Maddox were hosting their site on Geocities. Maddox was even kind enough to mirror the entire thing on his site after traffic picked up.

I'm not real big on ending video game violence, but doesn't it strike you as odd that:
Parents who want today's children to grow up without extreme violence being available to them and being intertwined in their entertainment are hated and considered the "enemy".
Parents who want today's kids to have the "choice" to indulge in sex, violent video games, etc are considered "cool" and "progressive".
Yes, it's annoying to have someone who wants to tell you what you can or can't do, but is it really so bad that there are people out there who want less violence in the world? At least they're trying.

Of course everyone wants less violence. It's the fact that organizations like MAVAV are fighting a battle that doesn't exist. The time and energy they expend against video games would be a dozen times more beneficial if put against something that is a problem. Or, better yet, that same energy could be used to promote an already established solution.

This has been proclaimed Website of the Week.
MAVAV needs to take a backseat, cause you can never have true peace.
Danger: Do video games teach people how to kill?
Yes. When video games were linked to the Columbine high school shooters, a frenzy of new research was launched, in which, one team of researchers discovered that first person shooter games do indeed teach gamers with the basic knowledge of how to kill.
It should read more like:
Danger: Do video games teach people how to kill?
No. When right wing Christian soccer moms needed an excuse to ban violence in every media, including videogames, a frenzy of bullsh*t "links" Doom and Metallica with a school shooting. In reality, this kid may have had real issues. Yeah, real videogame induced issues! People don't have the faintest idea how to kill from Unreal Tournament or RS3: Black Arrow, cause they would all hop and crouch and click with their right index fingers.
I want to subscribe to MAVAV for the Tshirt and buttons, while playing GTA: SA. AS I say in my school, "There's only one requirement to join Stop The Violence: You can't own and/or have played a Grand Theft Auto game."

Wait, scratch the Olsen Twins games - these crazy broads might come up with some shit that they lead to eating disorders.
