I got a Philippe Richard cutlery set for my wedding and it didn't come with a gift receipt. I already have a beautiful J.A. Henckels set of knives so I don't need this.

Does anyone know where this brand of knives can be bought so I return them?

Not that common in stores, at least not around me. I know Amazon carries 'em.

The place they bought it at? IDK. Congrats on the marriage though :)

Sounds like a good candidate for the next wedding you attend...or eBay.

We both decided it's a little tacky. Plus we had a gift opening so a lot of people saw us get this as a gift.

6669, what is IDK?

I'm guessing IDK = I Don't Know.

Congrats on the marriage. Save the knives for your garage sale if you can't regift.

IDK is I don't know.

And I believe Williams-Sonoma sells some Philippe Richard products. But I've never in my life seen cutlery by them. They're mostly cookware, pots/pans, etc. You may have trouble returning those anywhere.

Doh! I was hoping IDK was some store I hadn't heard of. A little searching on the web would indicate that these are worth a pretty penny. If I can't find a store to take it back I'll have to suck it up and ask for a receipt. I'll make something up (one of the kinves was chipped..etc)

you could always tell people that you liked them so much you decided to get all your friends a set. but that would be lying, thus adding to the tackyness.

I would just come clean with the person that gave them to you. Tell them their gift was very nice and you are extremely grateful but you already have a set and being a newlywed there are a lot of other things that you need. Ask them where you could exchange it. Most people would not take any offense and would probably even feel better knowing that you got something that you really needed. Deceipt is something that is best avoided at all costs in a situiation like this IMO
