View Full Version : Art imitates life...I was just held-up at gunpoint for GTA.

defender

Yeah..seriously...no joke.

Some fucking bitch ass bastard teenager...masked up with hoodie and all...with his hand in his sweatshirt saying he was gonna kill mother fuckers and he wasn't joking...he said "gimme dat gran deft auto or I'm gonna kill'ya"

I wasn't at the counter...the clerk didn't believe he had a gun (neither do I but that's not the point). So he ran behind the counter fast and took a handful of the game and ran. My guy chased and I was running behind but I had to kick a customer out and lock the door.

My guy got some cops but the little prick was long gone and that's my story.

Art imitates life and this is total bullshit. Fucking robbed over GTA. Now I worked all day and had my best day in 2 months only to make zero profit so some little dick can steal from me.

FuK Dis.

You should keep a shotgun behind the counter like the guys in VC, and have it up in a display. That'll show them not to steal.

That sucks ROCKS. And now somebody is going to pay the kid thirty in cash and hug himself in glee at his good fortune in getting his hands on a prime title at a substantial discount. Every time someone rewards crime, he never cares who gets shafted at the other end of the line. I'll bet there're some folks reading this thread right now who would quietly buy such a copy when nobody was looking.

This was my first thought too. I always look for ways to minimize my damage and maybe find an opportunity. I am tired tonight but I think I will make some calls tomorrow when I have the police report which is getting filled out now.

He got about 7 copies which was my cost about $300. Also he was totally masked with a hoodie (bike mask). I couldnt tell skin color or hair. I was not at the counter but I saw him and my guy confirms that we can't identify him.

We won't get this guy either. He is gone. My guy actually found some cops fast and they drove around but the neighborhood is vast with lots of places to hide or go. He could be inside his house or a friends or just in a building. He is gone and so is my money.

I haven't sold the store yet but it's close but...I will still have to run this place through xmas...so my hell continues.

Seriously, the main goal of almost every man in the world is to not get raped in the ass. But when idiots like this do stuff like that, they're basically buying themself a ticket to be raped in the ass everyday until one day they get stabbed with the knife made out of a toothbrush. Just take solace in the fact that will be the greatest day of his life...

Seriously kids, shell out the $50 and save your asshole a lot of trouble...

Insurance will not cover this. I do not have theft insurance. Theft insurance for my store would be $4000 a year....so I don't pay for it.

btw- I have had 2 burglaries in my 10 years (other stores I have owned though). A burglary is when they break in at night to steal when no one is around. Well my first burglary was $12,000 stolen and my second was about $8000 or so. That sucked back then because I wasn't really established and it almost put me out of business. I had to rebuy my entire Playstation inventory. They basically broke in and took the whole wall of games.

Shit happens. Who knows...maybe this is some bad Karma meant to equate for some bad deed of mine. I ain't no saint. None of us are. Well..at least no one got hurt. Money is only money and I really don't care too much since I am out of this place in 2-3 months. I am not worked up over this like I should be..in a way I feel like laughing. I see irony in this and some lesson hidden here somewhere...it's just elusive to me at this time.

it's good that you guys weren't hurt. i was thinking about what it would be like if someone were to come up to me at target while i was putting away the gta:sa into the game lockup and tried to nab that shit from me and run. i seriously was standing at the glass case all alone with a cart full of like 100+ copies of gta:sa, and a bunch of scumbag looking teenagers (our target is in the "crackhead" part of town) hovering around watching me. after thinking about it, i pushed the cart to the back, and came out with a handful of copies at a time.

Since he runs a store, how about we just buy things from him instead?

It sucks now Defender but he'll get his down the line... Reminds me of a funny story, someone similar to the person you described tried to rob a local liquor store with a knife. All 3 clerks pulled out guns and shot him. He lived and went to jail for armed robbery, turns out he robbed a few other places too.

This won't be the last time he tries to rob someone, and he'll eventually either get busted or shot/stabbed/beaten. It won't make you feel any better now, but he'll get his eventually.

Because it's a lot easier to convince thousands of people to donate a few dollars rather than a thousand people spend 15+ dollars.. and he'd have a hell of a time shipping the stuff.

I think this could work to your advantage. If you had video surveilance, you could give it to the media. Your store would be famous (whatever city it may be in). People from all around would come to the store that was "robbed for GTA". Shit, If it was in LA, I'D check out the store.

Atleast no one was hurt but it still sucks you got ripped off. You can always replace games and earn more money but you cant replace a person.

Saucy Jack
10-27-2004, 04:01 AM
Defender, I'm really sorry about what happened to you. And I hope that you do realize that you are very fortunate that no one was hurt. A life is more important than money. Things will be OK in the end; just keep on with things and things will improve.

Go ahead and take your story to the game companies or media, or whatever you want to do. You did nothing wrong, and if that scum isn't going to be found and brought to justice, someone needs to give you some compensation.

I remember when the PS2 first came out, and I saw on the news that a person was trampled to death at a mall during the launch rush, I became sick to my stomach. I can't believe that people would harm others for material goods. This is stuff that people can live without, that people don't need... and yet this garbage turns them into monsters.

Same thing with the Black Friday sales... I have read about hundreds of people being injured just because someone wants to save a few bucks.

I certainly hope that no CAGs stoop to the level of putting others in danger just to save money. The CAG motto should definitely be "Safety and respect first, get a deal second."

Again, thankfully, nobody was hurt. Hang in there, Defender.
