Ripped from Nintendojo.com (which was likely ripped from somewhere else.... but hey... its news.)

Staring April 29th, both Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour and Wario World will be reduced from $49.99 to $29.99, as is the usual reduction for Nintendo's own titles. F-Zero GX, however, will mysteriously be introduced at a cheaper $19.99 price point. On a related note, Metroid Prime will be reduced ten dollars to $19.99 -- SCEA's standard for their substantial "greatest hits" series.

I also heard that Finding Nemo for the cube (and the xbox) was dropping to the greatest hits series....
get those Best Buy GGC's ready.

Good looking out. :) GGC Wario World and Mario Golf for a combined 50 bucks when the time comes. My nephew has been bugging me for both of these titles (and keeps borrowing mine all the time). :)

Well actually that's not that good of deals!!
I mean, I got Wario World for $22.95 at BlockBuster, and I can get Mario Golf at Gamestop for $35. I'm glad they dropped the pries, but hopefully the other 40 games will be good ones too!

Excellent. That means $24.99 at Best Buy with the GGC, and $14.99 for Metroid Prime and F-Zero GX (although I've already got that one courtesy of KB Toys). I'll be keeping my eye out for these, thanks for posting that.

I was just about to spring for a used copy of F-zero after flipping through my new penny guide. I will be holding off a few week's now. Than's for posting!

There must be TOO MUCH love for WW and they don't want a price drop because they're still making too much money off of it.

$35 is the price for USED Toadstool Tour at GameStop, and I am guessing that the Wario World you got from BlockBuster was also used. When the price drop goes into effect, the used price of Toadstool Tour at Gamestop is sure to drop along with it (I can't guarantee the same for BlockBuster games, as all the BlockBusters I have been to try to sell old used games for more than MSRP, but YMMV).
The point is, you are stating that the price drops are not good because one can currently get the same games used for roughly the same price. I would much rather buy new games than used, because I don't have to go from store to store searching for and carefully inspecting new games to make sure that they are complete and clean (unless it is the display copy, but we won't get into that). If there is a vast price difference, I will take a clean complete used game, but given roughly the same price, I'd rather wait a month and a half and buy new (plus use the GGC coupons to make it even cheaper than buying used :D ).

I assume Nintendo still wants to milk Wind Waker for a while, and being critically praised as one of the best games of 2003, it's understandable (although I wish the price would go down too!) Oh well, I can still find it used for $30 or so.
I wish all of Nintendo's first party Player's Choice titles had a flat $19.99 price though, that would help Nintendo compete better with PS2 and XBOX.
Still, this is pretty cool. I would probably buy Wario World and Mario Golf someday. I didn't like F-Zero GX, though, but nice to see a price drop.

Yeah I don't think Legend of Zelda Wind Waker will go down to Player's Choice till the Fall.

I see where your coming from, but for me I just go to one plaza to get my games. Theres a blockbuster and gamestop. If the used doesn't work, I take it back and get my store credit back. They really don't care there!!
But I see your point...We all have different views!

I didn't like F-Zero GX, though, but nice to see a price drop.
How could you not like this game? This game is one of my favorite games of 2003 only debatable with KotOR IMO.

I didn't really care for F-Zero either. I picked it up when CC had it for $15 and I played it basically a couple of times.

CC had the F-Zero Maximum Velocity (GBA) for $15, but I didn't think they had F-Zero GX (GC) for $15, did they?

I haven't fallowed GC game sales, but doesn't it strike people as a little odd that metroid prime is so cheap these days, where as the wind waker which only came out 3-4 months later still retails for $50? I'm sure WW sold real well, but hasn't metroid too? I mean it did win several game of the year awards and did become player's choice. i don't get it.

Hmm, anyone know a site that F-Zero GX & Metroid Prime are both on sale for the $19.99 prices? I think I saw Metroid on the target online website, but not F-Zero and since I'm cheap I'd like to save on shipping by ordering them both from the same site.

Wind Waker is to Nintendo what Halo is to Xbox (at least until Halo 2 is released) and what GTA Vice City was to PS2 until recently. It is the game that most people are buying their consoles for. People (not counting us CAG's, of course) are still willing to paying $50 for Zelda. When Microsoft announced their Platinum Hits program, Halo was an omission. And it took a long time for Halo to see a price drop. Same thing with GTA Vice City. Sure, it's $20 at most places nowadays, but the same thing happened. Halo and Vice City did not drop to the $20 range until it was announced that their sequels would come out this year. And since it's there's apparently a Wind Waker 2 in the works, we probably won't see a big price drop in Wind Waker, if any, for a while.
So my best guesses are that Wind Waker won't be a Player's Choice title until either a release date is announced for Wind Waker 2, or when Metroid Prime 2 is released, (that might take WW's spot as the top game people buy a Gamecube for).
