Sorry Guys I wish I had a link to but at least I can describe it. The new video/song is called "Mosh" and well let's just say any doubts that I had on Em's rhyming ability have gone away. After that "Just Lose It" fiasco which I didn't think was up to his ability/at all good this finally rest my fears. The boy's still got it. He can definently rile someone up especially the video. The video looks like it was made by the same people that did Chronic Future's last video "Time and Time Again". SOme pretty cool stuff, I definently like the artwork. Also, I believe you can actually see some cameos from their video in it.
Edit: Thanks deadzone for the link.
Here it is again

Edit Again: Thanks deadzone for the correction. Hope it's good now.
Edit for the third time:
I hope that E-Z-B won't mind if I borrow the links he had.

Hell yeah he is. But the song was amazing, as was the video. I really liked the artwork. INFINITELY better then Just Lose It. I never had a doubt in my mind, and I like how he referenced some of the lyrics in white america into this, since it went along with the theme.
EDIT: Ahh hiccup, you might want to delete that period in the link. But yeah, it's right on the front page, so I don't feel like directly linking to it.

He is going to get some bad press for the video, But bad press is good press for him.
Yeah, bad news is good news for Eminem. The press never seem to get that in their heads when they try to say he is too vulgar which makes people go get his CDs to see how vulgar he is. It's just like the GTA games, the more they are protested the more they sell.

He's going to et alot of bad press. I too loved the artwork in this one, if you haven't seen or heard of Chronic Future's last song/video for "Time and Time Again" you should check it out. I'm almost 100%certain that the guys that did that video did this one. they are very similiar for their condeming the war. I thought that video wuold have gotten a lot of bad press but sadly it stayed under the radar. Thay're a really good band too boot.

I've definitely heard of Chronic Future, I love them. They're great, Time and time again is one of my favorite songs (along with shellshock). I haven't seen the video though, I'll be sure to check that out. Thanks though. And yeah, they are sort of an underground band, I doubt they will stay that way for too long though.

I completely agree, I think he's incredible. I can't stand any of that rap/hip-hop (or cruuuuuunnkk ) shit, Eminem, (D12 but mostly only because Eminem's in it) and maybe some Tupac but that's basically it.
EDIT: Well, Em's made a whole lot of references to the president in a whole lot of his songs. White America had some, Square Dance had some, Without me, We as americans (pretty new track, but it got him a lot of controversy for saying "I'd rather see the president dead"), etc etc. But this is the first one completely against it that I've seen, with only we as americans and white america trailing behind.

actually, "the eminem show" was released in the year 2002 and eminem ranted on about bush way before his last year (hopefully) in office
example: http://www.ohhla.com/anonymous/eminem/the_show/square.mnm.txt

I think this is the worst thing I've ever heard out of Em ... but it's something he's been behind for a while now so it's not like he's jumping on the bandwagon.
I listen to all kinds of music (except country), Eminem is far from the only good lyricist out there. Especially while Kweli and Mos Def are still around.

That is very true. IMO both Nas and Jay-Z are awesome unbeliveable rappers but difference between them is that Jay-Z is a great party rapper that knows how to incorporate into his rhymes truth and reality into. You really fell his emotions. Nas is very much the lyricist that Jay-Z is but I just don't think he could do a party song that included depth in it. It's really hard to say the point I'm trying get across but hopefully you see. I like them both but I prefer Jay-Z over Nas.
I'm not sure why I'm even making a list because I like all of them so I guess it would be something along the lines of Em>Pac>Jay-Z>Nas>Biggie but bear in mind that those are quite interchangeable.

I don't want to quote the whole quote, but I'll say I never really got into Pac's music. I can see how people have him as there favortie rapper just not mine. Biggies lyrics are just too great to say he sucked hard. And Nas too is a great lyricist but he doesn't have a huge range. Great songs, but like hiccup said he can't do any kind of party song. And Jay-Z is really the greatest rapper alive. He has range, depth, lyrics, beats, and respect. He knows how to make a hot song, if its a slow deep song or a club banger its gonna be great. The only thing is he needs to stay away from teh R&B, like the Best of Both Worlds which was just mediocre.

Sigh, All Jay-Z songs after resonable doubt are about " I sold coke, but I don't any more" "I got a lot of shit, everybody look at my shit" " I'm fucking Beyonce. I'm so much uglier than you, but I'm fuckin' beyonce".
I'm going to contiune to sleep on Jay-Z, especially after Talib Kweli flipped on him, "If lyrics sold, then truth be told/I'd probably be as rich and famous as Jay-Z/Truthfully, I wanna rhyme like Common Sense/Next best thing, do a record with Common Sense". (http://www.ohhla.com/anonymous/t_kweli/struggle/gh_show.tab.txt)"
I believe this list is,
Nas > Biggie > Em > Tupac > Ghostface > Talib Kweli > Mos Def > Pun > Common > Black Thought > Jay-Z > > > Hova.
I love Jay-Z though for lighting the fire under NAS's ass. That brought back Queensbridge in the rap game.
Oh and MOSH is the hottest song/album this year. It needs to win major awards next year.

I don't think Talib used the line as harsh way to get at Jay-Z. All he did was flip the lyrics from the Black Album where Jay was saying pretty much that Kweli was the best lyricist right now. So I don't think he was mad at Jay. And did you not like Hov after The Takeover and Super Ugly? It seems that Nas is your favorite rapper and that may have knocked him down on why you don't like him. I would do a whole list of rappers I like like you but I hate placing them in order unless its the five everybody talks about like I already did.

I don't think Talib was per se knocking him down, but for me it pointed out the holes in Jay-Z's persona. If Jay-Z wanted to be taken as a lyric rapper and acknowledge these other artist on the fringe, why did he not do the sensible thing and do a track with Common Sense?
I avoid the whole rapper beef thing personally. I respect Jay for alot of work he's done, but I don't like how his subject matter has stayed to several basic topics in the last few years. It's not as bad as Nas's FIRM period, but I always feel that Jay-Z handcuffed himself by releasing work that was more about selling better than rhyming. He's whole reason for leaving the rap game is that he makes more as the CEO of his company than rapping.
Jay-Z is still all about his cash and that right there drops him from as an amazing MC in my eyes. He's not there to rock the mike. Biggie had that level of materialism but was better on the mike overall than JayZ.
I also did the whole long rapper quote thing to kind of point at some underated MCs particarly Ghostface and Big Pun.
zewone

I can respect that. Your right, he did not go to his full potentional (He admitted it himself he did it to have a bigger audience which means more money). But even Jay not at his best is still better than a lot of other rappers. Maybe not everybody, but he is up there.

If I was really making a list my top 5 (not necessarily in order) would be Em, Mos Def, Nas, Kweli, and probably Dizzee at the moment. Red and Meth would be up there close to it too.
