True. But at this point in time, for anyone to admit that they made a mistake (and, furthermore, publicly apologise for it) is incredibly rare. I find it admirable.
I wonder if Nintendo really knew what the mention was (someone's profile page had them listed as favorite games)? That the important thing; was Nintendo trying to bully the site, or were they being foolishly reactive to something they had not fully analyzed yet?
Yeah, we missed the SG Burlesque show when it came into town last year :cry:

What exactly did nintendo do?
A user on suicidegirls.com mentioned that he enjoyed Zelda and Metroid in his personal profile. Nintendo contacted SG asking them to remove the comment, as they felt that their brand was being perpetuated on an "inappropriate" site. After realizing how insanely stupid and overzealous that was, they apologized and offered both SG and the specific user some free Nintendo stuff.

I for one have been a paid subscriber of SG for about 2 years now :D The chicks are hot, and the site fees are insanley cheap when you buy the multiple month package. Yes I am a perv :twisted:

This has very little to do with the first amendment. It's not like in other countries a specific company (say, Nintendo) gets to decide what speech is legal and what isn't.
Besides, the current U.S. regime is trampling free speech rights. We'll see what happens next week.

It's probably more an issue of knowing that this profile might turn up in a search engine while little timmy seaches for Metroid or Zelda related material. So they search out abuses to protect themselves.
