Someone on the Gamespot forums posted this. It's a plan for every person that buys Halo 2 to donate $1 to a charity. Apparently it has gotten a good response and a charity (THE ESA Electronic Software Association and their Charity A Nite to UNITE For Kids) is looking to set something up. Just wanted to post it here in case anyone was interested if it ever takes off. The post is on the XBox.com forums. Here is the link:

Not a bad idea. Dunno how many people would actually do it though.

Wait, how would you donate the dollar? Through PayPal or at the store?

They're still working on that...the up-to-date info is in the post at the XBox.com forums. I just wanted to give a heads up incase someone might be interested if it happens.

eh, what if Bungie/Microsoft donated 1 dollar for every Halo 2 preordered. That'd be more impressive to me.

Perhaps not ever single person, but many would I'm willing to bet. If they somehow started a campaign with retailers then you'd be able to raise a lto quite easily. There's like what, 1.5 million preorders? Say only 1.2 million pick up said preorders and only about 1/3 donate the extra dollar when they pay for it, that's still pretty close to $400,000 raised for a good cause.

You could call it the Covenant Earth Protection Fund (CEPF). People would fork over a few bucks, strangely enough.

I just dont see much happening with this, A million plus people are going to be spending 50-60 after tax on halo after that kind of spending I know I'm deffnitely not feeling generous. If bungie wants to donate $1 out of every LE preorder or the regular version (probably less of the regular version will actually be sold), thats cool.

I'd rather get a Halo 2 Slurpee for the ride home.

Yeah well that is what being cheap is about. Buy seriously I don't think the idea is so hot at this late stage in the game, now had this been suggested back when preorders first started so people could give then, well that would be another story.

It's a dollar. When you're paying 50-60 dollars, does a dollar make any difference? I'm cheap, but not that cheap.
