Wombat was an asshat at the start of this episode.
Wombat you must listen to The Geekbox.
Also I think Hulu monthly is meant for people WITHOUT cable.
Tales of Vesperia is awesome.
I'm REALLY glad I decided to reserve the new 360. Gamestop will let you still trade in an xbox for $100 if you reserved it when the deal was going on. My Xbox is a LAUNCH system so it's worth less than $100.

Wow really, you didn't even think it was that bad cheapy? strange how the rest of the community seemed to be able to see how bad it was. now lets listen to the rest of the show.
The 5 people who had quotes about cheapy was almost a little awkward as well tbh, on the other side the atmosphere in this show seems better than its been in a lot of the past ones, you've all seemed kind of disjointed lately but this show brought it back to snuff! I guess all marriages need to go through a rough patch to see how much they really appreciate each other!
Also Cheapy really had me fooled with that wombat wasn't gonna be on the show, i think this is the first time cheapy nailed the intro joke!
Good show!

I'm glad to hear Cheapy apologize. I actually fell for the bait that Wombat wasn't on the show and was about to get depressed.
Glad that this is something they can move on from :applause:

Man my wife LOVES banana ice cream. She makes me take her to goodberries everytime that is the flavor of the day...
On the topic of move light gun games, Cheapy said he wanted a virtua cop collection, how about a time crisis one:

Also, I think Robert Ashley's voice and delivery on a Life Well Wasted is part of the charm of the show.

Cheapy, you should see if you can catch Robert Ashley when he's on another podcast, when that guy talks normally he sounds TOTALLY high. Oh and the golden girls theme was a nice touch.

My CHEAPY impressions;
Well, I didn't meet CD at this years E3 which was disappointing. But I did at last years Joystiq party and I have to say he was insanely nice when I met him. Shipwreck was more awkward/standoffish so I was surprised to hear the opposite with Wombats anon impressions. Cheapy took a picture with me even though he just stepped into the party and was happy to do so.
Great guy and I regret not going to the 2010 CAG party (was too tired!). I never met Wombat though, so I can't give my impressions. But I'm sure he's a douche.
I love you wombat.
But for the douchiest internet "celeb" I have met has to go to Ryan Davis (from Giant Bomb). I ran into him on the show floor (this E3) and let him know that I'm a big fan of his show and that I think he's a great guy and he basically said, "Yea... ok... we are going to film now" in a class A douche way. Also, Brian Krecente(?) seemed like a stuck up ass as well.

Sorry if I came off standoffish. Just plain awkward was what I was going for. :) Honestly, I was extremely tired at the Joystiq party last year and dozed off a bit afterwards when Cheapy and I went to see Star Trek. To be honest, I was a lot more outgoing at this year's E3. At least I think I was...

I agree with Cheapy with regards to E3 this year. The entire event was extremely boring. The focus on motion controls (which I have no interest in) was dull. I think some interesting games were shown but were overshadowed by casual stuff. Which is a shame since E3 isn't necessarily targeting a casual gaming crowd or at least it won't be viewed by one :)
Great Cagcast guyz look forward to the next one.

In his apology to Wombat, Cheapy somehow came across even worse than last week. It was a very insincere apology where he didn't really admit to doing anything wrong. Wombat bringing in opinions from 5 other people was maybe a bit much, but it just goes to show how skewed Cheapy's perception can be. He always says how he's so glad to get out of the house and talk to people, so you would think he's a very friendly guy, yet these five people have encounters with Cheapy that say otherwise. I'm very disappointed in Cheapy. He's my vote for CAG villain of the year. What Cheapy is really like as a person was exposed in these two podcasts.

Relax, it didn't become the VAGcast or anything. There's a quick apology, and lots of funny.
Now for something completely different...

Yeah, Ryan addressed that on one of the latest Bombcasts apologizing for having to do that. Interesting that you experienced that, though. My friend met him and Vinny on the floor and said they were incredibly nice, even took a picture with 'em despite the fact that they were hauling around a bunch of video equipment.
HAHA @ intro. Good selection Cheapy.
About the discussion about Cheapy at E3, it reminded of my first face to face with Wombat. When I met Wombat at PAX East, he was nice to me but I didn't think he wanted to hang with me cuz he had to go somewhere after I asked him where he was off to all three times I bumped into him. That was my impression. I wouldve liked to have had dinner with him to chat but he seemed like he had more important engagements. Maybe next year.

Good show today. I'm glad that things were (mostly) smoothed over.
It is not terrible for Cheapy to be humbled a bit every once and a while. He has a very good point about the difficulty of communicating primarily over the internet. Sarcasm, joking and other forms of communication sometimes don't come through fully without seeing people's non-verbal responses.

Geez, what do you want from the guy? He apologized, Wombat accepted. Would tears have sufficed? Or should CheapyD have offered half of CAG as an apology. I thought the apology was fine and apparently Wombat did as well. Plus, he did mention they spoke before the show about it, where he apologized as well.

Shipwreck, in regards to Demon's Souls first boss, are you referring to the giant monster with the club or the blob-type monster?
I disagree with Shipwreck's assessment on Kinect, and that is going to be due to the high price of entry for the device. Sure you know what you get with the Wii, and while Kinect may be different, it's not $150-$250 different to the average consumer. That's not even accounting for Kinect having/not having a game packed in with it.

I agree with Shipwreck that Kinect will sell well (groan) b/c of better timing, but also because more of that casual market seems to have 360s and/or Wiis.
Along with a new Time Crisis game, could we please see some other light gun games come out on one of these things? Another House of the Dead would be great, or some other arcade game (can't think of the name of the one lightgun game where you are spies) or Jurassic Park.

... every time you say anything that hurts Wombats feelings I feel like the first thirty minutes of the next show are dedicated to kissing his ass. And Wombat coming back with a list of negative comments about Cheapy was really low rent. On the previous episode the banter was all in the flow of the show, not premeditated and vindictive. I typically love the chemistry of the show, but the fragile ego of Wombat is starting to kill the fun vibe the show typically has when everyone is riffing on each other.

Good Cagcast guys. Solid apology Cheapy. I am glad you hit on the major things this all brought up, and address them. Plus, happy to see how you guys said you spoke off air. Which is way more important. Sometimes in life it is not the content of what you say, but how you say it that can get the most reaction.
I always defended your ribbing, and jokes even when some people get offended. I honestly hope it doesn't stop, and you guys continue with it. Just know that with anyone there are limits, and with every friendship you just have to recognize them. No harm, no foul, and better yet you actually learned more about each other. In other words, you guys actually have become closer because of this.
I am actually happy though that you guys kept the CAGcast moving forward. This was actually one of the better ones you had in a while. Funny, upbeat, no one was talking over each other, and overall a good listen. Now keep up the good work all three of you, and remember to just have fucking fun with this. Remember, we are all talking about video-games here! HAHA

Even though Cheapy hurt Wombat's feelings during the last podcast, I think those anonymous comments segment about Cheapy was uncalled for and was not tasteful at all. I have to agree with Cheapy that E3 was boring and focused too much on motion games. Maybe you guys should do Skype video call again so you guys can see each others' reaction. Then again, maybe you guys will get too distracted. Otherwise, good show guys.

Oh, and regarding Shipwreck's Donkey Kong score... He may never be able to match Wiebe or Mitchell, but Eminem's high score is 465,800. Shipwreck has to be able to beat that, or the world really is going to end in 2012.

Great podcast guys. Glad to see everything patched up and everyone loving each other again. Although the quote list was a bit much I thought it was funny and was more like the old CAGcast where you guys would talk about something funny in your personal lives. That doesn't happen as often as now as it did before. Hoping you get back to that.
P.S. Best outro of the year.

Good show people, the "random comments about Cheapy" bit was comedy gold, best section I've heard on the CAGcast for a long time. I was laughing my ass off.
You sounded a bit gutted Cheapy, remember that no-one is loved by everyone and a bit of humility never killed anyone.
I think we can all move on now.......to bashing Ship for his excessive Gingerness (just kidding).
Again, really enjoyed the show.

I would love to get in on the Hour of Victory action.
I ran into Cheapy, Wombat and Shipwreck several times throughout the week during E3. Each time they stopped and took the time to talk, even when they were running to appointments. Shipwreck and I took turns taking pictures with Nathan Fillion (Nathan Fillion is actually a little weird about being touched), Cheapy was always friendly and extended invitations to his party, and Wombat is really funny in person, cracking jokes throughout that ridiculous Activision concert.

This episode was very Wombat-centric. It felt like Cheapy was a humbled, and Wombat then took the opportunity to establish the fact that the people love him. It didn't feel like the usual episode.
It's surprising how the roles have reversed. Hopefully in next episode everything goes back to the normal balance.

Wombat consistently comes across as insecure and as a result of that constantly makes snarky remarks. Cheapy may have gone a bit too far ribbing wombat in the last episode (because it was obvious that wombat was taking it personally pretty early on), but talk about being a hypocrite on Wombat's part.

No shit. Where is Wombat's apology to everyone he tells to fuck off when they dare criticize him?
I do agree with Cheapy that spending time in real life with someone is a hell of a lot different than an internet friendship and Sorry, to break it to Wombat, but online friendship aren't as important. (or shouldn't be)

I'm convinced that Wombat is a girl. Grow some thicker skin and get the sand out of your vagina already. Normal guys don't get all butt hurt over lame comments such as the ones Cheapy made. Not trying to be a dick, but damn Wombat you really need to let things slide.
After listening to the first part of the show it's clear that Wombat was trying to get back at Cheapy with the five comments from people about Cheapy.
To all of you CAGS: I love how you all kiss Cheapie's ass when he gives the community free stuff. Then when he makes a few comments about Wombat you all turn on him and tell him he's an asshole. Seriously? Fuck off already.

Yeah, it has been kind of awkward listening to the past two shows with how people keep getting trash talked. At this rate, Shipwreck is going to get harassed next episode. Hopefully that won't be the case, though, and that things will go back to normal. Too much drama for my liking.
Also, I totally want in on the Hour of Victory thing, Ship.

I thought all three of you were super chill and nice at the golden gopher. I must have complimented Shipwreck ten times that night for being so noble and such a genuine nice guy . Wombat was the most adorable little Jew ever (in a purely heterosexual way ) and Cheapy didn’t even make me eat his underwear . You guys are all cool in my book and hopefully I will get a chance to meet you again next year . Cheapy , who was that dude who was buying me Scooby Snacks ???

Hey CagCrew. Ballslapper (Ricochet) is included in Kinect Adventures.
As far as Kinect goes I don't have the same animosity towards the tech or games that you do but I will say flat out that, apart from possibly Dance Central or the Ubisoft fitness game, if any of these games come out for more than 29.99 it will be obscene. If they want to pull this off they need to price these games as impulse purchases. Even an enthusiast gamer (fine, enthusiast Wombat...) may pick up Kinect for $150 for the few games that may fill a more core-centric itch as well as the novelty of the Minority Report UI control. I consider myself an enthusiast gamer that fits in this group and some of the mini-game compilations like Adventures could be fun but if they price something like that more than $29.99 (and more realistically $19.99) this whole thing will turn to shit really quick.
I'm a gamer in my 30s now and although I don't have kids of my own I have a growing assortment of cousins between 2 and 8 and I have no problem putting down 20 bucks or so for a game that I can break out for family get-togethers knowing that they will all have a blast and watching them will be more than enough entertainment for the rest of us. But sorry kids, I'm not putting down $60 for a novelty game that may be played once every couple months.

Almost everyone has that point in time when they say something to someone and they do not realize how it is coming across to the other person.
It is life, it happens, good friends get past it and cut each other some slack for being an asshat every now and then. EVERYONE (yes, everyone) has been one, or worn one, at some point and time. Lord knows I have.
Oh, and Shipwreck... I LOVE Banana Icecream! Put some chocolate MagicShell on it is and it brings back fond memories of when Kings Island used to sell chocolate covered frozen bananas

Shipwreck is a terrible judge of what games/gaming products will be big because he buys everything.
Kinect will bomb. No doubt about it.
Price is too high. Experiences shown are just copies of what is on the Wii. Consumers that had $200 or more to spend on a fitness or dance game etc already have a Wii.
KInect is to Eye Toy as Move is to Wiimote.
Kinect tech is not proven either. Can't wait to see all the hiccups that will occur when it is let go in the wild.
MS should have readied their next console instead. I mean 5 years later we get a new $300 patched this-gen console and an offer to pay another $150 to get a copy of what the competition's console has been doing for the last 4 years. Yawn. Fail.

Even after defending Wombat in last week's episode slightly, I don't think CheapyD should change.
Wombat DOES need to grow some bigger balls. I bet he was really riding high on the coattails of that episode accepting pity from everyone and then using that pity to bash CheapyD.
I mean really, you went out and got 5 people to say how much they disliked Cheapy? ......And apparently it's all cool when you do that?
Don't like that. Maybe Wombat should get his wife on the show so whenever someone "upsets" him, she'll be the first to screech.

CheapyD impressions:
I met him at the CAG party at Golden Gopher. Very friendly, although he had a limp handshake and seem stoned the whole time. I saw him talking to CAGs and he seemed to be having a lot of fun at the get together, so who cares if E3 sucked this year?
Otherwise, I had a short chat with Wombat and found him to be extremely friendly and likable.

Met Cheapy a couple times at E3. Once in the Marriot while he and Wombat were waiting in line for the PlayStation press conference check-in, another time bumping into him and Shipwreck as they went into the media center, and at the end of the show in the Activision meeting room. Every time all of them were very nice and approachable. Conversations weren't more than a minute or so though but nonetheless, I didn't notice any of the qualities the random 5 people said about Cheapy.
I feel like asking 5 people from the industry is a bit of a wash because most of them probably feel the way that the one of the five did: that they expected Cheapy to know who he/she was or have him interact with them like they are important or something. Me, I don't work for a big site (GamerLimit.com) so I wouldn't expect him to know me. Just approached him as a fan first :)

Just Dance has sold 3MM copies and it doesn't even work. There are 312 five star and 167 four star reviews on Amazon. People are paying $40 to watch crappy music videos with crappy sound quality on their $200 gaming system while they wave a little stick around and get a random score and they are extremely satisfied with it.

Wombat is right on with Raven Software. It feels like Activision doesn't know what they have and they keep giving them high profile assignments but what they kick ass at is making Marvel Comics games: X-Men Legends, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and X-Men Origins Wolverine.

"You said that I was obnoxious,..... maybe you should be thinking a little less about whether or not someone in your entourage is carrying a swag bag and more about whether or not you have a smile on your face."
That quote was cold Wombat.. nice and subtle; a stark contrast to my other favorite comment years ago when Cheapy said something like "I wrote this whole show Bitch!" anyway, good job Cheapy for being able to take the heat; That's one of the main things that I enjoy about the show is that you've always been able to take heat, (whether you deserved it or not) and a lot of criticism. Definitely says a lot about your character.

I actually got Playstation Plus and so far I think it's well worth the $3.33 per month. Age of Zombies was awesome and I always wanted to buy Wipeout HD, but I was too cheap to pay $15. I also like the idea of getting a new skin every month and the one you get the first month is actually pretty cool.
However, I think they can improve upon is their PSOne selection. Rally Cross is kinda useless.

Dear Cheapy,
I am writing to honor your request for an anonymous comment. You might not remember me; I'm just one of your gushing, dorky fans. It's Jay, by the way.
When I first saw you at E3, my heart skipped and I almost pooped myself. Nervously, I walked over and introduced myself, and you nonchalantly acknowledged me and walked on to another booth. That was it.
For those people who may be insulted at someone's lack of enthusiasm, I have to say: Get the fuck over it. If I had to travel halfway around the world to some bullshit convention that just wasn't worth it, I'd be pretty pissed off as well. My guess is that Cheapy was jet lagged the whole time and not too happy about it. If I was in his situation, I might have tried to kill someone just for getting in my way.
So, maybe Wombat's anonymous informants were too selfish themselves and couldn't understand what might prompt unenthusiastic behavior. The next time you see a woman pissed off, assume that she has severe vaginal itch. The next time you see a man in a hurry, assume that he has to take a massive poop very badly and is racing to a toilet to keep from soiling his slacks. The next time you see a person who is fatigued, assume that they have had a giant rock in their shoe from the moment they left the house.
Wombat, don't you live and work in New York? Wouldn't you be accustomed to this kind of attitude? I understand that you were trying to make a point by interviewing these people, but in my opinion, Cheapy had a damn good excuse for not skipping around with a giant smile and a rainbow coming out of his ass.
And I want to be perfectly frank: I think Cheapy is an asshole too. However, I do think that he should be forgiven under these circumstances.
I sincerely thank all three of you for an ass-kicking show.

Not completely through the show yet but I wanted to note that (as someone who was highly critical of Wombat last week), I appreciated his taking it like a man and doing the show in an upbeat mood this week. He still got his shots in on cheapy (with those 5 comments from journalists) but he seemed to let it go for the most part.
On another topic, Cheapy my son is 3 and was brutal to potty train (poop-wise). He was the last one in his day care class to learn. I got him to finally "make a deposit" by leaving him without pants for about an hour and half after eating. That was the only thing that worked. Every other google-searched suggestion failed. Hope this helps!

I can't believe Cheapy apologized to WomBABY !
Cheapy basically called him out for his apparently obnoxious and rude behavior, which WomBABY conceded to. Yet instead of handling it like an adult, Wombaby throws a tantrum and Cheapy gives in.
I suppose the next step is for Cheapy to apologize that his food was not delicious enough for Wombat and change the site to www.wombabygamer.com since he (not Cheapy) wears the pants

Cheapy and Ship know that Wombat can't take being poked at. Ship said so himself in a previous episode. It was just a case of Cheapy forgot. Everyone has friends and we know there are things we don't do to certain friends. The apology was a bit long but definitely necessary. In Cheapy's defense about the 5 people Wombat asked about him. Everyone has to admit probably 85-90% of people on the net are just plain strange. When he only gets to come to America once or twice a year and he has 300 people come up to him and act like they know him because of the website and listening to the cag cast he probably has a certain state of mind in those types of events. In a regular situation I'm sure he's great. Cheapy's also seems like someone who likes to keep his hands to himself so taking food of his plate is the thing you can't do to Cheapy. For who built the Transformers I believe it was Hasborotron right?

Ive listened since the first podcast and Wombat have always annoyed me and struck me as juvenile and self centered. But this was really too much. What a child he is - and surely he must be not only self centered but self obsessed. He makes me sick now. I used to tolerate him but this is enough.
And all his slimy snake like attempts at getting everything for free. "Free games! Im important so give me stuff!" Yuk! And ofcourse everyone needs to talk about him. All other people in the industry must respect the child wombat. Hes really a loud and important voice for all gamers and industry.. yeah right.. Hes a piss ant with too much ego and too little ability is what he is.
Still - I think he belongs in the CAG cast. He occationally sais some funny things and ive grown to get used to him hanging around the mic when the adults are talking on the podcast. So keep him around. Just tell him to pipe down a few notches and to stop being such an asshole. The few times when he actually genuinely talks about games and forget about himself he can actually be quite entertaining, so get well soon.
Good luck CAG cast!

I honestly thought you were a huge asshole last episode Cheapy, you ripped on Wombat a little too much. There is a difference between "busting balls" and hurting your friends feelings. It was very disrespectful to basically call Wombat loud, rude and annoying after he mentioned multiple times that the reason he enjoyed E3 so much was being able to spend time with his friends.
Saying that Wombat isn't your friend, whether that's what you meant to say or not, was mean. Wombat is probably one of your better friends now in Japan. Wombats mother question serves right to show you how stupid your comments were. Now, as Shipwreck said, "I love you both, now let's put this behind us".
I should also mention that I honestly feel that Wombat and Shipwreck seem a lot more fun to be around then you. I like all three of you but you seem almost uninterested in most things. I can fully understand why people would call you bored and standoffish

Hulu charging is BS! (but I can't say I did not see it coming)
I guess I can see it as a "cable alternative", but that as a business model just seems odd to me for some reason.
Waiting for ESPN360 until November is a drag, but at least they are not going to charge extra. (providing your ISP carries it).

My 2 cents...
Cheapy needs to work on apologies but the sentiment was there.
The people's opinions of Cheapy really don't seem to take into consideration that he is from Japan and the time change and travel time would account for a lot of what people would consider his attitude and energy. (not being the life of the party). I would imagine a party in his time zone with people who are 12 hours off schedule, just flew hours, then attended a conference for a couple days, that most people would not be the life of the party.
Hulu plus is exciting for me, I haven't watched TV that wasn't on Hulu or Netflix for more than 2 years, I have an antenna not cable and we watch the news, everything else I watch on the computer or the PS3 and 360. I have an iPad so now I can watch more Hulu content and I can watch it in many more places. I am in the minority not having cable so I don't know how many people the plus will appeal to but it has my name all over it. I don't mind that there are still commercials, they are very minimal compared to regular TV and if that is what it takes to keep Hulu alive so I don't have to resort to other more questionable, means to watch the shows I enjoy, it is still way cheaper than cable.

Edit: Wombat, the Quintessons created the Transformers. You see them in the movie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quintessa
That is only partly true. Only in the TV show did the Quintessons create the transformers. In the Comic it was Primus the huge robotic god that created the transformers. And in the Micheal Bay movies, those were created by him taking a big Cheapy D sized dookie all over my childhood.

I didn't think they were that hard on Wombat when this all started, but yet I know exactly how Wombat feels because I have been in that situation. A few people think everything is funny and they are having a good time messing with you and in the meantime you aren't having fun. Getting piled on can suck.
Now, do we get to have a feedback session during periodic CagCasts to point out when Wombat is being an a jerk (or other descriptive words or phrases to describe how he acts)? In light of events, fair is fair - right? Now understand, I laugh at this stuff and at these moments and it usually adds to the show. I don't know how many times when I am listening to the CagCast Wombat says stuff and acts in manners that make me wonder how can Cheapy put up with him on his show. He can be rather obnoxious and I don't hear Cheapy and Shipwreck laughing.
To wrap up, no I don't think there should be feedback like I mentioned. I don't want any of our esteemed hosts changing who they are. We are lucky to have 3 diverse hosts. But, if somebody wrongs another, fix it up but don't follow up with a little smack down on one of the other people. That's kind of like I except your apology but only if I get to point out your not perfect. A little artificial to me and like payback was more important. It wasn't any better having Cheapy being very bothered about the feedback Wombat shared from other people. That is almost worse than what started this whole thing because Cheapy wasn't hurt by something Wombat did or said but by other people - and Wombat and Shipwreck are in the "know" and Cheapy isn't. If those people really had issues, they should be adults and let Cheapy know themselves. Speak up or forever hold your peace. Using Wombat was rather wimpy and childish.
Just my 1/2 cent opinion from my 1/2 pint mind.

Good Show guys.
I disagree with you guys on Hulu+ they want to be an alternative to cable. Anything on Hulu is On Demand so you don't "need" a DVR and its only 10 bucks. Your 10 also lets you watch from any PC, iPhone, iPad, basically anything that can get to Hulu. If you could get 75% of your TV from that and the other from a combo of Over The Air, Netflix, and Ala Cart Downloads you could save a ton of money each month. Yeah its not for everyone, but there is a legitimate use case for some people and maybe this kind of competition will start to bring down cable, and satellite prices.

In all seriousness, CheapyD seemed like a nice guy at the party. I will say he appeared more like a detached businessman though. Shipwreck and Wombat seemed a little more outgoing at the event, but these personality differences aren't that big of a deal. :bouncy:
Anyway, good show. I don't think everyone should keep making a big deal about last week's podcast. Sure, it was a little heartbreaking hearing a "sad panda Wombat", but everyone apologized for it.

Regarding the Move, Kinect battle. I am not saying that the move will sell better than the Kinect, but it has 2 HUGE things going for it.
First it can be advertised as a starting price of 50 dollars. While this might not seem like a huge deal to everyone who follows various gaming news sites. This is a great ending to the commercials. Think how Mircosofts 360 commercials end "Xbox 360 starting at $199."
That is how Sony will be marketing their product "Playstation Move STARTING at $50"
Second, almost everyone seems to forget the big deal that sony signed with Coke-Cola. It is being called the biggest marketing promotion in Coke-Cola history. This along with get the Move in peoples minds.
Overall I think the fact that the move is very similar to the wii, plus the Blu-ray capabilities of the PS3 and the things mentioned above will allow the move to have great market penetration. I don't know how much the move will sell, but it will sell well.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love to see another Raven action RPG game, but I'd rather see something of their own creation.

I wanted to say something about the DLC topic. For example the Alan Wake DLC, sure it might be too late for those that picked up the game at launch, but for those who get the game in about a month or so, that DLC is perfect. And then you also have cases for games like Mass Effect 2, in which people might want to replay it before Mass Effect 3 comes out, and once again the DLC is right there if you want to get it. Same goes for some sandbox or sports games, in which you might replay it and feel like getting it.

I'm surprised out of all the video game podcasts out there to hear you chose to listen to A Life Well Wasted. It's not bad by any means, and the production quality is top notch, but for some reason I find it sort of dull. Not to mention he only releases one every 6-8 months. I much prefer the best of the weekly stuff (like the Bombcast).
Great episode, though.

Hey, I got a mention on the CAGcast! Go me! I spit out my soda when you thought I was the guy who talked to Wombat. Hilarious!
Like Cheapy said, I met all three of you at e3 (in the case of Cheapy and Shipwreck, for the second time) and thought all three of you were pretty great. Then again, I might be a little biased, since Cheapy bought me lunch and I have "Wombat Liberation Army" tattooed on my arm. My girlfriend, also met you, and is less biased. She offered this insight:
Cheapy D: Seems nice, and very generous, but also seems shy and very aware of his own height (probably from living in Japan). Snappy dresser, but needs to stand up straight.
Shipwreck: The Favorite. Shipwreck was cute, and very personable. Ship was the most friendly of the three.
Wombat: It was very brave of him to wear his Bakugan jacket into a bar full of smelly dudes. Wombat was the most outgoing of the three, but she wasn't sure why anyone would put a furry on their card.
So there you go. You're all good people, but apparently Shipwreck is the best. Good thing for me that he's married, or we'd have to have a good old-fashioned West-Side-Story rumble.

Move has a bunch of major issues it needs to address:
1) It needs to differentiate itself better from the Wii. Why do you need Move if you already have a Wii?
2) Multiple configurations are going to confuse the hell out of casual consumers. Some games use one Move controller, some use two Move controllers, some use one Move controller plus one sub controller. Add in the camera and it's a major issue. Probably half the people that bought a Wii required help to even connect the system to their TV. This is a huge barrier for these people.
3) Cost. There's no way Sony will advertise it starting at $50 because of the consumer backlash they'd face. It will be expensive as hell to get a family of four playing Sports Champions.
4) It lacks a killer app. Wii has Wii Sports. Dance Central at least shows promise of this for Kinect. What is the Move killer app?
5) Consumer noise and lack of focus. Sony is going to be advertising 3D, exclusive titles, exclusive content and Move all at the same time this fall.

I love the show and have listened since episode1 and I have to admit, while the segment was funny, having 5 people talk shit about CheapyD was hypocritical and shows that Wombat need to grow a pair and get some thicker skin. It was noticeable that Wombat feelings were getting hurt on the previous show but I don't think Cheapy was being malicious at all, he just took a joke a little too far. I like all three of you and I hope the chemistry isn't lost because Cheapy is being too self conscious about pissing off Wombat.
I think Move is going to be a failure, not only for being WiiHD at its core, but because of the terrible pricing structure.
Kinect has a better chance because it's totally different and as long as MS recognized that and develops new experiences for the technology and not try to shoehorn existing stuff it could at the very least be profitable.
Cheapy, I tried everything for my son to get potty trained. What finally worked was me putting him in underwear exclusively and when he shit his pants instead of going on the pot, have him wear the shit draws for about an hour so he new how uncomfortable it would be. Only had to do that for one day and it worked. Good luck with Tai.

I never really post here, but I'm glad everything is patched up - more or less. If I were Wombat, I'd think twice about opening up about how much fun it was to hang out with these guys. Wombat is a sensitive guy and that's cool. Nothing wrong with that. As for the other two guys, there's a time to give you buddies shit and there are times when you don't.
Right after your "friend" becomes vulnerable and opens up and says how much he likes hanging out with you, that's not the time to harp on his flaws and that you didn't "love" hanging out with him in return.
Especially if your friend happens to be sensitive.

Howdy,
I'm glad Cheapy apologised like everyone else is saying, but I don't think he's an arsehole in general.
I caught up with Cheapy last year in Japan when we went to visit and he was very friendly indeed. I'm not a huge forum-ite or anything on here, but he was very forthcoming to my wife and me when basically he had no idea who I was, apart from being a listener to the show.
I'm dissapointed I didn't try and say g'day to Wombat when I was in New York 2 years ago.. oh well.. maybe oneday. 8-)

I think Wombat was being a dick in this ep, just as much as Cheapy was in the last ep. The only difference is that come next week, we won't be hearing any apology from Wombat.
Cheapy apologized sincerely right at the start and Wombat just wouldn't let him live it down. He kept making little comments like "nobody likes you" and even pulled out that list of comments.
When someone apologizes you either forgive them or you don't. If you forgive him, you need to let it go and stop trying to get even.

I only mention this because I'm really digging the CAGcast as of late (minus the hosts bickering like old women or teenage girls)
Isn't it time for some PC coverage on the CAGcast? If this podcast is to help grow the CAG community adding some PC talk might help. I know, I know out of the three of you no one owns a gaming PC.
One of you guys need to buy a pre-built system or give a member of the CAG PC community a short segment.
A case without any evidence isn't much of a case.
Exhibit A.
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=265457
Also known as the most active CAG thread over the past week and a few days.
Exhibit B.
Blizzard is going to have the two top grossing games this year (WOW and SCII) which are both PC exclusives.
Closing argument:
PC gaming on Windows 7 is easier than on the 360 or PS3. If a game comes out broken, games are patched without going through PSN or XBLA approval process which can take months (see Castle Crashers). Steam ensures you get these patches without even having to launch the game. I've heard on previous podcasts that getting games to run on the PC platform just takes too much time. This was totally true 10 years ago, but as consoles have gradually turned into mini-computers and PCs have turned into a more stable gaming platform there really isn't much of a difference.
I could go on about what your options are if a PC component stops working versus if a console component stops working, but I'll leave the jury to ponder that one.

We are much better off having no PC coverage at all from these guys than half-assed PC coverage full of factual errors and weird assumptions. The CAGcast is good the way it is, and I really hope Cheapy didn't blow any cash on a gaming rig if APB was the PC-exclusive he really wanted to play.

Really Wombat? I just felt uncomfortable the past two episodes. Wombat you are milking the cats nipples too hard. The list of what people thought of Cheapy was a bit childish... It just made me feel like I was gossiping. I can vaguely get your position, but he seemed harmless and you keep digging into him this time. Wombat, you were pretty dickish to Ship when he started and he didn't whine. Love the show guys, just get along and bring the chuckles! Besides none of us being PC gamers, I think the main stumbling block for covering them on the show is trying to keep all three hosts interested in talking about them. If one of us were to get a gaming rig, the other two would have a really hard time caring about games they will likely never play. That said, I'm going to guess OnLive will open up some discussion on the show in the near future.

Maybe do a pre-recorded PC minute with one of the CAG PC enthusiasts highlighting one PC game between segments?
I will admit OnLive might duplicate a portion of the PC experience, it is highly unlikely it will duplicate the thrill of picking up a game dirt cheap on Steam (like Borderlands and all the DLC for around $20), and playing it immediately after it downloads. OnLive will stream a purchase immediately, but its bottleneck, internet speed/caps, will be a serious bottleneck that will be difficult if not impossible for many CAGs to fix, versus upgrading a hardware is an "easier" fix for most PC enthusiasts.
Ship, I respect the time the three of you take to do the podcast, cover games, and participate in the community (while only one of you actually makes a living based on CAG). As the consoles grow older, and as Steam continues to expand as the best online retailer my guess is more CAGs will move into PC/MAC gaming. Maybe that guy that makes a living of the web site could set you or Wombat with some mid-range PCs to play most budget titles.:)

I don't really post a lot on this site, or comment on the podcast (which I have been enjoying for a couple years!), but I had to come here and say I thought Wombat acted like a whiny, petty douche in this episode.
In the previous show when Cheapy managed to offend Wombat with a frank comment about how he didn't feel like he actually knew Wombat THAT well since part of getting to know someone includes things you can only get face to face. I've had plenty of online buddies, and when I've met a few of them, it wasn't instant chemistry. I know what Cheapy was saying in that show, and it shouldn't have been taken as offense by Wombat. Maybe if Cheapy actually DID know Wombat better, he would have known that Wombat has a sensitive vag and would probably read into a vague comment something that isn't there and get pouty about it.
This type of thing happens; not everyone's emotions or ways of interpreting things are calibrated the same way. Maybe Cheapy shouldn't have even ventured into those waters with that comment, but it happened, and this episode's apology was the right thing to do, even if I think Wombat shouldn't be upset anyway.
Having to apologize like that, publicly, on air, is a tough thing to do, and took a decent amount of humility on Cheapy's part. It wasn't fun, I imagine. But then Wombat goes and actively DOES RESEARCH in order to compile a list of people shitting on Cheapy. What a petty, childish thing to do. It was obvious Cheapy did not intend to offend with his remarks last show, but Wombat gets his apology, plus an intentional stab at Cheapy. It's pretty disgusting and really disappointing.

I'm surprised Cheapy didn't come to the conclusion that Robert Ashley must be a pothead due to his voice since that's what everybody would say during the GFW Radio days. If Cheapy wants a good podcast, he should check out the Drunk Tank podcast that Rooster Teeth does, which should have all of the over-the-top co-worker hatred he could ask for so he won't have to take it out on Wombat ever again.
Good show.

To my speculation both wombat and Cheapy are in the wrong with that podcast the other week, cheapy used the wrong phrases as it sometimes happens and wombat took it wrong but wombat shouldnt have took it so openly in the podcast to call attention to himself, yes it must have been hurtfull but I have been through alot of situations like that and I either just sucked it up or brought it up around closed doors.
Even all that wombat should be graciuosly humble toward cheapy beacuse he took time out to think about the situation alot , most people wouldnt have done such a thing or gave it a second thought.
PS I dont beleve cheap is " offputting" or " standoffish" in any way he seems like hes a character that you have to get to know for him to open up.
You guys really want to know what Cheapy is all about.?
Ok check this out, I know Cheapy D personally, and when I say personally, I mean it like the way Cheapy knows Wombat...I don't really know him all that well. But, I have met him and Shipwreck at E3 the past 3 years, and Cheapy has always been very cool.
Shipwreck really opened up this year; he seemed very energetic and eager to meet his listeners. Very nice guy, but he can't rap.
First impressions of Wombat: He is small and funny looking, but I think it was the red vest that made him look funny. But none the less he was willing to rap on camera, even though he stole Cheapy's Raps. He was also willing to do dance with our crew and a bum outside the bar, so that should tell you what kind of guy Wombat is, he is fun!
But here is the real example on how good of a friend Cheapy is to Wombat.
During the CAG party at E3, I commented on Wombat's size to Cheapy, on how I thought Wombat was smaller in person. Cheapy D almost seemed bothered by the comment, and replied "no he's not". Again, I tried to convince Cheapy on Wombat's size and Cheapy again seemed bothered and reply with the same answer, but this time with a much more fierce voice 'no he is not'.
So there you have it Wombat, Cheapy, although knowing that you are small, defended you and proved that he is a great friend, and cares for you by sticking up for you.
On another note, for those calling Cheapy D standoffish, I think it all boils down to the type of person you are. If you are intimidated by him, then he might seem like a douche, but if you actually treat him like a friend and actually approach him and talk to him like a man, you might think differently.

Definitely. Wombat treated Cheapy 10 times worse this ep. Yet, Cheapy was able to laugh and try to have fun with Wombat's reading other people's negative comments of Cheapy. It was an intentional form of revenge where Cheapy's comments last week were never intented to hurt his friend.
Cheapy offered a sincere apology, and Wombat barely accepted it. Sounds like he has major self image problems.

No online on Demon's Souls review copy also explains why it's a little more difficult. In the game, world tendency (whiter or darker) affects how much damage the enemies do and how much HP they have, it starts at neutral. When connected online the servers adds up the world tendency of all those games connected (most are pure or near pure white) and shifts the tendency of your game closer to the server average each time you log on. Eventually all your worlds will be just below pure white. You also miss out on the helpful hints left by players which point to hidden items and shortcuts.
The most important tips for level 1 are
1.)Explore to find the two switches which unlock shortcuts in the level
2.)Find the cling ring which gives you 33% more health
3.)Save the fire bombs for the boss.

My very first CAGCast. I suspect it was the worst one to start becoming a CAG podcast listener; whatever happened in the session prior to this must be unresolved. The show was painfully awkward at times. Dear Wombat, please shed the snarky and snide comments - it makes for a very unpleasant and uncomfortable show. The quotes from anonymous persons were beyond immature.

Regarding that whole friend bit, I've been a CAG member since the launch year and initially had both Cheapy and Wombat on my friends list. Cheapy removed me once and then I had made another request and he accepted, then mysteriously he removed me again and I didn't bother to request again. Wombat has never removed me although he doesn't answer any messages I send him. I'll leave the interpretation open.

I'm late to the party on the last 2 podcasts.
On the previous E3 podcast, it was an awkward one to listen to. Personally, I don't think Cheapy realized that his(and some of Boatcrash's) remarks were hurtful to Wombat. Althought I felt bad for Wombat, if he would have been taking my food off my plate without asking, he would have got punched.
I was glad to see Cheapy smooth things out at the start, then the podcast just turned childish (thanks to Wombat). Dude(Wombat), I know you were hurt but going around trying to get dirt on Cheapy to sling back at him was just f'n childish and petty. Seriously. After last weeks sour turn of events, the cast should have talked it out "off the air". A public apology from Cheapy was good but from there it should have been games all the way. Maybe Cheapy is standoffish. Hell the guy says he doesn't have a lot of friends maybe thats why, but there's no need to dig up a list of people to slam him back. Just Pathetic.
The CAGcast is my favorite podcast, because of the 3 different personalities. I just hope we don't have too many more of these sappy mudsling childish shows to go through.

Listen to another show or two. Cheapy D, Wombat, are normally fun to listen to. Shipwreck has some funny moments but most of all the dude knows gaming and is informative.

Cheapy never should have apologized for something that's obviously true.

Demon's Souls drove me nuts, but it sounds like I had the same problem as Shipwreck. I appreciate it for what it is, but it is not the Action RPG for me.
Yeah, I'm getting pretty annoyed by the game, I can't get passed the first level either. There seems to be a strategy, I read all tips left behind by other gamers, but still get my ass handed to. The worst thing about it, once you die ,you go back to the beginning, which gets frustrating, Luckly for me, I was on 1mg of Xanax, so it allowed me to go through it about 14 times before I fell asleep.
I will not give up, I think I'll read some more tips.

Wow.. 15 minutes of apologizing to Wombat? really? I mean, Really?! In the infamous words of The Godfather: "You can act like a Man!"..
And really, getting 5 "quotes" from people to trash Cheapy? think I saw that type of action in my daughter's 3rd grade classroom a few weeks ago.. For some reason, I just saw a smirk on Wombat's face as he was reading that, especially when he says he's starting with the nicest one first.. and it just grew into a huge grin by the end of the quotes.. hope you gave Cheapy a reach-around while you f'ed him with that 'bit'.. how long did it take to plan and prep for that?
And I felt bad for ginger-balls back there.. how uncomfortable that must have been to stay on the line while it's being recorded..
Time to bring the quality back up on the casts, guys.. I'm used to higher quality from you (though I got tired of all the poop talk for all those episodes really fast).. give Shipwreck some more time to talk, at least he's adding value to the casts right now.. Wombat's role appears to be just making snarky (and sometimes even funny) comments throughout the casts..
I find myself forwarding through the cast trying to find something of value for me to listen to it.. guess it's the cheap bastard in me who wants to see what value or entertainment I'll get out of giving up 90 minutes of my life to you.. you used to be in my top 3 (have to listen to) each week (behind D'toid and Major Nelson).. now you're on my "ehh, if I don't get to it, that's ok, I won't miss much" list..
Of course, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong..
