Im not sure about the rest of you, but I love my Adidas sandals. I wear them all the time. The only problem, is that they stink so bad they make you want to gag after 6 months of wear. I have finally found a way to REMOVE the smell!

Get some Gold Bond foot powder. Liberally apply the powder to the straps, and let them sit outside for 3 days. Each day, apply more powder, the more the better. Then, after the third day, rinse them off and take a wiff. There should still be a faint odor. No problem. Put them in the washer on the gentle/hand wash cycle. Use warm/warm water. Put in a little detergant. Wash them 2 times. Then put the washer on the soak cycle, and let them soak with a little bit of detergant for 24 hours. Wash one more time.

BAM they are now clean!

I've found a light bleach bath works very well.

Im not allowed to use bleach. Does it really work, the sandals are black and white, and the other pair is blue, black and white. Wont the bleach mess them up?

I think he meant he couldn't use bleach since the sandals are black.

Or maybe he is too embarrassed to talk about that time when he got mad at his mom and drank it....

Well I have blue sandals and I use diluted bleach to clean them. Basically 10 minutes of bleach, a minute water rinse and then I leave them outside for a few hours, it works fine for me.

not to b e a jackass or anything, but i wear flip flops almost every day here in hot and muggy florida and i have no "stank" to complain of....

maybe you should wash your feet more instead of bleach and nuke your sandals.

Does that get rid of the crud that accumulates between the nubblies?

I use the ones with the nubblies, those started to hurt me feet. They felt great if I wore socks with them, but that looks gay. The soaking removed most of it when I had the nubblie kind.

For that use a toothbrush, mainly mine just gain a smell but not much dirt so I don't worry about heavy scrubbing.

What you don't like to wear socks with your sandals, I admit it looks gay but its very comfortable.

I'm not a big fan of the Air Jesus shoes... But it seems like it would be easier to wash them, opposed to regular shoes.

You can, I found that soap by itself wasn't strong enough to get rid of the smell, but bleach is.

I know, the combo of the socks and adidas "nubblies" sandals is pure heaven. Its just too gay looking.

You can wear it if you just finished playing a soccer game. Otherwise it is a sad thing.

Weird thing just happened. I read this topic, left and went to my friends room (live in a dorm) and a girl had a pair on. She tried to kick me but I grab the sandal and someone told me to smell it. I did and it reeked.

Yes but since I look way to lazy to be gay its alright and sometime you've got to sacrifice style for comfort. Also I don't do it outside in public.

I've found that this cleaner works pretty well: Paxton's Sandal Saver (http://www.paxtoniscool.com/)

My sandals are leather, so I can't use harsh cleaners on them. They started to smell so bad that I needed to throw them out, but I had a hard time finding them in stores, so I didn't want to toss them. Fortunately, this cleaner worked and I was able to keep using them. I recommend it if you're having sandal stink.

Will have to look into getting that stuff before the beginning of next summer
