i agree that they have had actual musicians in the past, but now the show is just all crap, it was kinda funny in the 70's/early 80's when the show was actully hip and fresh, but now its just like a satire of itself.

A singer is supposed to sing. Thats why they are called singers.

Ashlee Simpson should not be called a singer. She should be called a Lip-syncer. She is a professional lip-syncer. She is not a professional singer.

i hate the early 90s casts. mike meyers and farley/spade especially. chris rock was funny (but funier after he left snl) norm macdonald is good...past those 2, cant say that anyone on the show was funny

The only thing I consistant;y enjoy on SNL is weekend update (which seems to get a lot more work, probably because it's the Head Writer's own showcase) and the occasional musical number, As I recall not only did Janet Jackson do a fully choreographed dance routine but she sang through it too.

The best jokes on SNL are the ones that fall apart so badly that the actors themselves crack up in the middle of the skits.
