I'm patiently rocking back and forth in my chair waiting for either IGN or Gamespot to post a review. Comes out tomorrow.. i'll get it sometime this week.

Is online play the focus? Will it be worth playing if you can't play online?

I think the game sounds very cool. IGN has a couple articles talking about the different units you can use. It sounds really cool.

It looks real cool, but with all these games coming out in november, this game may not make my list for this year.

the IGN review never stated the total hours to complete the game :/

the IGN review never stated the total hours to complete the game :/

That would be nice to know since I already don't have enough hours in the next 5 years to play all my games. :(

I seriously doubt it's longer than 15. Judging from the rest of the review, this whole game is watered down and simplified. It's made for the casual gamer. No way the developer's are going to make a casual gamer sit through hours of one of those boring RPGs.

I also want to know how long it takes to beat.

yeah i read the review as well, it calls the third age "rpg lite" as theres no need to level up, you are usually pretty powerful, theres no money or shops so the items you need are generally easy to just find in chests or win in battles. they also said that you never care about the characters at all so it wont matter to you if they die, which they wont because its pretty easy and unbalanced in your favor most of the time.

i still want to play it, because i usually lose interest in rpgs after awhile, so this may appeal to me more than i think... im not a hardcore rpg lover but i do enjoy them, so maybe EA has me, the average rpg player, in mind

I'm looking forward to it also. But by the sounds of it I'll probably blow through it in a week. I'm currently playing the extremly technical, but fun MegaTen Nocturne. LOTR Third Age will probably be child's play compared to that.

Ahh, the guy in the bar is Loki. I think you have to talk to some Manikin collector back in the tunnels and except a quest to get him a 100 yen bill.

finally a far more interesting review of the third age, much more indepth then IGN's, and even says how long it takes to complete, 40+hours :)

Any good? Gamerankings.com lists 8.5 out of 10 from IGN, 8.6 at TeamXBOX.. but 5 out of 10 from XBoxWorldMag UK??
