This morning I received an email asking me to verify my address for a fourth Prize in the Halo 2 Mountain Dew Sweepstakes. Since it had been months since I entered I had to Google the site to find the prize listing. First through third prizes include the game itself. Fourth Prize is a shirt. Swell. There goes all of my lottery karma.

All I have so far is an email to verify my address for receiving the expected package. Pictures will have to wait until I have some structured molecules instead of an elctron stream making promises.

My favorite Simpsons moment:

Homer roots around under couch cushions and produces a $20 bill.

Homer: Twenty dollars? But I wanted a peanut!

Homer's Brain: Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts.

Homer: Explain how!

Homer's Brain: Money can be exchanged for goods and services.

Homer: Woo-hoo!

That's a good one. Doesn't he then proceed to slip on the peanut he was looking for?

I got an email in that GoGreen sweeps they had awhile back. They said they needed me to verify my address so they could send me the prize claim form. They had my correct address, I clicked the link and ...nothing. They never sent me anything. If they had asked for more then my address, I would be suspicious...

I don't think you had to drink Mountain Dew to enter the sweepstakes.

I like Halo a lot but I don't think I'll be wearing a Halo T-shirt, in public, anytime soon........maybe around the house :)

It's funny. Considering that I won't be buying the game until I can get it cheap, I'm acquiring a lot of Halo 2 related tchotkes. Today I went to the Universal City Cinemas and got the commemorative DVd for the I Love Bees promotion. They were handed out to the first 50 people who showed up with the code phrase. I haven't had a chance to run it yet.

I just got done with the DVD. The big item on it is an entire extra chapter that ties up almost all the loose ends including the connection to Master Chief, the Halo, Melissa in our era, why she was drawn to the I Love Bees server, and at the very end we hear the Civil Defense sirens announcing the arrival of the Covenant in Earth orbit. Following that there is a farewell message from the Operator/Melissa.

Also on the disc is material covering the methods used to record the audio sessions and integrate sound effects and positioning, a set of unused chapters that start before the official first chapters, and some bits on how the site presentation evolved. Plus a full cast and crew listing so you can check on them in IMDB. Sophia's voice sounded familiar and it turned out to be an actress I know from recurring roles on highlander and other series.

Yea I just looked at my DVD and it was cool. I was hoping for a little gameplay demo or something, but the ilovebees story was still pretty cool. They only made 1500 of these DVD's I heard so it's pretty rare.
Here is a picture of mine since some of you have asked me what it looks like:
