Well, I got a look at it today, and the deals were mediocre for the most part (i.e. "Buy a DS and get $5 off the DS accessory kit!")

Two good ones, though:

1. Trade 4 games, get one preowned for $5
2. Trade 5 games, get one preowned for $1

I couldn't tell if these included PS1 trades or not.

Extra news: The clerk (it was a Dallas area Game Rush) said that he thought they'd start the "Trade 3, get a Preowned for $10" gig going again, except with no PS1 trades allowed this time.

I have similar coupons that I got from an EGM issue, i think. The 4 or 5 games must be PS2,GC,XBOX, or GBA. I also heard from someone else that the trade 3 deal was starting again.

Where in Dallas? I go to the ones in Plano and Frisco.

I heard it was gonna be 50% off preowned games, but I don't know for sure. And the couponbook sounds like it sucks ass. I was looking foward to it too. :cry: I wish they would bring back the trade 2 get a PO for $9.99.

I was told that (at least in the DFW area, where Blockbuster is based) they'd start the line at 9 p.m., and each store had only about 50 books, which they wouldn't actually distribute 'til midnight, when they started selling the game.

I don't know that those books are worth 3 hours in line on a work night.

You can basically get any game you want with that deal....when you preorder it and pay in full for 19.99 it gets marked in the system as paid in full. Then you can go back and ask to switch it to another preorder or even just get the credit back. Whey they cancel your preorder it will credit your account back 49.99 or whatever the MSRP of the game is. It doesn't take into account the amount you actually paid. I've done this twice. Once was when I switched my 29.99 preordered Halo 2 regular to Halo 2 Collectors, they refunded me 49.99 credit and then I traded 2 more games in and preordered the CE for 29.99 again (this store said so many people complained about them asking $5 above the 29.99 deal they just did it for 29.99) Another time was for a game I preordered also for 29.99 but picked up instead at TRU during the B2G1F deal. They just credited me my 49.99 on a value card.

Only thing is that they are having a madden tournament, not a halo tournament. The manager said halo is rated "m" and so no one 16 or under would even be able to watch the tournament.

I suggested having 2 tournaments(one for madden for the kids, one for halo for the grown ups, but they didnt like that idea.

Same story for me... plus I won a card good for 26 game or video rentals (1 each week for 6 months), a local radio station t shirt, and got to chow on some free pizza while I waited. They were going to be giving away an xbox and a few more copies of the game later, but the place will probably be cleared out by the time they do that. About 10 people when I got there around 10:15. Around 80 people when I left about 12:15

I walked into the Brighton GameRush at 11:55 and was home by 12:35. There were probably 40 people ahead of me and 20 behind me when I left. Pretty boring actually. If it hadn't been for the highschool game geeks behind me making innane comments the whole time it would have been much more boring.

I did preorder mine in California, but since I'm in Chicago, I stopped by a local Gamestop at 11:45pm and walked off at 12:15am with a Limited Collectors Edition without preordering. There was a separate line for the people who paid in full, and sadly that line was going slower even though it seemed like theyd been there longer.

My gamerush didn't have that many people there, maybe 30-40 tops. That being said there were 3 other GR store locations nearby that had 100-150+ people waiting in line.

They ended up raffling a XBOX live kit, copy of halo 2, four Halo 2 T-shirts, several 2-month xbox live free trials, and $5 off a month of GR game passes.

Since I won one of the T-shirts and didnt have to wait in line it was a good experience overall.



I have like 3 coupon books as well and won't use more than 2 coupons so let me know if anyone wants one. (I agree the only decent coupon is the 19.99 preorder one :?

Weakness was this event!!! Went in at 11:50 they started to sell to people w/o preorders people with preorders were all standing in the GR section waiting and since I was late i was more towards the regular part of the BB and saw them selling copies LE copies to people that just plopped down money and didnt preorder which was utter gayness, I was like wow you guys doin sales down here why dont you announce it so people can get their games, also when I preordered the manager told me no we do not have the LE available for preorder so I had to get the regular one, when I went back later in the week they had the LE available for preorder so I asked if I could change it some chick just straight LIED to me and said oh dont worry first 150 people will get the LE edition you'll get it dont worry, so I tell the cashier what they told me, I even said hey I am willing to pay the difference I want the LE he said sorry they are all spoken for, and I was like really you just sold like 3 copies of the LE to people who didnt preorder call or anything as I sat there and watched him check people out and talk to them. In all it was lame how they ran it, they had like about 10-15 gift bag things I could see on the counter, and when I asked if they running a tourney giving out any prizes he was like ya we doing a tourney later giving out stuff, I was like what kind of stuff? Games, consoles, acessories, these gift bags right in front of me?? What kind of stuff?? he was like stuff...pretty much the majority of the 40 or so people there left right after they got the game, alot of the people stickin around were friends of employees so I am guessing they were playing off prizes etc so their friends could get it, which seemed to be a good 10-15 group of people. Top it off they didnt even get in my GG Isuka preorder, guy told me they have a set list to proerder and they DONT get games to sell if its not on the list so I should change the game since it wont be coming in, I was like whatever nother lie or something? I wasnt gonna deal with him so I left said I would check back later. I was kinda upset and didnt watch where i was goin on the way home and ran over some big chunk of plastic or something, so all in all it was a terrible experience and a waste of time.


Sorry had to get that one off my chest, but Halo 2 was good, too bad I got it home and finally got my World of Warcraft beta up and running so played that till 7am haha didnt touch halo 2 but for like 15mins, the irony haha!!
