From DDR Freak
"For years, nobody ever thought that there would be a console release of Pump It Up, but those days are numbered. Andamiro has announced that Pump It Up Exceed is coming to the PS2. It is to be released on November, 24. Over 100 songs are promised and the game is bundled with a dance mat. "
I have the PC version but I hate setting up the dance pad at the PC and would rather play the game on PS2.
Pump It Up Exceed arcade is a great game and 100+ songs is excellent for a first console release.
The songlist looks amazin - Turkey March, Winter, Com'Back, Slam, Mr. Larpus, Don't Bother Me (Caution) etc.
The only problem? It's only scheduled for release in Korea (but it will work on a Japanese PS2).

If this comes out in the US I wont have to hog the PC To play it!!! I can't wait...It'd kick some major ass if it had USB support because I already spent $100 on two USB Pads.

didnt see that coming. would be surprised if it came stateside. UC Davis has a Pump It Up in our games area. Only two tokens too.
Pump It Up gave me trouble though. I just can't follow the diagonal arrows as well.

Andamiro would be stupid not to release it in the US because Pump seems to be really gaining in popularity and The Evolutionary Dance Floor for the PC was of course a US game.
I suggested to Cobalt Flux in March 2003 they add Pump support to their pads. They said there was no demand for it and they couldn't support it because there were no official releases of the game (which was wrong because of the few official PC versions).
I ordered my Cobalt Flux in September 2003 and of course a few months later, they release the version 2 pad which does have Pump support. I would buy another Cobalt Flux if they weren't so expensive since although this will come bundled with a soft pad, I can imagine it would be torn to shreds after a few weeks of playing Turkey March.

Ive never heard of this game. Am I right guessing it is, or its like DDR?

It's like DDR but a Korean game so it has K-Pop and K-Rock compared to the J-Pop in DDR. The biggest difference is the game setup though. DDR has up, down, left, right panels and Pump It Up has diagonal panels at all 4 corners of the pad and a 5th center panel.

is this the one with a lot of older songs on the music list? I think I heard Louie Louie on one of them.
Only reason I ask is they have DDR, Beatmania (has yet to work), and another dance game with diagonal arrows at the arcade

It now has KPOP instead of JPOP?

Did Pump ever have J-Pop? I thought it was always K-Pop in the game.

Some arcade mixes might have older songs, Premire 1 I think had some older songs on it. But if the machine only had diagonal arrows, then it's probably Pump It Up. At my local arcade, they have Perfect Collection which has no well known (by well known I mean mainstream songs) songs so I'm really not sure about the songlists of most of the mixes since Perfect Collection is kind of old and not up to date with the newer mixes.

Good news -
""To let you all know, the pad that is bundled with Exceed will be a USB pad. All previous USB pads made for the PC games will work on the PS2 release of Exceed.""

Wow what I can say is FINALLY (even though it's going to be out in Korea)... I don't think Pump ever had Jpop? O.o but yea hopefully we find some deals on the bundle ^_^.

Yeah it would be nice to get a deal on the bundle somewhere but I don't have too much hope for that since imports always are expensive and music games never seem to be cheap.
